This is my 2nd review of the Cracker Barrell in Montgomery, Alabama. I had a party of 3 that visited the restaurant around 2:00 pm on Sunday 10/25/26. Service was extremely slow considering the place was less than half full. It took about 20 minutes to be seated with over half the tables unoccupied. It took another 1.5 hours for us to get our food. The worst was the young male waiter that we had. This guy comes to our table with all kinds of metal and piercing hanging from his nose. Totally disgusting!!! You would think some things would be just plain common sense and any self respecting restaurant manager would put an end to that. The company really needs to come up with a policy stating what's acceptable as far as dress and jewelry that's worn. I would love to know how many customers the restaurant has lost due to this stupidity. I owned and operated a restaurant for several years and there is no way I would allow this. So management, please don't send me a return email requesting additional information about my visit. This is all the information you need. Either you're going to fix the problem or not. This establishment is a joke it's so unorganized and unprofessional. I haven't eaten at Cracker Barrel in a long time and I honestly remember why now nothing has changed and it never will the food always takes forever and then the management blames all of there slack on the servers if I could give this place a one start rating I would will not be coming back no time soon if not ever again. read more

Like the campfire chicken meal especially, when it's well cooked (chicken browned and well-seasoned). In most cases it has been once over the past month it wasn't cooked well or barely at all. The chicken was rubbery and meat still reddish inside. Must add that the manager readily took care of our order. Well, wish I could say the same about the "meatnips" which should be turnips. I think it's a chain establishment problem that should be addressed. When a customer orders vegetables they don't want to order more meat than vegetables. That's a problem. The request is for turnips not meat. Cracker Barrel should fix that problem. It's okay to have meat to season the vegetables however, when meat overpowers a vegetable dish that's a serious concern well. It is a PROBLEM! read more

Five stars for consistency. Unfortunately, that consistency was disappointment. We waited 20 minutes for coffee and water. Plenty of time to admire the decor and contemplate our life choices. When the food finally arrived, half of it showed up. The server asked, "Can I get you anything else?" Yes. The rest of our food would be a strong start. The chicken deserves special recognition. Tough, chewy, clearly microwaved, and served at a temperature best described as emotionally lukewarm. It tasted like it had been lovingly baked under a heat lamp for 12 hours, then finished off in the microwave for that signature stringy texture Cracker Barrel is apparently experimenting with. They were out of butter. They were out of jelly. Bold move for a place built on biscuits. The food was cold, the wait was long, but the waitress was genuinely sweet and did her best, which ended up being the only positive part of the experience. If you're looking for nostalgia, patience training, and a masterclass in how not to serve chicken, this location delivers. Just don't come hungry. read more

The food was really on point. Our waitress was not super attentive and was not very friendly. That's fine. Might just not be her personality. We sat in the very first table, so the setting wasn't awesome. This specific location has had many problems in the past. There was improvement, but still not the best experience. They had tons of people going in and out of the kitchen, not in uniform, so tons of noise and apparently ppl off hours hanging out and getting to-go orders. That was not great. Food was 5 star. Whew. It's been a while since I've had Cracker Barrel and this experience reminded me why. ‍ We were seated within 10 min, which was great since it was pretty busy on a Sunday morning. However, the service was pretty slow. Our server was really sweet, I just think everything was backed up. I know that the menu pictures are all a dream, but hotdamn. The green beans were over cooked and tasted like it's been sitting out for a while. We didn't get silverware before our food so I was definitely picking my food with my hands before I got silverware. Our waiter JOSHUA TUCK was amazing!!! This young man needs to be promoted! He would be a great manager! He and one other server had all the tables in the store. He turned our order in immediately. . We watched him run around keeping drinks and free biscuits on tables. Our table and all the tables around us waited over an hour and 1/2 to be served our meal. Cooks had not shown up. People complained. One customer got up angry in Joshua's space and was harsh and walked out. Joshua never complained and was always kind. He didn't through his coworkers under the bus, but said he was sorry we didn't have our food yet. He was calm and responded well under amazing pressure. read more

