Crabby Abby's always has high quality food. You pay a little more but the food is worth it! We've had several dishes here. The Mahi bites appetizer is a must for us. Very tender and flaky. Tonight we had grilled James River oysters plain and Rockefeller. They were good size and very flavorful. The ambience in the bar side is jovial while the fireplace side is more quiet. The service is friendly and attentive no matter where you are seated. We are locals and strongly recommend you visit! You will not be disappointed! read more

Crabby Abby's - Grilled oysters, Rockefeller and plain, and Mahi Mahi bites. Excellent! - New American Near Me - Marion, North Carolina

Service is always great... cocktails spot on & delicious! But don't order the crab cakes. For $34 we thought they'd be pretty decent, but we received nothing short of bread cake with a hint of crab essence. Very disappointing. read more

What an absolute delight to find this chef owned and operated restaurant. I think Cindy servers us the best biscuits I've ever eaten. I've worked in the industry for a long time and they hit all the marks. The food was elevated, but not unapproachable. The prices were really good and the portions substantial. We sat outside and it was a lovely night. I can't say enough good things about Crabby Abby's read more

I had the best pesto tomato soup EVERRRR here!!! It was a special today, but if it was a regular menu item I'd make the drive to Marion just for the soup!! The ambience is pretty dive bar-ish and a little dark indoors, but the servers are friendly and our food came quickly. Two people in my party had the smash burger and the bar burger and said both were great, as well. read more

We had an early dinner at Crabby Abby's today. It is a bar atmosphere with tables on the opposite side of the room plus outdoor seating on the wide sidewalk out front. This would be an excellent place to take your pup. They are very pup friendly. We ordered from the daily special selection. My husband had the steak. I had the sesame salmon. Both came with soup or salad. I had the seafood chowder, an excellent choice. My husband had the salad, which was very generous. My husband said the steak was the best he had in a long time. My salmon was served on a bed of fried rice with a tangy sesame sauce. The salmon was flaky and cooked perfectly. Brandon, our server was cheerful and very attentive. Being a tourist today, I asked him a lot of questions. He was very knowledgeable about the area. He is a true asset to Marion. This is a lovely place to grab a bite and enjoy this historic town. read more

When trying to decide what to eat after work we landed on crabby Abby's as (in my opinion) they have the best French onion soup I've ever had. Well, today was no different. Brandon was one of the most kindhearted people I've met, funny and absolutely charismatic. If you go on a day when the chicken Marsala is on the specials it is a MUST TRY!! Not only did I get the last order of it, but before we left I was brought a Togo cup full of rice pilaf that was left over since they weren't making any more of the Marsala! Wonderful people, amazing food, and company so good you don't want to leave. read more

I had the Baja shrimp tacos and my boyfriend ordered the blackened mahi. It was dusted with seasoning instead of being served with a crust. We were discussing his sandwich when the owner came by and apologized for how it was prepared. He took it off the bill and gave us a slice of heavenly key lime pie. Yay for responsive owners! Nice bar type restaurant with friendly staff. We were super hungry when we arrived so I ordered wings as an appetizer. We waited a long time, I even asked about them as I made it clear to the waitress that I wanted them to come before meal. Well wings came with meal. Waitress took them back as we didn't want them with meal. Shrimp tacos were delicious but I had to pay for the side of onion rings. You would think for $15 you'd get a side. The onion rings were not hot when they were served so I asked for hot ones. They brought me back a hot side of onion rings and they were delicious. Key lime pie was good but for $8.50 for one slice? I'm sorry for $75 with a few draft beers this wasn't a $75 meal for two. More like a $45 meal. read more

Drove through downtown Marion on my way back from hiking tonight (Sunday night) and found this gem of a restaurant! I sat outside on their patio and had wonderful service! I asked about local favorites on the menu and the Oyster Poe Boy was recommended. She mentioned they may almost be out of oysters and recommended a combo of oysters and shrimp. I'm so thankful she did, it was amazing! Had the house special, Limoncello Martini too! read more

First thing out of my mouth after leaving: "If I'm going to pay $25 for a burger, I'd like my water to be given to me not in a fucking throwaway cup" Mahi Mahi was awesome, burger wasn't great but I'm sure others would enjoy it. Not sure if it was the bun or the sauce that was too much for me. Service wasn't perfect, I watched my server chat away in the back and take forever to bring us water. Atmosphere was okay, a bit dark. Probably not going back read more

My review is based off a dine-in experience. Cons: Poor food for the price -wife ordered teriyaki wings that were overcooked and too salty to finish -I ordered the steak sandwich which was cooked well, but covered in a gravy that was just salty gravy flavored. Dark restaurant smelled stale and a bit like cleaning solution/bleach. Pros: Friendly waitstaff, bartender, and customers Seemed to have lots of drink options -May have been a 3 star bar if I didn't order food Clean bathrooms read more

Crabby Abby's was a nice surprise on our way to mountain's. We arrived at an unusual time of day but the service and staff were very friendly and were attentive to us. We enjoyed the oyster and shrimp tacos. The food was hot with fresh ingredients . The cilantro lime sauce and slaw made them over the top. They offer full bar but still family friendly. My husband had a cold beer and we were on our way. Hopefully we will be able to visit there again sometime. read more

We had a great dinner at Crabby Abby's last Thursday. We made reservations after talking to the hostess, and was greeted at the door as soon as we walked in. The specials are usually listed on the wall which we immediately learned about from our waitress. My wife ordered the Broiled scallops and shrimp over linguine in a cream wine sauce ($29), and I ordered a perfectly cooked Ribeye (36) with grilled asparagus. To top off the evening we had a slice of the freshly made Key lime pie, which wasn't tart enough for us but was definitely an excellent example of Florida's favorite pie here in Marion, NC. This place just has that great homey and hospitality feel the moment you walk in! EXTRA BONUS...Thursday was 1/2 price bottle of wine night! read more

