Alright here goes! So for starters this place had been on my mind for a while per foodies that made delicious videos through the screen! Reason for my 4 stars? It's a tad bit pricey in my opinion for some of the items and some were definitely worth it, also location is SUPPPPPPER SMALL. It looks ginormous in videos and pictures...seats maybe about 20 people inside and 10 people on the bar top not including their mini outdoor bar/patio seating. To start the drinks are yummmy, but I did notice there's a lot of artifical syrups and things in them considering the pricing of the drinks are legit about $14-18. I bartend so typically drinks that cost that much would have crafted ingredients and fresh batches of syrups and mixes. However, if it works, it works. I would just try to maybe work on that aspect to give better quality! Food, we got the baked oysters( they were really tasty and hot as sh$t so be careful when biting in, perfect balance of cheese and seasoning), seafood eggrolls( not pictured, but they were very delightful, too small though for the price. It legit is the size of a Vienna sausage=/ ), entrees: we got stuffed shrimp which were perfectly cooked and the they weren't lying about the JUMBO part, it was filling and you get two sides with it as well. Opted for mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts. Both were surprisingly TAAAAS-T. The sprouts are more on the sweeter side, but it's great. We also got stuffed salmon, salmon was cooked perfectly, not over cooked or under cooked considering its stuffed with crab cakes. Each bite was so worth it, I love salmon so I appreciate the flavor burst. Doesn't feel like I spent $$ on bland salmon like most places I go. For that we got asparagus which were flavorful, but not cooked enough in my opinion. Terry took great care of us, but they do need a little more organization. There isn't anything terribly remarkable about the venue to lure you in from the outside, as you walk in there's a long bar to the left with some table seating to right, not a huge spot which gives it an intimate feel. There's also a decent amount of patio seating as well. I had been hearing great things though and decided to check it out. The menu features apps like seafood egg rolls and crab & shrimp spinach dip, an array of seafood based salad options, salmon, shrimp, and crab tacos and quesadillas, po' boys, and entrees like grilled lamb chops and island pasta with prices ranging from around $10-$40. They also have a variety of cocktails ranging from pineapple mojitos to chili passionfruit margaritas which are priced from $14-$17. Service as a whole was excellent even given the high volume of customers at that time. I ordered the grilled shrimp tacos with a guava sunrise cocktail. The cocktail was refreshing and not as sweet as I anticipated it would be which was a positive, and the grilled shrimp tacos were delicious, great flavor fresh ingredients and came with 3 tacos so a good portion size given the price. The food was nothing at all that we expected it to be. We ordered the seafood egg roll. They give you two of the littlest and skimpiest egg rolls you will ever receive anywhere on this planet. I'd prefer the carry out's shrimp egg rolls and they would definitely be cheaper. We also ordered the crab fries. I have no idea what kind of crab that was supposed to be on the fries. It must've be crab seasoning but it definitely was not jumbo lump or backfin. It was not tasty, a little GMOish and just plain ole misleading. I really tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt, but after these two flops, we asked for our check and got out of there. Side Note- We left and ultimately dined at the Warehouse in Old Town. It was absolutely delicious, alcoholic drinks were cheaper, and it WAS REAL SEAFOOD!! Back to the review- The alcohol beverages were priced higher ($17 on avg) than establishments that are reputable and considered four and five star dining. The bartender is clearly just learning and she's definitely making drinks "by the book!" She's attractive but looks don't make good drinks. It's absolutely ridiculous. This was a big let down. To get a buzz you'll need at least three of these drinks. This seems to be their bread and butter. Finally, the only thing that we really enjoyed was the strawberry lemonade nonalcoholic drink. It was about $5 (overpriced in my book) but refreshing. This is a woman owned business, so I struggled with leaving this review. This restaurant is unprofessional, from the ownership, down to the waitstaff. Do not waste your money here. The food is alright, but not worth the treatment I've received. I visited this restaurant with a group of friends, and immediately noticed the weak air conditioning. I came about 10 minutes after the rest of my party had been seated, and they had their drinks. The server came to our table to ask for my drink order and if we were ready to order our food, but then she walked away before we could respond to her. She did this a few times. This was strange, but we gave her the benefit of the doubt that maybe they were understaffed. (Mind you, the restaurant had a few open tables and if you've been here, it's already small to begin with) We were finally