Excellent food, excellent service, nice outdoor patio, and very friendly staff. I had a small barbecue plate with the spicy coleslaw (coleslaw with a kick!), which is excellent. Plus the corn bites as one side, also excellent. All portions are generous, and one of my pet-peeves is that they serve REAL BUTTER! Not the tasteless margarine nasty stuff that other restaurants serve. Ambiance is casual, nothing fancy, and it's clean, but that's not why you eat here... it's the food "grasshopper"!

If smoky, slow-cooked meats are your thing, you need to try this place. The brisket melts in your mouth, and the ribs are glazed to perfection. Each bite is packed with rich, savory flavor. Even the cornbread was moist and buttery. It's more than a meal--it's a BBQ experience.

Incredible food. Incredible!!! Literally a random stop for us - small town, time to eat, let's find BBQ and Smokey Que's appeared. We didn't regret a single bite. Pork is their thing, and the pulled pork was very tender and flavorful without being fatty. Bonus points for well seasoned fried okra.

Pulled pork was perfect as always, delicious sweet tea that was topped off multiple times, and perfect service with a smile. I have my choice of 3 bbq places every time I come out here and I always choose this one. I love the smoking gun smoker.

Cute place we stopped at after our visit to Mt Mitchell. Straightforward BBQ with a good sized menu and friendly staff. Our server was polite, and offered suggestions on some items she enjoys, which is very helpful since this was our first time here. We got an order of hush puppies to start. Very good! Next our sandwiches were delicious. My son and I both got the Smokey que sandwich. This was The most tender and flavorful bbq I have ever had! My son really enjoyed his too. My husband tried their chicken sandwich. It is a chopped chicken, so it resembles the chopped pork on our sandwiches. He said it was excellent. Overall great experience. Next time we are in the area, we will be sure to stop in for lunch. This is a great find in a very small town. Keep in mind, they are closed on Monday.

First, let's start with the service!!! Amazing!!!! The bbq sauce (sweet) is the runner up!! The slaw was perfect and the portions are just enough to fill you up! I ordered kids meal and was full!

Great dinner and great price, especially for the daily special. Good amount of food and the bbq meat tastes good even before mixing the sauce. My food comes with 4 delicious hush puppies and fried pickles were also delicious. My husband had corn nuggets on the side and they were also good. They have four big hush puppies The server was really sweet and she even brought different kind of bbq sauce so we can try them all. The only thing I wish they had on the menu was dessert.

Get the grilled corn and BBQ beans. The hush puppies I think were the best I have ever had. Perfectly cooked. However, the actual pulled pork BBQ was the worst I have ever had in my life, anywhere, at anytime. I'm 56. I've eaten a lot of BBQ. The pulled pork BBQ was more like pork jerky. It was very stringy and harder than jerky. Think hard-tac, like you are on a whale ship 100 years ago. One bite. Could not eat. Even the vinegar BBQ sauce was terrible. It was like straight vinegar. No seasoning. Which would not matter because the pulled pork BBQ was too hard to eat. I have lived all over the world. I have traveled extensively. Smokey Que's now gets the infamous rating of " Worst. Meal. Ever. " $25 wasted. I took one bite almost spit out. The second bite I did spit out. Not wanting to hurt their feelings of winning the award for the worst meal ever, I took a selfie in the parking lot and pretended that I accidentally left the take out box behind.

You guys...I really enjoy this place. More than anything, its the girls that serve us. Ya'll...theyre just all friendly, down to earth, attentive, helpful and patient. It makes eating here really enjoyable. The atmosphere isn't anything special or unique; just a regular old 'hole in the wall' type place. Casual and comfortable. Totally my style. So the food...thats some good damn BBQ ya'll. It isn't the best I've ever had, but its definitely above average. Their BBQ, their ribs, their catfish and their chicken tenders are all pretty frikkin yummy. Their red slaw and hush puppies are really yum. I'd love to see a creamy Mac and cheese hit the menu (hint hint). Theyre not intrusive about masks either...and i have to say, that's so refreshing. We can be comfortable. We can choose. Theyre a regular spot for us whether we're seeking take-out or dine in. Bonus...theyre prices are way reasonable and their portions are LARGE. I vote: go get your grub on. ;)

She said hands down, all 3 items were the very best she's ever had. Desert was equally as delicious, their Cheese cakes are nothing less than phenomenal - and lets just say their pasta salad and pimento cheese found its way home with us to enjoy with dinner that evening - amazing! I'd give them 100 starts if I could, a must stop if you're nearby - or worth driving if you're not. Can't wait until next year to come back!

We chose to split the Reuben since we have early dinner reservations and each got a side. Even at 1/2 the sandwich and side it was very filling. The sandwich was hot and delicious. The pasta salad was also very good. The desserts today was Banana Cake and Hawaiian Cake. I got a slice to go. Go for the good food and warm hospitality!

I stopped in my first day and got the LT sandwich, which was amazing, but I ended up spending almost as much time looking around the store as I did eating. The staff was also amazing--genuinely friendly, helpful, and happy to talk about the food and everything they carry. I liked the place enough that, despite having an entire city of restaurants I'd never tried before, I came back the very next day. This time I got the grinder, which ended up being my favorite, along with the roast beef, which was also delicious. Between the sandwiches, the people, and the frankly ridiculous amount of good shit packed into the store, everything about this place was great. There are plenty of places I didn't get a chance to try while I was in Asheville, but I have absolutely no regrets using two lunches on this one. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town. The menu is quite large, and it took a bit of time to decide on my order, but I ultimately went with a combo including a half ham wrap, a drink, and a side of pasta salad. The cashier was very good about openly telling everyone in line about price differences from the printed menu before ordering. Because the kitchen was experiencing a significant delay, it seemed like they quietly upgraded me to a whole wrap as a nice peace offering! It came cut into two parts, with one part wrapped neatly in foil. Personally, I really wish they offered a "build your own" option where you could just choose your own specific bread, meat, cheese, and toppings, rather than having to hunt through the large preset menu options to find a combination where you like everything. I was really surprised by how incredibly small the side portion of pasta salad was--about the size of a standard salad dressing container! I've honestly never seen a side dish served that small before, so I posted a photo of the two side by side to show the exact comparison. Next time, I would skip the combo entirely and just order the sandwich on its own. The ham wrap itself was really good, and the small bite of pasta salad was very tasty. However, it did take quite a bit longer than it should have for the food to leave the kitchen, so this slow wait time could definitely be an issue for someone on a tight lunch schedule.
