This is a great little general store not far from Tulip Trestle and the Sculpture Trail. If you're in the area, I highly recommend pairing your trip to Yoho with a visit to those two attractions, by the way. Yoho is under newer management within the past few years. Order food at the counter and find a seat within the small dining room. There is also ice cream for sale, and a wall with various food and treats to purchase. Everyone here was friendly, and it looks like a regular spot for the locals. If you're in the area, stop in!

I accidentally overate at Yoho General Store after a nice walk at the Sculpture Trail. I was there at an odd time so there weren't other customers and I wasn't sure if they were still serving lunch or if I needed to seat myself, etc. One of the employees sweeping the dining area immediately noticed my lost look and directed me. I learned I order under the "Order Here" sign and seat myself. :-/ I had a cheeseburger, fried mushrooms, a piece of lemon meringue pie and a fountain drink. The pie was a splurge I rationalized by telling myself the burger was "probably" going to be small. And I just couldn't help it, they were right there. So my food comes out...I don't know what size the burger actually is but it's not small. No complaints, it was really good-especially the bun, which was soft but didn't get smooshy with the ketchup I added or the lettuce, tomato and onion. Despite being full, I did manage to eat the lemon meringue pie; a refreshing and not too sweet citrusy slice of joy. Yoho would also be a great stop to pick up a picnic lunch and some snacks to enjoy at one of the nearby parks. They do offer "cold" sandwiches on their menu and general supplies in the store; snacks, candy and staples. Prices aren't listed on their board so you have to ask, but they're a great deal.

After hiking a nearby canyon forest, I decided to refuel my energy by stopping in at the diner inside Yoho General Store. Being a small town, it makes sense that a business offer convenience to its customers. So, there are a few rows of items that you might find at a general store or a grocery, and some "grab and go" items as well. On your right is the order counter; cheese and ice cream counters too. On the back wall is a large nostalgic menu that is more for gags showing high prices on all food items listed just to see your reaction. The actual menu is written on a chalkboard over the order counter (note that no prices are listed, but everything is really affordably priced.) I decided to go with a breaded tenderloin and a side of fries. No payment, no ticket, no name taken. Just grab a seat and they will bring it out to you. I grabbed a water from a dispenser and selected a spot and took in all the local flavor of the place. Before long, my sandwich and fries came and they were really good! The tenderloin was moist and tender and large, but not ridiculous. The fries were long and crisp with a soft inside. Ketchup and seasonings were on each table along with napkins, so I could adjust them to my tastes. I was quite full, so I passed on getting one of the eight flavors of ice cream. As I paid on my card, I noticed that the machine didn't let me add a tip. The cashier said they didn't believe in tips because all they did was bring the food out and clear your plates when you finish. I felt bad about not leaving something, but the lady was so pleasant, I understood that they were okay with it and felt it was part of being a diner. Note: They don't show prices because they do adjust the prices depending upon their costs, but I was able to get the tenderloin for $5.29 and the fries for $1.99 plus tax. Note 2: They also directed me to a local tourist spot about 8 minutes to the west of the restaurant/store. They also promote the local sculpture park, so add 'Visitors Center' to the listing of this place. Great people and really tasty traditional food at a low price. I left smiling! Review #1588

Went for dinner on a non-football weekend night and had great service. Helpful guidance on menu choices and super attentive without being a bother. The room and bar are handsomely decked out, with comfortable, well-spaced tables and banquettes and booths. Makes for a fun setting. The food is seasonal and local -- lots of corn and squash this time of year. The chicken roulettes are excellent, as was the beet salad with Calabrian honey and whipped feta -- a nice sweet/hot combo. The steak frites was perfectly cooked to medium rare as requested, and accompanied by scalloped potato fries. Don't miss the desserts, either. The sweet corn creme brûlée with popped sorghum was totally new to me and delish. The chocolate medley was also excellent. Kudos for well-made cocktails too. Great experience and 100% different from everything else in town. A little NYC in IN.

$60-70 Let me tell you what I experienced on 2/13/26…read more We had an OpenTable reservation, and our group traveled to Bloomington (from Carmel) for a play. We tried calling several times throughout the day to notify FARM that we needed to change the reservation because two of our guests were ill and would not be able to join. The restaurant's phone just kept forwarding to voicemail. We arrived at our reservation time and were told that we would be charged via OpenTable for the guests who did not join. When I mentioned the phone issue, the hostess said that it did not matter if we had called today, because the cancellation policy is 24 hours in advance. I did not know they would be ill 24 hours prior to the reservation - but whatever. I was not happy, but did not argue the issue. We were seated, only to find that there was a prefix "Valentine's Day Menu". We thought that was interesting because we had researched the website & menu before the evening, and there was no mention of this menu being the only option for Friday (2/13) night. Even the menu PDF says "Valentine's Day" - there were signs throughout the restaurant noting "Valentine's Day Menu". The server also mentioned that many other patrons were upset. The items on the menu were also priced far higher than the regular menu. So, we were excited to try FARM, arrived to a very sassy attitude (from the host) about the party size, noting that I was going to be charged. Getting to the table to see a modified menu, whose prices were jacked up. The (very sweet) server validated our feelings and confirmed that other patrons were upset, too. We finally just decided to leave. On the way out, the "sassy" host was snarky and mentioned that we would likely be charged again for the remaining guests leaving and not eating. I have pictures of the signs, and screenshots of the website - and I dare FARM to charge me for their false advertising. At least note the website, signage, and OpenTable if you are following modified menus or processes, and train your team better!! We were thrilled to try FARM, and left saying that we would NEVER go back. So disappointed :(

I did not get a smile from a single hostess or waitress. While the decor is a vibe, the seating is uncomfortable and close. Our son was constantly having to move his chair just so the waiters could get by. Our family enjoyed the garlic fries appetizer. I ordered the breakfast poutine and it was a soggy mess. I concur with other reviews that the menu lacks diversity. Perhaps their evening menu is more appealing. Overall, we were very disappointed.

A random Yelp find, we ordered the blackened salmon and a burger. The salmon is the best I have ever had. I feared the seasoning as I am not a pepper or spicy girl. It was neither. Whatever they use, it's perfect. The grilled seasonal vegetables that came with it were unique and top notch. On my second visit, I couldn't bring myself to order anything but the salmon - doubt I ever will. The mozzarella sticks were HUGE and filled with cheese. The wings were great too and our server was kind and prompt. The hostess took time to answer our questions about the history of the location and is the one who recommended the salmon. We later spoke to a manager who relayed it is fresh salmon that makes it so good - so much so that IU sports team request it frequently. The inside of the pub-like setting is spacious with different levels and sides. There is small outdoor seating where dogs are welcomed. The only negative is parking. There is very little street parking nearby and no adjoining parking lot. This can be a problem for this with mobility issues and in busy downtown days. I wish they could fix this issue. Highly recommend this enchanting restaurant.
