After getting off an airplane, we decided to go grab a bite to eat. We wanted something really good, so we went to The Warehouse. It had been a year since my last visit when the food and service was impressive. I knew that we were in store for a great dinner date. We were greeted by our waiter and seated immediately. They were running a special for 2 salads, 2 entrees, 2 desserts and a bottle of wine for $140. We both selected the salad, fruitti de mari, strawberries with Chantilly cream, and a piece of bread pudding. The Sauvignon Blanc arrived nicely chilled. Our waiter poured the wine into the glasses for us. Unfortunately, the glasses smelled like it was wiped with a cloth that had mildew on it. The manager was alerted and she poured us fresh wine into cleaner glasses. The salad was basic with their house dressing. Our entrees were underwhelming. The red sauce wasn't seasoned & the crabmeat was questionable. I was shocked to see a spiny lobster in my entree instead of a regular lobster. My lobster was mushy and had to be replaced. The 1/2 piece of bread pudding and cup of strawberries was alright. I appreciate the manager for what she did to fix the problems, but the quality of the food unfortunately has gone down. We had a great meal here! Our server, Rosa S. Was amazing! She was attentive and kind and super helpful when we were deciding on mains. I got the seafood pasta special and my spouse had the gumbo. We also share oysters on the half shell and had a few cocktails. I would skip the cocktails, but the wine list is great. My girlfriend and I had dinner here on a Friday night, and it was fantastic from start to finish. We lucked out with a front window seat that made for great people-watching, and the atmosphere felt welcoming without being too busy. This was my first visit, but it was especially meaningful for her since it was the first restaurant she came to after moving to the U.S. from Ukraine. We started with the Gator Bites, which were perfectly fried and full of flavor. For entrées, I ordered the Steak Pontchartrain--a generous 14oz cut cooked to a perfect medium-rare, juicy and packed with flavor. The asparagus was crisp, the shrimp on top were excellent, and the sauce tied everything together. The mashed potatoes were smooth and delicious as well. My girlfriend had the All Lump Crab Cakes, and they were huge--juicy, well-seasoned, with a crisp golden exterior and lots of crab meat. Easily some of the best we've had. We paired dinner with a bottle of Paul Buisse Sauvignon Blanc, which was a great match for her crab cakes. Service was top-notch, and our waiter really made the evening, even sharing a story about his son finishing ROTC. It gave the night a personal touch. I really enjoyed my meal, I opted for the Chicken Orleans sandwich w/ the Cajun fries. It was delicious! The chicken was perfectly seasoned and the sauce to go with it paired perfectly. The service was stellar! Our water never ran out and dirty plates were quickly removed from our table, this is what you call 5 star service. My only complaint was the restaurant being all the way upstairs! Customer service has always been good, which is why I've continued coming back. Unfortunately, the quality of the food seems to have declined significantly. This past Saturday, I wasn't very hungry and just wanted something light. I started with the oysters, which were good. However, unlike most restaurants in Old Town, there was only one oyster option available, and there was no information about where they were sourced. I always appreciate having a few options and knowing what I'm ordering. Next, I ordered the Asian-style Korean BBQ ribs, and they were disappointing. They weren't Korean-style at all--they tasted like regular backyard cookout ribs. Even worse, parts of the meat were cold when I took a bite, making it seem as though they had simply been reheated instead of prepared fresh. For a restaurant with premium pricing, I expect food to be served hot and freshly prepared. I also ordered the fresh vegetables, but there was nothing fresh about them. They were overly salted, mushy, and tasted like they had been sitting in the refrigerator for days--or worse, came straight from a can. The entire meal tasted like leftovers rather than food made to order. I've visited The Warehouse several times because I live nearby, but this is now my third disappointing experience in the last few months. At this point, I can honestly say it's no longer worth the money. I don't mind paying higher prices for a great dining experience, but the quality simply doesn't justify the cost anymore. I genuinely hope management takes a closer look at what's happening in the kitchen. We love going to The Warehouse for lunch. They offer a broad selection of special lunch items and lunch portions of their signature dishes. The atmosphere is sophisticated and refined. Service is always excellent and informed. During a visit in March, we enjoyed the Grilled Principle Salad with chicken and apples, a cup of She Crab soup, and jambalaya, which had a kick to it -- in a good way. They were all well prepared. My dad and I had our first visit to the warehouse tonight. I had heard great things about this place ranging from their great breakfast to dinner. We got there at 5:30p without a reservation and the host was gracious enough to sit us at a window seat, which was lovely (albeit distracting if you're a people watcher). I got the Fruits De Mar for my entree which came with a half lobster, shrimp and jumbo crabmeat, my meal was bomb! There was so much seafood in my dish, they definitely don't skimp on it; it was seasoned perfectly and although it was a filling dish, it was light at the same time. My brother got crab cakes and he was not impressed, in addition his portions were small. I can't recall what my mom got as it was a special, I believe. I tasted it and also don't recall being impressed. The service was excellent, we had a very friendly, personable and attentive server. I really wish I could give half starts as I would give this place a 3.5, although my food was bomb, both my mom and brother's entrees did not match how good mine was. We came here thinking that we would be enjoying brunch, but I got my days mixed up. We came on a Friday and brunch is only offered on Saturdays and Sundays. But nevertheless, we were already seated by the time I realized