    All Lump Crabcakes
    Robert B.

My girlfriend and I had dinner here on a Friday night, and it was fantastic from start to finish. We lucked out with a front window seat that made for great people-watching, and the atmosphere felt welcoming without being too busy. This was my first visit, but it was especially meaningful for her since it was the first restaurant she came to after moving to the U.S. from Ukraine. We started with the Gator Bites, which were perfectly fried and full of flavor. For entrées, I ordered the Steak Pontchartrain--a generous 14oz cut cooked to a perfect medium-rare, juicy and packed with flavor. The asparagus was crisp, the shrimp on top were excellent, and the sauce tied everything together. The mashed potatoes were smooth and delicious as well. My girlfriend had the All Lump Crab Cakes, and they were huge--juicy, well-seasoned, with a crisp golden exterior and lots of crab meat. Easily some of the best we've had. We paired dinner with a bottle of Paul Buisse Sauvignon Blanc, which was a great match for her crab cakes. Service was top-notch, and our waiter really made the evening, even sharing a story about his son finishing ROTC. It gave the night a personal touch. All in all, great food, great service, and a very fair check for the quality. We'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu--highly recommend The Warehouse if you're in Old Town!

I really enjoyed my meal, I opted for the Chicken Orleans sandwich w/ the Cajun fries. It was delicious! The chicken was perfectly seasoned and the sauce to go with it paired perfectly. The service was stellar! Our water never ran out and dirty plates were quickly removed from our table, this is what you call 5 star service. My only complaint was the restaurant being all the way upstairs! A little bit of an issue if you're handicapped or older but nonetheless, the atmosphere is what is expected for the "old town" vibe.

We love going to The Warehouse for lunch. They offer a broad selection of special lunch items and lunch portions of their signature dishes. The atmosphere is sophisticated and refined. Service is always excellent and informed. During a visit in March, we enjoyed the Grilled Principle Salad with chicken and apples, a cup of She Crab soup, and jambalaya, which had a kick to it -- in a good way. They were all well prepared. They offer seating outside and inside. We prefer the inside dining rooms -- either on the first or second floors.

My dad and I had our first visit to the warehouse tonight. I had heard great things about this place ranging from their great breakfast to dinner. We got there at 5:30p without a reservation and the host was gracious enough to sit us at a window seat, which was lovely (albeit distracting if you're a people watcher). Our server was friendly and the service was quick. We started off with the blackened scallops, which I had hoped would be 4 to split evenly. But they were delicious. My dad had the horseradish salmon, and I had the Trout Orleans also delicious. Will definitely be back to try other things!

I decided to try this restaurant out based on google reviews that mentioned their crab cakes. The decor and atmosphere is simple and elegant, and the hostesses polite and friendly. Unfortunately here's where we take a departure from the positive. The bread brought to my table stale and the butter, allmost too hard to spread. I barely finished one slice. Pomegranate margarita - neither Pomegranate nor margarita were to be found in this drink. It tasted like water down juice. Crab cake entree - though pretty much all crab, thankfully, rhe outer portion was incredibly dry and lacked flavor. The inside was slightly moister. The accompanying sauce did add some flavo, however, disappointed in this crab cake. Key lime cheesecake - is a key lime in the room with us? This was just a regular, mediocre plain cheesecake. My waiter's unpleasant demeanor only added to the disappointment. I will, however, remember the positive energy of the rest of the staff, the beautiful decor and the delightful conversation shared with the 2 ladies next to me :-)

We decided for a remarks dinner here on a Friday. They had outdoor seating with a little view of the water if you were looking just right. I enjoyed the Crawfish Étouffée. Because I am from Maryland I added in some lump crab. The server was so nice and welcoming. Definitely coming back.

Landmark restaurant on King St. in Old Town. There's always going to be that one special occasion that is going to bring you back here to dine. From short rib dishes to amazing salmon steaks, all of it is delicious. The servers are on point with the water, bread and service and the food is expedited in a timely fashion. However, the place can become a bit overcrowded the way the tables are assembled and the food is a bit on the pricier side for what is offered. Fun decor of character posters, easy to find on a main street.

This has been a go to since 2014. I live far and will still take a hike to The Warehouse. Their menu is elevated and food tastes absolutely delicious. The servers are kind and attentive. The ambiance is clean and there are vibrant painting on the wall.

Amazing portraits/cartoon drawings on the wall. Excellent service! We were seated at the window overlooking Old Towns main strip. I ordered the seafood sampler and espresso martini. Everything was amazing. The crab imperial was flavorful and it accompanied plenty of rice and veggies. I would definitely return to try a non seafood dish or just drink at the bar.

I was visiting with friends and we really enjoyed this restaurant. We were enticed to stop by the beautifully set tables outside and encouraged by the incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff. The menu was appealing to all of us and we were all very pleased with our selections. The bread and butter was tasty and I had the Chicken Principle Salad which was excellent. My other friends got an egg dish that had beignets and strawberries and cream. They raved on their meal as well. We are all excited to visit again!