Wonderful food and waitress! The Harvest Salad was amazing! Tasty bacon , cherries, kale and Brussels sprouts & veggies . My husband had the crispy grouper fingers and loved them . We would definitely make this a regular favorite, but we are on the road for vacation. read more

We are in town just for the night and while we were recommended to try a different location, this menu (go to their website), seemed more what we were looking for. In the heart of Marion off of Main Street, this place is a gem. The staff welcomes you as if you are one of the regulars (we got to watch them greet a regular customer and there was no difference). We had Casey as our server and Kelly made special appearances at our table. Both of them were quite lovely and provided additional recommendations and local facts. Their Yelp doesn't have many pictures, their food is worth the visit. As a native Marylander I get extremely skeptical when a restaurant this far from the coast places "Maryland Crab Cakes" on their menu. I tried them and they were perfectly moist, not much filler, and were a wonderful substitute to the ones I find back home. Try this place and tell them Dawn & Paris sent you. You will not be disappointed. read more

We were visiting from out of town and dined here early (5:30) on a Saturday. We had the most amazing server Kelly! The food was great We four had: Crap and spinach dip (great warm homemade chips). Cheddar biscuits (perfect) Kale salad with shrimp, lots of shrimp, very good. Crab cakes, good could have used more crap. Truffle fries, so good! Also ordered one of the specials of the day, snapper. Beautifully cooked, very tasty. Kelly helped us out with switching some of our side so got eat the amazing special grits and Brussel sprouts. Thanks Kelly! read more

Good service. Reasonable price, good food. Nice location, quaint setting. Tried it for dinner when passing through town. Would go back.

Superb crab cakes and my husband and I could've eaten a gallon of the crab spinach dip appetizer! My husbands steak was cooked to perfection and he's rather picky about his steaks. Beer and margaritas were fantastic as well. Hubby owns a cidery, winery, brewery so he can be judgmental in that area. He loved his beer. We were too full to eat dessert there so we got our desserts to go. They made a wonderful snack. The waitress was super friendly and service was great. The place is clean and ran with pride. We will definitely be back again! read more

On a great stroll down Main St we came upon this venue. The food was great and we received wonderful service. We had our 2 kids and furry companion with us. We really loved the experience and ambiance of this place! You need to come check them out! read more

What a find!! Yah seafood !! I ordered the special halibut and absolutely LOVED it. Service was good. Server was very pleasant sit in the side room with the wood paneling. Ambiance and music were very nice. Would have given 5 stars but I thought $36 for an entree was a little steep read more

Valentines Day dinner with my Husband. We had an amazing time. Live music, Chardonnay from California, twin lobster tails (special menu) cooked to perfection! My husband had the lightly fried catfish with Jumbo shrimp. He said it was the best Catfish he has ever had. Service was on point. Let's not forget the biscuits!!! Yum-O! Yesterday I ordered a $20 plate of chilled shrimp and crab, and the crab tasted old and very fishy, to the point were it was inedible. I could not eat those and left them on the plate and informed the server that the crab was both smelling and tasting bad. The server 1) left the plate on my table and never inspected the crab and 2) dropped off the bill while telling me that the kitchen said it was thawed the day before and therefore could not be bad. As someone who has worked as a line cook for 10 years in a seafood restaurant, I know what bad crab smells like. The most offensive part of my experience was how no one even bothered to inspect or verify what I was saying, but instead left the plate on my table and dropped off the bill and told me I was wrong. How can that be done without even inspecting the food in question? This is inexcusable and unprofessional, and I left feeling absolutely defrauded. Crabby Abby's should be ashamed of themselves and everyone should avoid this place at all costs. read more

Wow, this place is a great little Main Street Restaurant. Camping in the area for the week and always like to try local places. Service was fantastic, a few solid beers on tap and the food was delicious. Not often that a place in the mountains has good seafood offerings but my wife loved the crab cakes and a family member had the Fried Fish and Shrimp. The Gouda Pimento Cheese dip and chips with Jalapeños and pickles was a great starter. I normally don't eat pickles, but these were house made and more like a vinegar cucumber and delicious. I had the Bistro Burger with Bacon, Grilled Onion and Garlic Sauce and it was nearly to big to finish. Britney was our server and did an awesome job taking care of our table. Like many places these days they were out of a few things because of supply issues, but they have enough on the menu to make up for it! Make sure to give this place a try if you are in the Marion area! read more

I decided to try this place out after reviewing the menu and pics online. I came specifically for the shrimp and grits. Here's the run-down: I got a cucumber mint martini which was amazing! The house salad was fresh and delicious. However, the ranch dressing was disgusting so I opted for balsamic vinaigrette which was great. As soon as my entree came out, I was disappointed. It was swimming in a weird red grease. The grits were supposed to be cheesy and creamy. But they weren't. Not at all. They were lumpy and bland and swimming in grease. The sea scallops were very good, but the shrimp tasted freezer burned, old, and rubbery. I ate the seafood and left the rest of the mess in the bowl. The worst shrimp n grits I've ever tasted. When an entree costs 26 bucks, it better be perfection. This was NOT. Service was fine. read more

Food was good but the younger girl behind the bar could care less. Poor service on a not so busy Saturday.

Staff at this establishment is great. And the restaurant came recommended very many people. Was great.. Although by the bottle prices were inconsistent with by the glass prices.
