I have been a Cox subscriber for 2 weeks and I could not be more disappointed. I know, 2 weeks isn't that long and even seems to weaken my case, but check it out... I am 51 years old. And I've been around for the entire ride--seen it all! Yep... saw the early 80's wall-mount phones, VCR's and TV's you changed channels by hand! In the late 80's I actually recorded my (now 30-year-old) daughter's birth on a shoulder-mount VHS camcorder. Early 90's, 20lb, 2 hand cellphone--had one. Late 90's beepers & early 2000's dial-up (12 hours to download a movie!)... saw that too. "Streaming"? Forget. About. It! I have seen it all! And now, in 2018 (and in a mere 2 weeks!) Cox Internet Service has made me pine for the speed of 2003-era Internet! We've been in the Chicagoland area our entire lives and have ALWAYS had to choose between excellent providers (comparatively speaking) and none of them were as bad as the crappy internet service that Cox Cable has "provided" in just our FIRST 2 weeks. If you have a choice... choose ANYTHING other than Cox Cable in the Phoenix, AZ area unless spotty, 2003-era dial-up is your thing! read more

Cox homelife service is very very poor. An absolute nightmare, alarms going off in the meddle of the night that you can't turn off. Had to take a hammer to it to make it stop. I could not use the system for months but they still keep charging me for it. They show up and fix the same thing over and over again. The last service guy finely told me that the systems they sell would not handle one as big as mine and I would need to have a two hundred dollar repeater to make it work. Cox is the absolute WORST! Unreliable doesn't even begin to describe their services. If you can get ANY other provider then you should. A server hooked up to a hamster wheel with an overweight gerbil is more reliable than what Cox offers. We're out in Tartesso (Buckeye) and there is atleast 3 outages a weeks since we've moved (July 2021) into our new house. Let's not even get into their customer service. Those people are useless. Getting help from them was asking Hellen Keller for directions. It was going absolutely nowhere. Long story short, go with anyone else if you can. The only my family and I have Cox is because they are the only provider in my area. Even that might not be enough to keep them. We have had Cox for over 2 years and have to go into the store to exchange our remote every 2 to 3 months because they stop working with no warning. Internet is SLOW and down along with our TV and phone daily. Have lived all over the western states and have had the worst service EVER here. No one seems to care when you call and get put on hold forever to speak to someone who knows less than you. Would Never tell anyone to use Cox. We pay premium prices for absolute awful service. Will be shopping around for better service and it can't be too hard to find. read more

If you have any other choice you should stay far away from Cox! We started with a bundle of cable television and internet. The service was interrupted several times a week for a year. We finally decided to change to Direct TV approximately 8 months ago and have never had any problems or interruptions. We continued with internet service and during our most recent outage we called for a credit and were told that we have internet & cable.... we have been paying for cable since we cancelled the cable service and returned the TV boxes to the local store. We were told that internet alone is $44.00 and we have been paying $78.00 for both, even though we stopped all service and reordered internet only! I have seen bigger companies fall/fail due to misleading it's customers or generally ripping off consumers! Cox is a SCAM as far as we are concerned! read more

I said I just had one quick question and she said sign in and we will be with you. I left because the only question I had was if I could exchange my cox equipment here. I had a good experience at the store in Surprise to add NFL Red Zone. I had to call billing to move my due date out to the end of the month. The nightmare began after that. I received an email saying I was behind on my bill and I owed 97.41 and my cable would be shutdown at some point. No one mentioned this at the store. I called the morons at customer service and all they said can you pay now? Their billing makes no sense. So I paid the 97.41 because that is what I owed for moving the due date. Yet i looked at my bill and everything was due on my new date. ??? Lo and behold I received an email that tells me I now owe 186.34 and I'm behind. Didn't bother to call customer service. So they said I could pay that now and I went to see what I owed and it said 205 due on my new date. Who's on first? The sad thing is I'm not late with anything. All this just to change a due date. Horrible. Not great speeds and the WiFi constantly goes out. Somethings I can't do my school work and I end up failing the assignment. When it was out for 5 days a rep replaced our modem and it helped for a week. Now it's trash again. Do not recommend. People in my neighborhood say the same thing. I am forced to use Cox as they have a contract with my condo complex. They are HORRIBLE! They quote you one price + when you receive your bill it is double what you were quoted. I have internet +it works 50% of the time. They have their fancy "solutions" storefronts with a bunch of phoneys standing around looking important. Why don't they close those + lower their prices? If you have a choice use DISH network, more channels for 1/2 the price +better customer service! read more

