Five stars for consistency. Unfortunately, that consistency was disappointment. We waited 20 minutes for coffee and water. Plenty of time to admire the decor and contemplate our life choices. When the food finally arrived, half of it showed up. The server asked, "Can I get you anything else?" Yes. The rest of our food would be a strong start. The chicken deserves special recognition. Tough, chewy, clearly microwaved, and served at a temperature best described as emotionally lukewarm. It tasted like it had been lovingly baked under a heat lamp for 12 hours, then finished off in the microwave for that signature stringy texture Cracker Barrel is apparently experimenting with. They were out of butter. They were out of jelly. Bold move for a place built on biscuits. The food was cold, the wait was long, but the waitress was genuinely sweet and did her best, which ended up being the only positive part of the experience. Like the campfire chicken meal especially, when it's well cooked (chicken browned and well-seasoned). In most cases it has been once over the past month it wasn't cooked well or barely at all. The chicken was rubbery and meat still reddish inside. Must add that the manager readily took care of our order. Well, wish I could say the same about the "meatnips" which should be turnips. I think it's a chain establishment problem that should be addressed. When a customer orders vegetables they don't want to order more meat than vegetables. That's a problem. The request is for turnips not meat. Cracker Barrel should fix that problem. It's okay to have meat to season the vegetables however, when meat overpowers a vegetable dish that's a serious concern well. It is a PROBLEM! read more

We sat in the very first table, so the setting wasn't awesome. This specific location has had many problems in the past. There was improvement, but still not the best experience. People complained. One customer got up angry in Joshua's space and was harsh and walked out. Joshua never complained and was always kind. Whew. It's been a while since I've had Cracker Barrel and this experience reminded me why. ‍ We were seated within 10 min, which was great since it was pretty busy on a Sunday morning. However, the service was pretty slow. Our server was really sweet, I just think everything was backed up. I know that the menu pictures are all a dream, but hotdamn. The green beans were over cooked and tasted like it's been sitting out for a while. We didn't get silverware before our food so I was definitely picking my food with my hands before I got silverware. I asked the hostess for silverware and she said the waitress will give us some, we don't give that out. Well the waitress didn't and I had to ask. We waited 45 minutes for our food. Mine was quite good but my husband's order was ghastly. It almost made me sick to look at it. The French toast was limp, soggy & barely cooked. He sent it back. 15 minutes later a replacement arrived. By that point all else was cold. And I did not get the biscuits that I ordered. And why does Cracker Barrel NEVER have utensils? Stop by this location while traveling through. Our family loves Cracker Barrel; however, this experience was off from the start. We had a 10-15 min wait (more than half restaurant is empty), the waitress, although nice, seemed inexperienced. Took our drink order, came back a few minutes later and took our food order (still no drinks). Typically once the order is made, you receive a basket of biscuits/corn bread, we had to ask for it. Food comes out, we had 3 orders of chicken n dumplings. These dumplings looked very dry and pasty, little to no gravy broth. We asked if they been sitting too long under a lamp, but the waitress swore they just came out (maybe they did). However, none of the food was hot, warm but not hot. ONE PLATE COST MY FAMILY $523 We chose this restaurant to accommodate our large family for a meal. After paying for a sub par dining experience , I discovered that a member of my family was a victim of an accident that occurred in the parking lot resulting in her parked vehicle being hit so bad, that her bumper was hanging. She had driven back from NC to visit us and needs this vehicle to return. The individual responsible for the damage did come in to report the incident to the manager and staff. The manager did not see fit to take any personal or insurance information from that individual. This was a blatant disregard for the people who come to this establishment and support this business. Long review Just passing through Montgomery and needed to get some lunch. The food at Cracker Barrel is always really good, though not Keto/carb friendly. I got the meatloaf with sides. The sides here are always good. The turnip greens are not spicy but have good flavor. Fried catfish is always good. Breakfast is damn good. This specific location was fine. The waitress was a little slow. They were taking all of the COVID-19 precautions with masks and gloves. Every other table was not available to ensure social distancing. The restrooms were clean (I only checked out the Men's) and should be no problem putting your buns on the seat. Overall, recommend. read more

We arrived to the restaurant at 10:14am and was quoted a 30 minute wait time, no problem. We were seated at 10:40am. When we arrived to the table.. the hostess had to wipe it down before we were able to sit. The floor underneath and in the area needed to be swept. We placed our order immediately as we were trying to get in the road before the incoming storm. We were served our beverages. After 30 minutes we mentioned to our server that we had been waiting 30 minutes. At this point we were an hour into being in the restaurant. We were finally served our food at 11:45am.. an hour and 5 minutes after being seated. Completely unacceptable!!!! I know it wasn't our server's fault however for the manager to say.. she should have had 5 cooks and only 3 showed up.. sounds like an internal issue that should not have been shared.
