So let's start by stating the obvious--this is a Cracker Barrel. I don't expect fine dining, but I do want friendly, fast service and filling comfort food at a good value. And on those things, this new Cracker Barrel delivers. Despite a full parking lot, we sat down almost immediately. Our server (and most of the wait staff) seemed pulled from the local high school and college student population and was very sweet. When she didn't know the answer to one of my questions on ingredients, she went and found out the answer right away. I was pleased to see grilled chicken tenders and some other healthier options on the kids menu and my son was happy with his meal. I was originally going to get the Sunday dinner special--homestyle fried chicken, but the server warned me that the kitchen was backed up on that item and it would be a long wait so I went with fried chicken tenders instead. They were ok, but not something I'd order again here. I was impressed that the tossed salad I got was actual fresh, green lettuce (Romaine, I think) instead of the anemic-looking Iceberg stuff. I had high expectations for the biscuits, but they were almost biscuit-roll hybrids, not the fluffy, flaky layered Southern biscuits I was hoping for. First, I didn't expect perfect service the first time I went to the new Cracker Barrel. However, I went at a time when it wasn't packed and service was very slow and our food was cold and our order was wrong. Also, the fix was slow coming back out of the kitchen and was cold. I was truly disappointed in the quality of the food. The biscuits were kind of hard, cold, and far from fluffy and flakey and the fries were burned. I gave them time and I recently went again at a time where there wasn't a lot of people. Service was worse than the first time. Our server was no where to be found, got my order and my friend's order wrong, and we had asked for biscuits multiple times and never got any. I am really disappointed. I love Cracker Barrel, but if I were you, I'd find another location. read more

Submitted a phone ahead place in line on the website, indicated a 20-25 minute wait. Arrived at the resturant in 15 minutes, expecting a 10-minute wait when checking in. The elderly host that seemed very lost said it would be 40 additional minutes. There were over 50 tables empty and guests said service was horrible. It is a disgrace how poorly this Cracker Barrel is run. Cracker Barrel is typically an example of great service and care, not this location. We went elsewhere for dinner and don't intend to return anytime in the near future. read more

I want to love this Cracker Barrel but every time I come in the service is terrible. Currently I waited 5+mins for someone to take my drink order. Then almost 10 to get said drink order. They always seem to be short staffed. Every other Cracker Barrel I have been to gets you in an out in less than 45 mins max. Not this one. I've easily spent an hour and 15-30 mins. And it's mainly waiting on service. Kinda disappointing. I keep giving it chances and it keeps coming up short. I've already been here 40 mins and still haven't received my food. Agree with a lot of the other reviews. It's clear they are still working out some kinks when it comes to service. We went on a Sunday mid-morning and with a lot of open tables around the restaurant ended up waiting way longer than we probably should have. It's normally not an issue, since the store is so fun to browse through, but with 4 hungry kids, it was a bit frustrating. The food was ok, even though we had a couple of order mishaps. All in all we felt like we overpaid for the experience we received, but we will still likely return, because it's Cracker Barrel, and the nostalgia will overwhelm us in the best kind of way, and compel us to stop by again. read more

In the past my family and I have always had good wholesome meals with Cracker Barrel. We were excited for this to move near our home. I want to say we have give this store 3 different tries. The first was breakfast which is usually a big winner, Not on this visit, Bacon was very hard and the gravy was cold the eggs had a very bad smell. Next time was lunch with chicken nuggets and french fries. The nuggets were rubbery and the crispy part was so hard it was impossible to eat the rest. Last try for dinner there was roast beef mashed potatoes with macaroni & cheese. Roast beef has 3 tiny pieces of beef and the rest was large fat pieces. Mashed potatoes were cold and my fav item mac and cheese had a taste like dishwashing liquid. Husband had ordered a sweet potato and it was shriveled up and over cooked. He got exactly two bites of the sweet potato. He spoke with manager who reluctantly brought him a white baked potato. The potato was so hard again dinner was ruined. No refills on drinks either. This place needs some serious help and good training. We will not return. 3 times they are OUT! read more

The service was poor, despite it being relatively slow, with 4 managers watching over the dinning area. Food was subpar, gravy was bland. Biscuits were hard and sausage was dry. Doubtful they we will be returning. Too many good places to eat now. read more