that I would not be enjoying a salmon benedict, and we decided to stay. The atmosphere is fitting for old town, for a dated, fine dining restaurant experience. The server we had was attentive. There was another server that was doing a lot of staring and we felt that if he was there to serve, he should have stopped by to refill our water or ask we needed anything. The side salad came first. The dressing was tasty. The entrees we ordered included the crab and shrimp ravioli and crab cakes. She thoroughly enjoyed the ravioli. I tasted some and the sauce is tasty and rich. There was enough shrimp to ravioli. I ordered the crabcakes, they were decent. The server informed us that the crabcakes were notable from here because they did not use a lot of filler, which was evident on my plate. The mashed potatoes seemed like they were made from a box which wasn't terrible, but not great. The food was satisfactory overall. I will come back to try the brunch. read more

The highlight of this dish was the potatoes, unfortunately. The steak was cooked to order (med rare) but didn't have much flavor. For $50 I was hoping for a great steak with some flavor. The bathroom set is upstairs cramped and awkward, but the biggest issue was hygiene. Not long after, our waiter appeared and took our drink orders. Not even 2 minutes after our drink orders, our waiter and waitress arrived with our drink orders and bread with butter. The waiter then asked for our orders, and without writing them down, took our orders and menus. About 4 minutes later, the waiter arrived with our appetizer, calamari. Currently we are still waiting on our food to be arrived, having it be about 12 minutes after ordering, also I am currently waiting for a refill on water since I have been out for about 10 minutes now. The water was refilled about 14 minutes after it ran out, and our food arrived only about 18 minutes after we ordered it. Food- Appetizer- Calamari($15.00): The Calamari was very excellent in taste, especially for me not being a seafood connoisseur. I give it a total ranking out of 10 an 8.5/10. The flavor was even more brought out by the sauce that was added on the side, giving it a fishy, but great taste. Quite a quality appetizer for it being only $15.00. Entrè- Grilled Filet Mignon($48.00) One bite in and this was the BEST steak I have ever tried. The gravy and potatoes also added an even richer taste to the meal. Drinks- (Water) The water was very good tasting especially for not having any lemon/flavoring in it. However, there was an access amount of ice, which caused the water to soon run out. (Lemonade) The lemonade was also very good and was probably one of the best lemonades I have had before, unfortunately however, it was also full of ice causing it to soon run out as well. Dessert- Triple Chocolate Decadence- Quite an amazing way to end this meal, the chocolate was extraordinary and made the meal truly complete. The bread was baked very well, but the butter was too cold/hard to use. I ordered the salmon with lobster on top. It was very, very little lobster, especially for the price. The three asparagus were cooked well, but the plates could've used a lot more greenery. Mashed potatoes were standard and very good. The salmon was cooked well but lacked flavor. The parts that were heavily seasoned were very good, but I left most of it on my plate because it was flavorless. The hazelnut crème brûlée was also a bust- just way too dense for myself. I love sweets and do not shy away from decadence, but there was very little taste to the dish then melted chocolate. We chose the warehouse for our anniversary dinner and it did not disappoint! We were very happy with the ambiance and the friendliness of the staff. We want to highlight our waiter Mario who was quick , friendly and super attentive. The owner or manager also walked around and made sure everyone was taken care of and even helped the waiters out. He knew what we needed before we asked. The food was amazing with big portions. I could only eat half of my meal. I highly recommend the smothered catfish, she crab soup, and calamari! I have to agree with a some of the reviewers on The Warehouse Restaurant. I had the veal tenderloin which was a little tough. It was 1 3/4 thick and 5" round. It was placed over a little mound of mash. My friend had the seafood sampler, my wife ordered the 2 crab cake which was a mess when it arrived. The crab cake looked like it was someone's left over and my other 2 guest had the branzino which was ok. Sadly the service was slowwwwww at a 6:30 reservation. The restaurant was only 3/4 full when we arrived. The atmosphere was comfortable and is reflected in their pics. Average price was reasonable at about 45-$60/ entree. Went to the restaurant with a friend. I wanted to assure she had a great meal as we enjoyed the Alexandra vibe. Been to "The Warehouse" many times. In fact it had become a staple for the Hubs and I to visit. Always enjoyed the Catfish with the crawfish gravy. This time however the focus was more on breakfast. We both ordered catfish with eggs and veg. Wanted to make things a bit more healthy. Fish was under seasoned... greasy.... Blah! Super disappointed. Eggs scrambled cooked until dry and flat.... Ugh.... Veg was steamed, bland, unseasoned.... Tiny portion.... Dammit! Needless to say I was pretty displeased.... Seems like the quality of this long standing, neighborhood go-to is diminishing.... I think I found a new favorite dinner spot!! The Warehouse exceeded all of my expectations. The menu had so much to offer, it was hard to choose just one thing. I ended up trying the Fruits de Mar (picture included). I think the picture says enough! Pasta with half a lobster tail, crab meat, and shrimp-- SO GOOD. The service was great too. My original reservation got messed up somehow, but they still sat us very quickly. The server was attentive and kind. Why haven't I heard of The Warehouse before. I was in Va and did a Yelp search and this amazing restaurant came up. For a Sunday evening we were able to get a last minute reservation. Upon entering the hostess was very pleasant and seated us early. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. From the appetizer to the entree all of our food was fresh and seasoned to perfection. The oyster's taste as if they came right out of the ocean. Our catfish was seasoned to perfection.
