Hand Breaded pork tenderloin and fries
    Eric T.

I've heard so many great things about their Tenderloin that I had to stop and try it out, let me tell you it did not disappoint!! The Boars Nest is an all ages establishment, with a family side and a separate over 21 only bar side. They host live music and karaoke on the weekends. The beer is cold, the people are friendly and the service is great!! The food is very good and flavorful as well! I've had the breaded pork tenderloin and a secret cheesesteak that's not on the menu and you have to ask for it, both items are very good and enough for 2 meals!

Hwy 67 Boars Nest, Paragon IN Breaded Pork Tenderloin was hot, crispy, tender, and at least 1/2 inch thick. Delicate seasoning complimented the flavor of the pork. Flavorful bun. Fresh veggies. Comes with fries. The spicy cheese curds were mighty fine, too. Wicked good cheese pull. Good service. Clean place.

    Tenderloin with onion rings

Stopped by to try out the tenderloin that I've heard good things about. The tenderloin was delicious, but the star of the day was the onion rings. The rings were the best that my hubs and I had ever had. We'll be back.

During all the time I was clearing out my late father's home in Putnam County, I really wanted to…read morecheck out Central Normal Tap in Danville. The timing just never worked. However, on a recent trip back to visit my parents' grave, I finally got the chance to stop in and check it out for a bit. Central Normal Tap is basically a laid-back, charming pub and grill with solid dining options, craft beer, spirits, and a terrifically friendly vibe. I'm not sure if terrifically is really a word, but I'm sticking with it. Located on the east side of the Danville Town Square, this is a great place to hit if you're doing some visiting of the town square (and you should). It's not an all-day joint. It's really from evening into the night hours. The town square offers free parking (with accessible option). While there are stores on the square that are not accessible, Central Normal Tap is pretty darn good (some of the tables are a bit high and there are a handful of booths that have a step up). Dining options include pretzels, wings, flatbreads, and more. I didn't spend a whole lot of time here, but I enjoyed the time I spent. The vibe was a nice tapestry of smaller town charm with a modern energy. The food was tasty, and the service was absolutely top-notch. I would easily return, though I might avoid when it's super busy as I could imagine accessibility being a bit more challenging just due to the layout. For those who wonder (I love origin stories), the name comes from Central Normal College, a former college that moved from Ladoga, Indiana to Danville, Indiana in the 19th century and lasted until just after World War II. It's a part of Danville/Hendricks County history (you can learn more about it at the Hendricks County Museum).

That right there told me they don't mind being different in the style of food they serve! After checking over the menu full of wraps and burgers amongst a plethora of other bar food I ended up getting some wings to try and the house made chips. I got half my wings in the BBQ flavor and the other Buffalo. Being honest the wings weren't anything special but they did hit the spot and the BBQ sauce wasn't anything special to me on the wings but if it was used in some pulled pork or ribs I believe I would enjoy it more. The buffalo sauce was really good and had just enough heat to need the ranch here and there. The house made chips were good, not overly seasoned and not over cooked either. The place is small but has a handful of high top round tables and a few bigger square tables in the front with a decent bar strip with plenty of bottles and beers on tap. The pool table in the side room looked like a great area to hang around and play some pool while enjoying some beers with the company of friends. Next time I'm in town I will try one of their countless burger options!