Tried their Cutbside pickup early in am before they were busy. App very difficult after entering 7 entrees tells you at end that blueberry pancakes not available. No options to edit! After starting over 3 times - got order to go thru! Ah then the wait ! It said order ready at 7:48. Arrived 7:44 and notified them as requested.Its now 14 minutes later and I tried calling. After many rings someone answered . Very curt, no greeting or otherwise . Just requested my space number. Still waiting.... it's 8:05. Hope the food is correct. On Sunday, February 25th @ 3:00, we arrived at Cracker Barrel. I ordered the fried chicken & turnip greens & mac n cheese. My husband ordered French toast, bacon & eggs. We waited 45 minutes for our food. Mine was quite good but my husband's order was ghastly. It almost made me sick to look at it. The French toast was limp, soggy & barely cooked. He sent it back. 15 minutes later a replacement arrived. By that point all else was cold. And I did not get the biscuits that I ordered. And why does Cracker Barrel NEVER have utensils? The food itself was fine. But the service took ages and any request (ie more water, splitting the check in half) took ages. Took a few small children and the wait for food for them was completely unreasonable and one of their meals was completely forgotten. Then it took so long to get the correct order that we just had to leave. Cracker Barrel is typically a pretty safe, family friendly location but this Cracker Barrel is not worth that kind of wait. read more

I'm visiting family from out of state. I took my elderly mom for lunch on a Friday afternoon. Hostess sat us with menus only, no silverware. I asked the hostess for silverware and she said the waitress will give us some, we don't give that out. Well the waitress didn't and I had to ask. She said the silverware is all dirty and she would have to wash them and gave us plastic forks and knives instead. Waitress forgot my syrup with my pancakes, coffee was not hot. Waitress complained about working 8 hours and said she was waiting for us to finish so she can clock out. We just got our food when she said that! Stop by this location while traveling through. Our family loves Cracker Barrel; however, this experience was off from the start. We had a 10-15 min wait (more than half restaurant is empty), the waitress, although nice, seemed inexperienced. Took our drink order, came back a few minutes later and took our food order (still no drinks). Typically once the order is made, you receive a basket of biscuits/corn bread, we had to ask for it. Food comes out, we had 3 orders of chicken n dumplings. These dumplings looked very dry and pasty, little to no gravy broth. We asked if they been sitting too long under a lamp, but the waitress swore they just came out (maybe they did). However, none of the food was hot, warm but not hot. Arrived at 9 am for breakfast, not very busy. Equavon, our waiter was very attentive, talkative and kept the hot coffee coming. The food arrived hot and delicious. Many other Cracker Barrels we have been to the manager would make rounds. Never here. The ambiance is always warm, however in other areas in this restaurant you could see menus and receipts on the floor not being picked up, a hazard for the elderly. read more

Not sure why this Cracker Barrel has lack luster reviews. I found the food to good, service acceptable and overall would recommend. Long review Just passing through Montgomery and needed to get some lunch. The food at Cracker Barrel is always really good, though not Keto/carb friendly. I got the meatloaf with sides. The sides here are always good. The turnip greens are not spicy but have good flavor. Fried catfish is always good. Breakfast is damn good. This specific location was fine. The waitress was a little slow. They were taking all of the COVID-19 precautions with masks and gloves. Every other table was not available to ensure social distancing. The restrooms were clean (I only checked out the Men's) and should be no problem putting your buns on the seat. Overall, recommend. read more

ONE PLATE COST MY FAMILY $523 We chose this restaurant to accommodate our large family for a meal. After paying for a sub par dining experience , I discovered that a member of my family was a victim of an accident that occurred in the parking lot resulting in her parked vehicle being hit so bad, that her bumper was hanging. She had driven back from NC to visit us and needs this vehicle to return. The individual responsible for the damage did come in to report the incident to the manager and staff. The manager did not see fit to take any personal or insurance information from that individual. This was a blatant disregard for the people who come to this establishment and support this business. She did not check on our food nor gave us a response when she came back to her chair. We decided to leave and as soon as we got up, then she asked us if we were going to the bathroom. REALLY? We had lunch on August 8, 2023, at around 2:00 pm, at the Cracker Barrel, 9191 Boyd-Cooper Pkwy, Montgomery, Alabama. We were seated after a short wait (no one was ahead of us). The restaurant looked clean. Our food and drinks arrived within a reasonable amount of time. The food was barely okay. We expected it to be hot from the kitchen, it wasn't. We were tired and hungry, so we ate part of it and took the rest to our hotel. There was only a fork, no knives, in the silverware packet. We didn't see our original server after our food arrived. We asked another server for knives to cut our meat and chicken. She brought us two plastic to-go cutlery packets! Our original server came at the end of our meal with the bill. We have eaten at other Cracker Barrel restaurants that were amazing. This location had both bad service and barely ok food. We will not eat here again. read more