301 E. Bell Road, PX AZ - Last month I went to this address to pay my COX bill and it was a 5* experience. In and out. Went in Lady CSR asked me if I wanted to use the ATM looking machine to pay my bill with my CC and I said no, I don't use ATM machines prefer to do it with a person. No problem she took me and paid my bill. YESTERDAY I went to the same place, the place had people all over. Standing, sitting and I though how odd (3 7 18 around 1:30 PM). Had to sign in I hate the sign in as you have no clue as to how many people are in front of you: you only see your name. Was waiting around and started a conversation with two other ladies waiting. She said she was there just ahead of me when I asked how long she was waiting and she said a long time. I thought ODD. So we are waiting for around 10 minutes and no one seems to be going anywhere and the 3 of us are not happy campers. In walks this man stands ahead of us and sure enough the CSR takes him ahead of us. I asked to see the manager. Spoke to a guy COULD NOT HAVE BEEN THE MANAGER maybe in training but definitely not the sharpest tack in the pack. To be fair, he was also was not the CSR that took the guy that jumped the line. I asked why the guy got to jump in front of my friends and myself and he says the guy came in signed in and left and then they called his name. YEA, RIGHT. So then I ask him how log of a wait is there and he says 20 minutes. I responded i already waited at least 10 what is the hold up. WELL the hold up was the guy I was talking to FORGOT TO TURN ON THE ATM LIKE MACHINE. So no one wanted to just pay their bill could pay it at the machine. Today I called to complain about it and what a surprise, the same location shows with two different phone numbers. One says closed this is at 11:10 AM so I tried calling the second same location with the second different number and NO ONE ANSWERED AT ALL. I gave up after 5 minutes. I find it sad that my original experience was so G R E A T and the second was such a downer. Is this location always so erratic? FROM 5* to 1* in one visit. read more

Very dishonest and not-caring. They sent a flyer advertising their JBL Clip 3 ($30 off) and failed to provide the final price, I looked online (with no luck finding the price from Cox) and called the store and they didn't answer. I went to store and found out that even with their $30 off they are still higher that other local retailers even located in the same mall. I called customer service and talked to two supervisors (Elizabeth and Darrien) they couldn't be any less caring, Elizabeth seems to be hazed and out of it (very weird) and Darrien was just not caring.... save your time and money and she somewhere else where they value your business. read more

Worst experience of my life!!! Was told that we were going to get a great monthly service charge for $168.00. Instead I got a bill within 30 days for $1500.00. They couldn't fix it I was told. No one had the authority. After endless phone calls to remedy the situation we have nothing but headaches and now a bill for $2000 has arrived at my door after I cancelled services and they picked up equipment weeks ago?! COX told me to take my router to a COX store and replace it with a new one.Checked and signed in. Twit with COX logo told me i had returned a module, i said no, a router. He retrieved the one i had brought, said OH!!!! Told me that COX now only used a module/router, price $11.99 a month, $144 almost every year for ever and that COX no longer used that kind of router. I told him that i had BOUGHT the module i currently have from cox on installation instead of a monthly charge. He said that doesn't matter, you still have to use our new type of module/router. I went to Walmart and bought a new router, (same as the old one but more up to date) for $39.99. Installed and works perfect. This is an example of COX !!!!! read more

After getting a postcard in mail for a $50 VISA card if I entered into an online new 2 year contract I went to the FLW Scottsdale store to discuss and had a negative experience where the person I talked to saw my billing had changed the previous week to be significantly higher but when I asked what could be done for phone, internet & cable he said there was nothing that could be done to lower it. He told me to call billing to discuss options. In Surprise in the afternoon, I stopped in the Cox store and Devon worked with me in an excellent service manner to find what was important and not in my services and redid my offering to fit my needs and brought my total billing down to make me happy living the store. She left me as a happy customer and with no thoughts to drop my services. Great job Devon but not so good for the gentleman in the Scottsdale store today. David R. read more

