They left one dinner completely out of the order the meat loaf dinner looked like some thing they had to put in the garbage the mash potatoes was not large enough to be worth the drive not to mention the green beans you could count on one hand ! We order cornbread and got biscuits to sum it up we will never darken the doors of this restaurant again! I have always loved the decor on the walls in the restaurant. I even like the things that can be bought inside the store. It is genius on the setup. The host is very sweet and sat us right away. If I could put zero stars, I would this whole establishment has gone to hell in the past 10 years a corporation that was built around good hospitality doesn't have any. I went to this restaurant recently the floors were so dirty and sticky when I asked to talk to the manager. The girl with dark red hair, her breath stink. when I was trying to explain my meal was half cooked she seemed to be annoyed about me even saying anything. I could've got salmonella from the way that chicken wasn't cooked. when I went to the bathroom I seen a cook with a blunt in his hand, standing outside the bathroom talking about he can't wait to light this up. He might as well light it up in the employee bathroom I was overly shocked. I seen the new general manager Brian I believe his name was talking to the employees like they were dogs. even raising his voice, this doesn't seem like a great work environment or a great restaurant environment. I was told it would be a five minute wait. Instead it turned into a 40 minuet wait. We were told our table was being wiped down, But then when we weren't being taken back we asked again and was told that it was not. I have a family member on crutches. I'm finally completely frustrated with this specific Cracker Barrel to say don't patronize this site. The last 3 times we've been there the service has been so slow we missed an upcoming appointment. Last night we arrived, no one was in the front dinning area and we waited for 30 minutes and was never seated. The poor young lady at the front desk told us 3 times there was no one available to clean the tables and she had no idea how long it would take. By the time we decided to leave there was a line of more than 15 people waiting behind us. We decided to leave and 2 other couples followed us. She had just came on the floor and the hostess sat her immediately with 4 tables back to back, ours being the 4th. Expecting to have a bit of a wait because of this, we watched as she quickly and efficiently greeted each table before us and took their order. We had only been sat for about 5 mins and were talking so still needed time to explore the "new" menu since we haven't been in a while so we just ordered drinks at that time. She brought drinks for all 4 tables at the same time, which I was thoroughly impressed with considering it was at least 8-10 different drinks, and took our order shortly after. I ordered the crispy tender dippers (basically just fried chicken tenders) mac and cheese and hash brown casserole. I don't remember what my family ordered because I was too hungry and too excited for my own food! Our food was out not 10 mins after we ordered and was HOT and fresh! Our glasses were never empty. We were offered (and tempted!) with dessert and some kind of little $5 to go meals. She even filled us in on the new fall menu items that were starting the next day (pies?! Heck yeah!) We have eaten at Cracker Barrel's around the country and know what to expect. We stopped into the one in Cold Spring, KY, over the weekend and were very disappointed. My husband and I both ordered the "new" chicken skillet. The description was tender white meat chicken in a creamy sauce with carrots, peas, and onions, topped with biscuit crumbles. Sounds good, right? Well...No peas, very little chicken and carrots, and LOADED with cubes of corn bread (not even in the description) in addition to two biscuit halves on the top. Not at all as described--all starch. The flavor was good, but had we wanted corn bread and gravy, we would have ordered that instead. The only reason I am giving two stars instead of one is because the service was good, and the GM went around passing out coupons for a free appetizer, which we ordered. Wow, I don't know how I've made it this far in life without going to a Cracker Barrel. What an experience, from the rocking chairs that you can buy, to the store with just about everything, to the open fireplace radiating heat within the restaurant. Our server Caroline was delightful, so sweet to help and quick with service even though it was the busiest time of the morning. I ordered the bacon n egg hashbrown casserole and I think everybody else was jealous when my food arrived. It was filling and delicious with a variety of flavors. The biscuits were soft and buttery. I split the beignets and they were the perfect sweetness to balance the savory. If you want a home style breakfast at a great price, this is it. Then we order a country fried steak and they brought out chicken, they took the chicken left the sides and didn't bring my steak out until I was finished. I've only been to this location a few times now, but I've always gotten wonderful service from lovely people. Gizelle at the front counter is 100% a saleswoman but never comes across as forced, she genuinely seems to love her job and it shows. Then my waitress today was Billie K and she went above and beyond, was a total sweetheart and was a pleasure to interact with. The food was delicious and perfectly prepared, my fat self thanks you all. I always love the 'feel' of Cracker Barrel with it's decor as well, makes me feel at home. We were surprised that the hostess seated us right by the kitchen door (walking the entire length of the room) when the restaurant was 90% empty but we were sports and didn't push back. Took too long to get a waitress but the waitress was new and sweet so we didn't mind that she was slower than normal. It took an abnornally long time for food to arrive. Another person (not waitress) brought out the food and both entrees were terribly cold. My chicken and dumplings were so cold that the liquid had already formed a skim on top. The newbie waitress came just after we resolved to send both entrees back. Had to wait a long time again and the Idiot that delivered the first cold food