I picked The Warehouse for a special outing with family. I figured the menu would have good options. Overall we were satisfied with our experience. We came here thinking that we would be enjoying brunch, but I got my days mixed up. We came on a Friday and brunch is only offered on Saturdays and Sundays. But nevertheless, we were already seated by the time I realized that I would not be enjoying a salmon benedict, and we decided to stay. The atmosphere is fitting for old town, for a dated, fine dining restaurant experience. The server we had was attentive. There was another server that was doing a lot of staring and we felt that if he was there to serve, he should have stopped by to refill our water or ask we needed anything. The side salad came first. The dressing was tasty. The entrees we ordered included the crab and shrimp ravioli and crab cakes. She thoroughly enjoyed the ravioli. I tasted some and the sauce is tasty and rich. There was enough shrimp to ravioli. I ordered the crabcakes, they were decent. The server informed us that the crabcakes were notable from here because they did not use a lot of filler, which was evident on my plate. The mashed potatoes seemed like they were made from a box which wasn't terrible, but not great. The food was satisfactory overall. I will come back to try the brunch.

    SHE CRAB SOUP
    Layo O.

Came here with a group of friends and enjoyed every part of it. Walked in and met my friend, there was no one at the front to seat me but it was an easy find. The service was nice, our waiter was very observant and helpful. I ordered the she crab soup as my appetizer and the New Orleans Smothered catfish as my entree which also came with a glass of champagne. I enjoyed it nonetheless. I really really wish they had a shrimp and grits meal. I would def be back to try other meals because they looked delicious!

    Blackened 7 oz. N.Y. Steak*

Went here for a weeknight dinner based on the previous reviews. I heard they had really great steak. I ordered the NY steak with potatoes and asparagus. The highlight of this dish was the potatoes, unfortunately. The steak was cooked to order (med rare) but didn't have much flavor. For $50 I was hoping for a great steak with some flavor. The service was quick, and the server was super helpful with food suggestions. It seemed to be very busy but the food came out pretty fast. I would skip this restaurant if you're in Alexandria.

Located just off the bustle of King St., Brut sits unassumingly among the Old Town townhomes. You could easily walk past, and not notice it at all. But, if you've dialed in Brut as your destination, be prepared to step in to an oenophile's wet dream. The establishment is both a bottle shop and a wine bar. Every bottle in the joint is carefully curated. There is no junk...no fluff...no quid to subsidize quo...all excellence, from any country or region your heart may desire. Do your Christmas shopping here, for sure. That shopping is going to make you thirsty, so pony up to the small but well appointed bar. Its no easy thing to find a bar with a good "wine by the glass" list, but Brut manages that task with ease. From your sauvignon blancs, through the pinots, to full bodied reds...take a flight of fancy, and walk home well fortified. Since the bar is small, and seats are at a premium, the owner Dustin does a masterful job of weeding out the Riff-raff. Trust me when I say that watching it is far better than TV. I cannot recommend this cool little spot more highly. Maybe I'll see ya there sometime!

We planned to enjoy dessert at the restaurant and also order takeout, but there was confusion and staff assumed the ice cream was to-go. The wait times were excessive: 40 minutes for ice cream 15 additional minutes for salmon takeout Another 10 minutes for the artichoke dip By the end of the visit, the delays and lack of attention made the experience feel frustrating and not worth it. The first two times, the food wasn't great but the location was nice and the service was decent so we came back a third time for the ambiance. We had to send back two small plates--the kabob and the mussels. The kabob tasted like the meat had gone bad and the mussels as if they were sitting in their own excrements for hours. However, we still continued ordering more plates and drinks because we were enjoying being by the water and my sister and I were taking our dad out for a nice day. The manager approached our table with a passive aggressive vibe. She asked why we sent back the food and we explained. She then told us that the chef tried the dishes we sent back. They tasted just fine to him. She let that sit there. I just blinked at her in silent disbelief. The awkward silence made my sister so uncomfortable, she began apologizing for sending it back. I interjected, and reiterated what was unpleasant about the two dishes. This woman had the gall to continue passive aggressively stating the chef tried the dishes, insinuating we were lying or...I don't know what. Keep in mind, we had ordered like five other small dishes, my sister, my dad and myself ordered two alcoholic beverages each. We weren't cheapskates trying to lower our tab by sending back 2 measly plates. I had half a mind to say; "I didn't realize the patron of this restaurant is the chef. Is HE paying for our meal and drinks--or WE paying for his and your salary?" Of course, I didn't say that. I've worked in restaurants for years before, so I continued sternly but politely reiterating we did not enjoy the two plates, asked for the check, tipped well, and never returned. The worst experience I'ever had in a restaurant. Ever. So much so that 1.5 years later, I still randomly think about it.

Except for those at the bar, the seating is so low that you end up staring at the wall rather than the skyline. Food & Drink: The menu is quite limited because there's no kitchen on the rooftop. Most dishes are prepared downstairs and brought up, which contributes to slower service. That said, the drinks are excellent--perfect for enjoying a cocktail with a view.