Since switching to Cox from CenturyLink our internet has more than doubled in strength and all for $12 extra per month. We switched in Fall '16 and won't go back. The upload rate between Cox and CenturyLink are honestly incomparable. Cox is superior, hands down. I gave 4/5 stars because there are occasions when our download rate will get pretty weak. I recently signed up for Cox's $89.99 bundle (tv, internet and home phone). I wanted to be sure of the final price and was told $112 a month, all taxes and equipment fees added. My first bill was over $120 and every month it grew!. After the 3 month of my locked in price, my bill was over $160 because the "television provider has raised their prices"!!! Even though the price was supposed to be good for 12 months AND they were still advertising the $89.99 price. This is a dishonorable company and I would not sign up with them! read more

I was paying for unwatchable tv stations and sporadic internet connections. Today we scheduled a transfer of service for our internet with COX COMMUNICATIONS because we are moving soon and they mistakenly shut off our internet TONIGHT instead of February 24th like we asked. Now their "Teir 2 experts" not only told us they cannot turn it back on because our router model is (suddenly) out of date and being phased out but, they also hung up on us after spending an hour on the phone with them. Cox tv, internet and home life sucks. I been a loyal customer to them for years. They have no comparison when you call in and ask them for help with your bill. That's what I did on (9-10-2018) they couldn't help me instead they claim there was nothing really they could do to help me. Even if they took away channels and lower the internet I would still be paying what I am paying now. There are a money hungry company, that can't help you when you need help. I have a 2 yr contract for home life, it is home life the internet and tv bundle. I am so sorry that I stuck with them for years, paid my bill on time. We've had some trouble with our download speeds and received a free service call. The technician was polite but seem to have some confusion on how router channeling works. He recommend that we replace our router but upon further research we were able to reconfigure our router and resolve our issue. I would advise anyone to read up on their WiFi equipment before calling for service as these technicians cannot be expected to to know everything about the thousands of configurations. That said, I wish they did not PRETEND to know and give advice on replacement. read more

I would give this company a minus 10 if possible. We pay over $250 monthly for cable, internet, and phone (still stuck in dark ages for ADT, for homeowner purposes). I've been w/o my tv for 4 days, the 1st night I was on hold for 1 hr & 27 minutes, then finally hung up. Don't have time or patience to go thru all that happened, but was sent the wrong remote (days later), then was told "our remotes are universal", lol, no, they're not. They sent me some cheap remote that doesn't have the voice command. Of course he puts me on hold, surely embarrassed about "all our remotes are universal". At the end I spoke w/Lilly, she was an amazing employee, that deserves a raise, or to work for a better company. She listened, showed empathy and did her best she could. She's actually the only thing good I have to say about this company. They suck. Good luck finding anyone else, they get to charge you whatever they want, give you terrible service, longest hold times I've ever seen and employees that can't stand their job, but there are not a lot of choices out there. My husband and I came in to upgrade our account and Matt, the representative, was absolutely amazing. Not only did he give us the best option, but he advised us about the dual band modem that we needed to fix the issue we have been complaining about over and over again.... Since we had come in to the store at least 3 times prior and explained the issue but no one said we needed to upgrade to the dual band modem. We must say.... Cox is the worst cable provider I have ever had the misfortune of having to deal with. While they are quick to take their high-priced payment for at best what is an average to below average cable product, they do not show the same intent in dispatching a repair tech should one be needed. Same day repairs are not to be had and very often late in the second day is the best that they can do. Also, don't be fooled into leaving a number for the "call back." read more

My internet drops out every other day, I have unplug the modem, restart my computer to make it work again. Every other day. So after getting tired of it for 2 weeks, I called to have them come look at it. They came and said something was installed incorrectly but they fixed it. And they did. I get my next bill and there's a $60 fee on it! I called and they said they have to charge me for sending somebody out there - sending somebody out to fix THEIR mistake and I"m the one paying for it!? Are you kidding me? But no they are not kidding, it is in their policy that they will charge to come out and fix anything. $60 is more than I pay for the services each month, I don't know what they are thinking. RIDICULOUS. After my 12 months are up, definitely switching companies! read more
