Cozy Table would receive six stars if I could rate a place that high. No joke I actually considered not reviewing this place because it is sort of a hidden gem in my book. If you don't go after the church rush, you will likely have a 0 minute wait with your server coming up to your table approximately 10 seconds after you are seated. The food is plentiful and delicious oh and CHEAP. For all the food in my pictures plus a soda, it was $22 with tip. Wow. I love this place even though it is a bit of a drive from campus. read more

Hometown diner, great service-I think the people working there have been there awhile which is a good sign. Always nice and quick to get your orders/food. I'm a huge fan of breakfast and brunch at The Cozy Table! There are so many choices on their menu so you are spoiled for choice. They have some really unique combinations and my absolute favorite is the Gyro Breakfast Skillet. Hashbrowns, gyro meat, tzatziki sauce and an egg is a match made in heaven. I always get it when I go there! They cook the eggs well and they are pretty attentive to customers. It is typical diner food, simple but tasty! Huge portions for good prices. It's definitely a diner. A lot of townies so you can get away from the college kid vibe. It gets pretty busy in the mornings. The place itself is easy to miss - I drove past it for years without realizing it was there! It doesn't look like much from the outside. My only dislikes would be that they don't serve real maple syrup with their pancakes and use some high fructose corn syrup fake stuff instead. I don't like the fake butter either. We like this hole in the wall, (A compliment). There are many small restaurants in Bloomington. This is a college town, so getting food not hard. Getting good food a challenge. We eat here when we go to the Farmers Market. Except when IU plays home games, then you might have to wait for a table in the parking lot. Good food, good portions, good service and good prices. They have a diverse selection of breakfast and dinner options, many with a Greek twist. We are a big fan of the breakfast in particular (especially the French toast and pancakes!) The reason I am giving 3 stars is the service. Our waitress barely checked on us or gave refills. For whatever reason, she checked the tables around us or just stared out of the window the majority of the time. She was friendly, just hard to reach out to. This was honest to God the lowest priced Breakfast place I've ever been to, so I was a bit concerned on how big the portion sizes were going to be. However, I was incredibly surprised that the portions are massive! I'm a pretty big guy so I usually eat a lot, but I could barely finish a single entree+the side that it came with. I came to cozy table for a good plate of biscuits and gravy and was utterly disappointed!! the service was amazing and the staff was very friendly, but the biscuits and gravy had absolutely no flavor!! Simply the best breakfast in Bloomington, there's no question. Sure, there might be more popular dining spots, but considering the quality of the food, the price and the portions, Cozy Table has no equal. My go-to is the Athenian skillet, though I've never been served a bad dish at this place. The staff is kind and attentive, and they're sure to refill your coffee every few minutes. Seriously, you'll walk out the door BUZZING. Anyway, I can't say enough nice things about Cozy Table. I lived in Bloomington for seven-plus years and tried all the spots. My son and I stopped for a quick breakfast. The service was super friendly, and the prices very good. I had delicious French toast, on the thick bread. They use real maple syrup thank goodness, and they somehow get a crunch on the outside of the toast which was unusual and delicious. Really, really good. I live near here and always thought it looked like a typical dive. Then a billboard popped up on 37 and I thought...really? They have a billboard? So I decided to check it out...except that it turns out you can't get a table if you go after about 11:30 AM. So, fast forward to yesterday and I was FINALLY able to get a table. The food was delicious. I ordered the veggie skillet, light on the cheese with over easy eggs. It came out perfect (which surprised me, to be honest). This place is great and I often grab brunch here - but the best place for breakfast it is not. I mean, it is a tasty place but with their 8 page menu, you know that lot of what they are serving up comes frozen. Went to The Cozy Table with a group of ladies. Waitress was nice; food was good. A couple of the ladies got the tenderloin, one broke off a piece of the tenderloin for me to try; it was a frozen, very salty and over spiced piece of flattened meat to me, but they both said they liked it. I prefer fresh cut meat, hand breaded and fried right then. I had the Greek Salad. It was very good! Ask for cucumber to cut up yourself and add to salad and then it is perfect! Wish they had hummus on the menu. Took my husband there at a later date. The Waiter was very nice. My husband got an omelet, pancakes and hash browns. He couldn't eat it all and had to bring it home. He said there a couple of other items he would like to try. It is not a fancy, copycat chain. It is a locally ran, clean and good restaurant. read more

Having good conversation with our adult children finished our breakfast. When not our waitress but another waitress at 11 am said. "We appreciate your business and all but we have a line forming." My friend found this place through the Urbanspoon website which we've never heard of and we're both excited to give it a try. It turned out that it wasn't bad at all! I ordered the usual American breakfast that contained 2 sunnyside up eggs, hashbrowns, sausage links and they come with a piece or two of french toast. My friend ordered an Omelette and we were so stuffed beyond words! I love that I get french toast as a side rather than usual white or wheat toast. The prices were pretty reasonable since the portion were huge for the both of us. We figured that we should have ordered a meal and shared. The waitress that we had was very friendly, helpful and nice. Best breakfast service I had so far! The place itself looked like an old diner, a clean and cozy one I'd say. We were both glad that we tried this place and most of the people there are locals. Not many college students know about this place I assume. This is the best breakfast place in town. Bar- none. The menu is great, the prices are pocket/economy friendly and the service has always been great. I can only speak on the breakfast items, because I haven't made it to anything else. They have several vegetarian friendly(my fav is the vegetable skillet) items and several meat-hungry items. The problem would be that there have obviously been some leaks in the dining room ceiling. Spending a couple bucks on new drop ceiling tiles would go a long way. The staff was very friendly when we came in and we were seated quickly. The table was clean, if a bit cluttered by the condiments and coffee cups. The straws for the drinks are wrapped in the silverware, which I found charming. Once we ordered, our food was at the table in less than five minutes.
