    Dope sandwiches

Good sandwiches with a side of slow service! The sandwiches here are a decent value, you get a solid 1000 calories sandwich with the chip surcharge for about $12 all in. They pack in every possible random cheap meat in the roll and boom you get real full! Unfortunately, the service is INSANELY SLOW and its almost like counter service because they never come back. I knocked off 2 stars because I just couldn't stand the slow service and having to line up to pay at the front.

We have followed this aptly named (Taste of Life) restaurant from its original location on Cottage &24th to State Street (with another locale in Taylorsville on US31). The menu is simple and basic but well executed. Tacos are Mexican street taco style made with 2 soft corn tortillas, grilled onions, chopped cilantro and radishes and a wedge of lime. The lunch special gets you 3 beef tacos for $5, with chicken tacos at the same price M-W. There are other lunch specials starting at $5 which include tortas (sandwiches), lunch size chimichanga with beans and rice, and beef burrito. The premises are exceptionally clean which is always appreciated. The staff is friendly and polite. There might be a bit of a wait if you come during busy times. There is only one wait person and, I think, one cook but it's easy to get in and out in an hour. They do a brisk carry out business too.

Family run restaurant and they truly win by a big margin in terms of food quality and its simplicity. We ordered Jarritos for drinks and Mojara Frita, Tamales, Vegi Chmichanga and Chicken Fajita main course. They are all damn good (home glavor) in taste. Only downside was the Chocolate Flan and Rice Pudding which wasnt upto the mark. Very cheap food for four plates if lunch the cost was 38 USD. Quality, Homely Tasty Mexican Food in Columbus.

    Tamales--one pork, and one chicken.

Not the best but not the worst either. I like having 3 salsa options with the chips. My wife and I ordered one each of the pork and chicken tamales. Definitely preferred the pork (red sauce) over the chicken (verde). The side of rice and beans wasn't that warm (another patron noted they don't heat the plates they serve on). The place was nice and clean and the service relatively quick (Tues lunch).

The building is brand new and also the parking lot. They only had one waitress during Lunch hour, so it took a minute to have my order taken. I ordered a Steak Burrito and Bean Pupusa. The Burrito was really good, the Pupusa not so much! It was greasy and didn't have much cheese in it. Their prices are great, you can get the Burrito for $5 or 3 Tacos for $5 All Day long.

This restaurant is clean and has delicious, reasonably-priced food. My favorite meal is the chicken and rice lunch special!

Delicious food always. One of my favorites are the green Chile tamales. Just wonderful. If you have eaten there yet, go!

This place serves really good food. Most of the other Mexican restaurants I've tried around here…read moreare actually Tex Mex, which is fine, but not really representative of what you'd actually get in Mexico. This one actually captures much better the flavors of Mexico. I especially liked the salsa verde on my chilaquiles -- it had the same brightness and heat you'd get in Mexico City. Their drinks are also homemade and delicious. Went with a group of people with various experience with Mexican food and everyone was very happy with what they got. The only downside is that they seem to really be struggling with staffing. One lady seemed to be doing almost all the work. She was delightful and incredibly helpful but clearly overwhelmed without enough staff to help her. Our food came out slow, with at least 20 mins between the first and last person being served, and needed several corrections to get right. I'm not going to detract a star for this on my first visit because the food was really that good and I want to be fair in case that was just a one off thing but I also wouldn't go back with a group of more than 2-3 people next time.