We had a pretty good first visit to this new location other than a missing fruit cup (very nice when it did come out) and no second coffee refill. The huge fireplace is pretty impressive and created a nice atmosphere. Food was delicious as Cracker Barrel typically is. If you are like me and want everything breakfast at once I suggest the off menu Grandma's Special half order french toast or pancakes, choice of meat, eggs and hashbrown casserole. Stopped in for breakfast this morning on the way home from airport. Not only was their a hair in my gravy for my biscuits but also a hair in my eggs. Just brutal! Manager did ask if they could make something else but my stomach already was doing somersaults, so no. You think they would have taken off the charge for coffee as well but no, my wife said her pecan pancakes were fine. We were their first customer of day, the manager didn't even come out a second time to check on us, the incident didn't phase or upset them at all! Never again! read more

when my kids told me they were hungry i looked to find somewhere in the area and i thought of cracker barrel because the last time i was there it was amazing there was one worker kylee Ogletree (i believe) that really caught my attention she was so helpful and had the biggest smile on her face and even though my kids were being very annoying she was very calm with them and when they would ask her a question she would respond she was a absolute angle and when my food was messed up she helped me figure it all out read more

My husband and I visited the new Cracker Barrel last night and we were pretty impressed. The place was packed, but everything was streamlined so well, that we were seated within 20-25 minutes. Which, for ANY Cracker Barrel, is impressive. But, it gave us plenty of time to wander around the store and find some really neat items. I'm not sure if it was because it was crowded but, the aisles seemed narrow. But, not too terrible. When we were finally seated, we were met with super friendly service from Nicholas. He was all smiles, which goes a long way, from a customer prospective. I ordered the classic chicken and dumplings meal with 3 sides...hashbrown casserole (a MUST), side salad, and cheese grits. Hands down, my all time favorite meal to order here. Everything was fantastic. Although, the dumplings themselves seemed just a tad flat, and not as fluffy as normal. But, still, definitely hit the spot. My husband got the sugar cured ham with a salad and turnip greens, which were fabulous. His only complaint was that the ham was too thin. But, it tasted really good. We got a mix of their awesome buttery cornbread and fluffy biscuits. And, of course, a side of the saw mill gravy for the biscuits. Management was attentive with all of the tables and the bussing process that I witnessed was incredibly speedy. Hopefully, they keep up the great work. I'm not sure if having a Cracker Barrel within walking distance is good or bad! Good because, we LOVE the food. Bad for the waistline and budget! Definitely going to be a regular here. read more

First I'd like to say I like Cracker Barrel but this one was not up to their usual standards. Waitress came over took our drink order and brought drinks right away. But then never came back to take our order. Once order was taken we told her we would need refills too. Food came out pretty quickly, our waitress was no where to be found with our drink refills. Then she came and asked if we got everything ok. We reminded her we needed drinks and my daughter didn't get her Ranch. She came back with drinks and no Ranch. She said ok she'd get once she took care of another table. My dinner was lacking also. I usually get the Chicken Fried Chicken. And it's always full breast. This chicken breast was sliced so thin that parts of it was just fried batter. And there was only a small amount of gravy on it. Normally the gravy covers the chicken. This might have been a tablespoons worth. Oh and it took my daughter asking for her Ranch 4 times and she was mostly done eating before she got it. I normally go to the Cracker Barrel in Milford. This was our first time at this one in Cold Springs. They don't even come close to what we are used to. May not be back here. read more

Terrible service. Not a full service Cracker Barrel. Cannot even get salads out prior to meals. Customer service was horrible even after waiter says gross that's a huge hair in your fries. Cracker Barrel is not fine dining but this was worse than McDonald's. Never eat at this Cracker Barrel. read more

Hubbie and I frequent Cracker Barrel. But today, Sunday, was especially nice. Lisa was our waitress. Fast. Attentive. Remembered everything we said. And friendly to boot! Everything with a smile. Lisa is a gem in this location. We both had fried chicken. Served hot and tasted great. I had a vanilla latte iced coffee...my weakness but CB did it justice with whipped cream just to overflowing. Iced water on the side and I didn't even had to ask for it. And then a go dinner for our working son. His meal was made plenty fast and Lisa bid us happy shopping! My "little sister" and I went to the new Cracker Barrel in Cold Spring, Kentucky today. A very slow start (miscommunication between two wait staff) but once we got rolling we were very pleased with our meals and desserts (Mac 'n' cheese with applesauce and ice cream sundae for little sister; chicken and rice and apple dumpling with ice cream for me. Good biscuits, too). And the best part: the afternoon manager gave us our meals and desserts "on the house" to take the sting away from our long wait. Good going, Cracker Barrel. read more