able to put in our orders. (They also charge $8 for LEMONADE, insane. It seemed like they might have used fresh fruit juice, but that was still a ridiculous markup) About 5 minutes after we got our food, she asked us if we wanted any boxes, to which we said no, because we hadn't even started eating yet. She then brought some boxes to our table anyways, like she was trying to signal to us to leave. Then, after we had been there for maybe 15 minutes more, she began clearing our plates and asked us how we wanted to pay, even though we had still been there for less than an hour and some people in our party were still eating. We had also just asked for water, so she knew we weren't planning on leaving. To make matters worse, she even tried to take someone's plate while there was still food on it. At this point, we felt very uncomfortable as we clearly weren't wanted there. We split the check evenly and left with a very bad taste in our mouths. About a week later, I noticed that my card had been charged incorrectly for more than what I put on the receipt. I tried calling the number attached to this location listed on their website multiple times, but no one responded and their voicemail was full. After a few days of trying, I was finally able to leave a voice mail. I then had to go back and forth with the apparent owner of the restaurant, Giselle, who said she was out of town and spoke very rudely to me on the phone and over text. She insisted that I text because she said her service was bad, but then continued to have an attitude over text. When I explained to her how poorly her server acted and how she had even overcharged my card, the best she could offer me was a refund of only the amount overcharged and a free cocktail. Mind you, I didn't order any cocktails the first (and last) time I came there. And why would I want to come back after this terrible treatment? I tried to be patient with her as this is a Black owned business, and I wanted it to thrive, but not everyone should own a business if they don't know how to deliver proper customer service and make customers feel heard, and like they should give the business another chance. I had the stuffed salmon with brussel sprouts and hushpuppies. For drinks, I had the crab crusher and strawberry passion d'usse. I sat at the bar and had the bartender Sam - who was amazing. I always see the truck around the area, finally had a chance to try as they came to my community. Very good food, it appears this may be a family owned food truck service. I loved seeing the mother & son work together, he appeared to be a teenager and had great mannerism. Part of my order was accidentally given to another customer but they accommodated me for the mistake. The fryer was down so I wasn't able to order the crab fries. Food taste was great, reasonable price and cooked made to order. Unique twist to a crab cake sandwich, it's like a po-boy/roll style. Not pictured is the cold slaw, very good as well. Only suggestion is possibly keeping a dry erase board or paper/sharpee on hand to place a sign on truck/inside or outside window to advise of items not available. My visit to Crab Cab a week ago was not what I expected. I was hearing mixed reviews from people about this place. So, you know I had to go and try them out for myself. Me and my mom were out that way near Richmond Highway running errands that day. So, we decided to stop in for lunch. When I first entered Crab Cab, the space, to me, was super small and felt cramped. I was going to dine in but decided not to when I saw how close everyone's tables were to one another. We still wanted to try the food. So, we ordered to-go. The hostess that greeted us was pleasant and warm and gave us menus promptly. I ordered the Seafood Trio Quesadilla and my mom ordered the Grilled Shrimp Tacos. We also ordered the Crab and Shrimp Fritters and Seafood Eggrolls to share. The hostess took our order fast and we got our food in a decent amount of time. Unfortunately, since I had to eat my food in my car, I did not take any pictures of the food. Also, I'm only rating the food that I had. The Seafood Trio Quesadillas were okay. It did have a good portion of Cheese, Shrimp, and Crab in it. But I personally did not like the flavor in the background of the sauce. The sauce was too sweet and I typically do not like sweetness on my seafood. Plus, the quesadilla kept falling apart...the tortilla did not hold the ingredients very well. I would give the Quesadilla a 7 out of 10. The Fritters were super small, barely lukewarm, and lacked flavor...4 out of 10 for those. The Eggrolls were super small as well, but had it little more flavor than the Fritters...6 out of 10 for those. It's unfortunate that I didn't really enjoy the food because the customer service that I did experience with the hostess was a 10 out of 10, but the food average was around a 5.5 out of 10. I honestly don't think I'll be back. The dining area was too cramped and I usually like to dine in. The asparagus and side salad were fine although they put the side salad in the same container as the hot entree and side so the lettuce was warm and wilted. The brussel sprouts could have been good but it was basically 5 sprouts in a pool of sauce.