brought out the replacement plates which were microwaved to make them hot. Unfortunately, that effort turned my chicken into rubbery lumps. Husband's meatloaf was too dry to enjoy very much too. But the complimentary floor show was a blonde, petite 18-year old waitress bending over and hanging onto her seated boyfriend at a nearby table. She seemed perturbed when we asked her to get our waitress so we could get the check and leave. The idiot from earlier brought the check and acted pissed off at us too. Located in the heart of the community, seamlessly decorated like it's been prospered in love and comfort for generations, this is by far the homiest Cracker Barrel. The service here is exceptional! The focus and dedication each and every service provider delivers is not only genuine, but considerate and kind. I have never had a bad time here, and I don't think it's possible to have one either! As far as the food is concerned, the Biscuit Benny is not only the most creative eggs Benedict I've ever had, but it's delicious as well! I ate there this morning with my husband and we were the only customers in there today. The waitress was super nice to use and brought out our food that tasted amazing. There is times when yes, their service will be slow, but that is usually when they are busy during "peak times," like a lunch or dinner times, for example. I've been at the restaurant when it's been dead slow and when it's been off the chain busy -- I still managed to get good service there, like I did this morning with my husband. Moreover, I've come to this restaurant with my parents, especially considering that my dad is now wheelchair-bound. The restaurant has been extremely accommodating with my dad in his wheelchair. I have never had an issue with them finding a table for my dad to sit at it with his wheelchair. I really appreciate them not being jerks about my dad needing a table with wheelchair access to it. Some folks that gave this restaurant low reviews might want to try the restaurant again and like on an "off time," because they should get good service then, if they're wanting to be picky about their service that they get from the restaurant. read more

WORST MEAL EVER! It was inedible. First sent back as it was cold(turkey, stuffing). Was brought back out....stuffing was dry as sawdust and burnt....totally inedible. The turkey was dry as shoe leather, again inedible. Then they offered me something else....to which I ordered a BLT. Hard to ruin this....or so I thought. I was at the Cracker Barrel store in Cold Springs yesterday Friday November 3rd. I always order the fish fry special because it is so good. Yesterday I was given a plate with 4 little pieces of fish they were so thin that when you cut the bread and the fish was no thicker than a coin. The food is usually good but the service is slow and the servers need much more experience. Last time we were here we waited around 15 minutes to get our drinks after ordering them then our waiter never asked if we needed refills. This was my third or fourth visit to this location. We got in without a wait on a Saturday which was good and a little unexpected. The service once at the table was a little on the slow side (our waitress was a little flighty but kind.) I got the Chicken Fried Chicken platter which was a large fried chicken piece that was (supposed to be) covered with some of the most awesome white gravy on the planet, two sides which I got steak fries and hashbrown casserole. A biscuit or cornbread is also included and I chose biscuit. My problem with this was they put no gravy on my chicken. Now they did correct the problem and gave me a bowl of gravy to put on it but how can you forget gravy on a dish like this. Nevertheless it was still good as the chicken was crispy and delicious and as I mentioned the gravy is first rate. The hashbrown casserole from Cracker Barrel is another awesome dish as the combination of cheese, potatoes, and a little bit of onion makes for awesome flavour. The steak fries were fine as well. My first ever visit to a Cracker Barrel and I was not disappointed! I went in with a couple of friends and we amordered the country fried chicken, pork and steak. While the three of them were good, I felt the pork and chicken were better cooked. The chicken particularly was very tender and juicy I loved it. The sides we ordered were Mac and Cheese and pinto beans, which were well done. The service was efficient and the waitress was very attentive and courteous. I enjoyed this experience as it fulfilled my expectations. The decor was apparently typical of a chain restaurant like this which made me feel like a newly arrived tourist. It's your standard chain restaurant. It's great for friends, family or a single person. The menu is pretty versatile as far as getting the sides you want. They have booth and table seating. They even have a fireplace in the winter. I like being able to play games at the table while you are waiting for the food to be served. There are rocking chairs and checkers in the covered porch to use while waiting (there's usually a wait) for your table or even after you eat. There's also shopping. You can purchase home decor, old thyme candy and drinks, clothing and much more. The food is never as great as the photos. I do love the fried catfish and fried apples. Not many places prepare them as well. The chicken and dumplings is great, a little more chicken would make it even better. We went for breakfast today. Those eggs tasted like plastic. They had such a weird texture. I couldn't manage to choke them down. The gravy tasted like paste. It barely has sausage in it. The gravy and the grits came out with that thick film on it. The apples weren't even hot. The food is not heavily seasoned which makes it good for all ages. I doubt that I'll crave Cracker Barrell next time I want to go out for breakfast. read more

This Cracker Barrel, as many are...especially on a Sunday after church, is CRAZY busy. However, the service is pretty quick and the food is quite good. There is, however, a trick. Ask for an omelet. They are not on the menu, but if you ask they are "there". I prefer the Western. It's packed full of goodies and, as always, made to order. It can be a bit noisy, so casual conversation is more like casual yelling. Other than that, it is a decent place to eat. read more
