This cute spot was so good. We visited on the Monday morning of july 4th so it was not very busy. We were immediately greeted by the server behind the register. We were given plenty of time to make our order choices off of the extensive menu. My two friends ordered the abe froman with a hashbrown. They were actually going to order the animal with no bacon but the server suggested the abe froman adding a hashbrown because it's cheaper. We loved that they suggested that alteration. I ordered the garlic parmesean tots. Our orders came out quickly and fresh. Both the sandwich and tots were cooked very well. Tots were crunchy, but not overcooked and seasoned well. I should have gotten the special cracked sauce to dip the tots into because it was so good! I am definitely going to go again to try a different sandwich and more tots. read more

This is my second time at the Cracked Eggery and I can't get enough. It's small inside but not super packed either time I've went. I wish I could replicate this sauce! Finally open in shaw after the truck stopped serving the area. Love that they're open at 7am and I can grab something while walking the dogs. The breakfast sandwiches have been awesome so far (Southern charm is my favorite to date). Tots are great, but texture doesn't hold up if you take them home - they could fry them longer or come up with some way to not trap in moisture so they aren't soggy later on, but they're still tasty - garlic parm truffle is easily my favorite, jalapeno cheddar were good, and sour cream and onion lacked flavor for me. I've tried the Seoul bowl and wouldn't order that again - it was overly salty between the pork belly and hoisin, and the rice was a day old and cold - it was clumped together like it had come straight from the fridge. Yay! They finally have a store front for this spot! We got the cracked burger, rancheros cucamonga and the garlic parm truffle tots. I was actually really surprised with the amount of food in the cucamonga. It was SO delicious and so filling. The burger was ok - the bread was dry but the sauce was delicious. The tots are so so yummy. Lastly, the service! The staff was so so kind and so helpful. They are 5/5. It's tough to say no to a Cracked Eggery trip on a weekend morning. It's consistently delicious and a great place to bring friends to as an introduction to (and to make a banger impression of) DC food spots. I typically get the Mr. Brigg's Stuff or the Indigo Montoya. Their mustard and lemon aioli sauces are a great touch to each sandwich respectively. Friends have had other items on the menu and are never disappointed. I'm actually looking forward to trying their cracked tots in the near future. Their bowls don't speak to my interests too much but I think it's great they have these additional options. If you're coming here, you're getting ample seating for indoor fast-dining and/or a fast and efficient ordering and pick up experience. I can't recommend Cracked Eggery enough. Both locations exceeded my expectations and you can count me in as a regular. They even have merch you can purchase! read more

This place is a hidden gem, located at the kiosks on Water Park at Crystal City. My wife and I were looking to eat lunch and she located the kiosks, let try it out. It was amazing, starting with the ordering, the young lady that served us was friendly and inviting, took our orders patiently (first time orderers are usually lost). The food took a little bit to be cooked, but since it was being cooked fresh, no complaint. I had one of the worst customer service experiences I'ved had in my whole life. I ordered two sandwiches and two tater tots, and everything was fine until I politely asked for a sauce for the tots. The 'manager' responded rudely, telling me it would cost extra. I frequently visit this location, as well as the one in Arlington, and have never been charged for a sauce. When I asked if a complimentary sauce came with the tots, he snapped 'no' and walked away. I then asked what sauces were free, to which he replied, 'ketchup.' When I asked for some and extended my hand, he threw the ketchup into the bag without acknowledging me. I told him that his behavior was extremely rude and unprofessional. He then started yelling at me, getting uncomfortably close to my face, and shouted that he had been a manager for over 15 years and didn't need a lesson in customer service. I was so shaken that I left in tears. My husband went in to ask for his name, but the man refused to give it. The so-called manager had brown hair and a septum piercing. This was our second time ordering from the Cracked Eggery - I wasn't a fan the first time (sandwiches felt very bread-y), but we decided to give it a second shot - glad we did, as the sandwiches were very solid. I opted for the Mayor, which is a classic breakfast sandwich - bacon, egg, and cheese - with the 'cracked' sauce. The sandwich was very tasty, with generous portions - our first order, there was too much bread relative to the sandwich ingredients, but this definitely wasn't an issue this time. The Challah the sandwich was served on was nice and fluffy. My wife opted for the Green Eggs No Ham - she was a fan. We got the standard salted tots - tasty, but nothing special. I've been to Cracked Eggery three times now and it's safe to say this is becoming a new favorite of mine. It's a great place for a casual but super satisfying weekend breakfast. Each time I've went I've got a Paulie Cicero sandwich which feels like the right balance between decadent with the prosciutto and healthy-ish with the arugula. Friends have said good things about The Animal sandwich. Their hash browns are good but I definitely prefer the salted. The old bay can be a little over seasoned for an early morning. I am so not a fan of messy sandwiches. Unfortunately, this was a messy sandwich. I got the "Mr Brigg's Stuff", which contained smoked sausage, a fried egg and cheeses. Well, I was definitely interested in the fried egg. But I didn't know the yolk wouldn't be cooked. So, when I picked up my order and opened the package, the yolk had broke and was at the bottom of the container, and all over the bottom of the bun. Of course this would make this hard to pick up and eat. Instant deterrent from enjoying this sandwich. All the ingredients tasted fine. The bun was fresh, the smoked sausage had that crispy snap, and what was left of the egg tasted ok. But it was still a disappointment because of the mess. Too bed there wasn't a scrambled option for this particular sandwich. Now, as a side I got the small old bay tots. These hit the spot and were way better then the sandwich. And dunked in the cracked sauce took them up a notch. If there is a next time, I'm definitely going for something with scrambled eggs. read more

OK, I have never been more positive in a review than at this moment. Cracked Eggery is amazing. The fried pimento cheeseballs were fantastic and had just the right amount of kick from jalapeno. The St Elmo's fire was the perfect combination of tots and fried chicken, and don't forget that egg on top elevated this from standard fried food to yummy goodness that you didn't know you needed The everyday I'm brusselin' was to die for, and I don't even like Brussels sprouts. This is the 1st time that I had Brussels sprouts and enjoyed every bite. The service was so sweet I didn't even sit down before they brought me my food and if that doesn't say fast breakfast in DC, I don't know what does.The manager Stephen was kind and welcoming and it was refreshing to see a manager on the front line with the saff. The shot district lopatient is easily accessible via the metro. I will say that as with any place in dc, parking was difficult and limited.
