Cox screwed up my mobile bill. I have called 5 times and though they agree my records show I have a refund coming, it never appears. When I call and they either say it is will be fixed or cut me off during transfer. The phone wait time is over 10 minutes. These people have the worst customer service I can imagine. I recently started service with Cox Internet, and unfortunately, my first experience with tech support was extremely disappointing. When I called for assistance, the representative lacked basic technical knowledge and tried to upsell me a $100 on-site service, despite my issue being tied to a brand-new installation by Cox itself. After requesting to speak with a supervisor, I was deliberately delayed before being transferred. Sadly, the supervisor was even less helpful, and the call ended abruptly without resolving my issue. Constantly have no Internet. They are more than happy to charge you over $100 for spotty internet service that often goes out for days at a time. You have to call and ask to be placed on the latest promotion....which is is fine until you are told by the customer service representative that your current bill will reflect the "new promotion" but it's literally only $2 less which means you still owe $18 more on your bill. Complete trash. Can't wait to get rid of this Internet service now that other, much better, providers are in the area. Do not recommend, would leave negative stars if possible. read more

Cox is a terrible company. I can't say enough bad things about them. First of all, I tried to have consistent Wi-Fi with no success. They finally came out and one of their service guys when he uninstalled the previous homeowners service left splitters in the box. This caused our Wi-Fi to be bad for the past years. When he removed it, it was a little better, but not perfect. Second of all they raise their prices every year. Every year I call them and I get a promotional discount. This time I called and they gave me a $20 "promotion " . I told them I would take it for now however I need to search for a better option. They said fine no worries and glad they could help me for now.. I did end up switching to Wyrred. I can't say enough good about Wyrred. Now I go and call Cox and tell them I am canceling the service. They advised me that I have a two-year contract and I have to pay $160. I said I did not sign any agreement for a two-year contract mother's I verbally advised! Their customer service said that it was a promotion from their loyalty department. Also, I had told them that I planned on switching and they should've at that time advised me that it would be a contract. So being I have been with them for eight years first two was a contract and there after no contract. I am livid. Can't believe they did this and I should not be surprised. They are going to go through the phone records to see if I was advised of a contract and it's been over a month with no result. I am now getting charged a $25 late fee for the $160... I have never been late on any payment to Cox. I called and after being on hold for 38 minutes was disconnected when he tried to transfer me back to the billing department. Every time I call, I speak to someone who does not speak English very well. Seems they don't understand what I'm trying to explain. I am done with this company. Do not do not go with Cox! Horrible company in everyway possible, look for anyone else. Way more expensive, and constant outages, horrible service, and they will constantly jack up the price and take things away or add additional restrictions to your plan out of the blue with no notice or sign off. They give you a decent deal to get you in the door and on contract and then just screw you from there. When you call in they could care less, been a loyal customer for 10 years and I am paying double what a brand new customer would pay? Later, they used to be the only option. Absolute garbage. I moved out of my last apartment on May 30, but then got billed for June and July. My accounts been closed, but my card got auto-billed regardless, and I've now called about 5 times (separate days, each call a long obnoxious experience of being passed like a hot potato to various departments, having to re-explain my issue to each new person)... several official requests for refunds of my stolen money submitted... all subsequently denied by management with no satisfactory explanation, prompting a new call. Cox literally just billed me for months I was no longer living there, the internet box UNPLUGGED... stole my money and refuses to refund me. I've never felt more like "just a customer" than I do right now with Cox Communications. I paid off my balance in full on 10/2 which btw did you know their collections team is now third party only? When I called to settle my balance I was told I was transferred to collections not A THIRD PARTY, I was actually told that due collections being the one to do the transactions this is causing an internal error, their system still shows I owe money. Because of this, I can't get Cox Mobile, and I'm stuck paying a lot more with my current provider. After being handed around between teams, no one is taking ownership to resolve it. Customers deserve better than backend issues that impact our lives and wallets. Be careful paying off your debts this experience has been ridiculous, I truly hope Cox will address this quickly and take steps to ensure others don't experience the same situation. read more

Zero stars Cox has misled and wasted my and my mother's time on several occasions. I haven't even got my service up yet and I am on a deadline. First time home buyer. I need cox so I can have Wi-Fi to run my ring alarm system. Everything I need to do depends on having wifi. I get that. My alarm system gets installed and I can keep my discounted home owners insurance. Then once I have an alarm system going I can bring my valuables to my home finally. As is all of it is in storage. Cox is holding me hostage and refusing to do their job. My retired mother with a heart condition came over so they could install a line so I could get my service up. The tech did nothing. Said my lines were cut and he needed to escalate the ticket. But then he also marked the job as complete so he could be paid for it. So he falsified documentation to cox saying he finished the job. When the next set of techs to install the permanent line reached out they said he failed to do his job and install a temp line so I can get my service up. So I had to schedule another appointment with my limited availability. I told them it was an install. A temp line and I didn't want cox adding new holes to my house. I said they could use the previous lines and areas. To run it through that or the attic. The next tech came out and same thing. He wanted to drill and install things for a temp line. Damaging my house and putting holes in the walls for lines that would be there for less than a week. When I asked for a more creative solution that didn't involve drilling screws up my walls and half way around the house. The supervisor was rude, disrespectful, and said I then need to find a different service cancelling my work order and wasting my time again. I am a veteran who just bought his first home. I am having medical issues and on top of that the stress of cox not fulfilling their obligations and calls while blowing me off twice is not ok. He cancelled my install not even letting the tech try. Every day cox blows me off is another day I am paying for storage, run the risk of a break in with no alarm system, and another day I can't bring my bed and possessions to my house. Everything hinges on the ability to have an active alarm system on my house. It even can cost me hundreds in having lost the discount applied to my insurance. I had 30 days to get this done and cox has already wasted 3 weeks of it not doing the job. The supervisor Abused his authority canceling my service call, work order and installation ticket. He didn't like that I was upset and said he would document these things in his report. I set up my service on the 6th of July. 22 days later I still do not even have a temporary line. And this guy Mike Chartrand cancelled my call saying I would have to either call back and reschedule or I would have to find another provider. I have a right to be upset considering one of his techs lied to my mother saying there was nothing they could do when they were actually supposed to install a temp line until they could come out and run new cable. Then because I was the last call of the day the second time and the tech didn't want to do a "3 hour job" I was told I would have to reschedule again even though I had the appointment and the tech was there. The supervisor refused to help or dispatch additional help to get the job done. I told him if it didn't get installed I would lose money because of the discount on my insurance would go away and I would owe back what was given... And he said again then I need to find another provider. read more

The worst internet experience ever. I had cox for three years in Mesa and then two years in Tempe and it was solid, I never experienced a single outage. I recently moved back to Mesa and we have had MULTIPLE (well over ten) outages for over 4 hours at a time for the past three months. As a student who also works remotely who also pays for the "best" package they have, I'm beyond irritated at the lack of consistent service as well as customer service. It's expensive and horrible. My promotional pricing for a 500Mbps ($50) plan ended, so I purchased another promotional plan, 1 gig for $60. With the 500 Mbps, I averaged about 230 Mbps. I've never done better than half of the "up to speed" with Cox in all of the years I've been with them. The 1 gig plan boosted my speed to 270 Mbps!!! Not even 1/3 of the up to speed!! Customer service suggested that I upgrade to the 2 gig plan! Now, each day no one shows up and they reschedule it to the next day leaving me, sitting at home for hours each day, waiting for somebody who doesn't ever show up., Actually spoke to a supervisor twice who guaranteed my service tech would be there the next day. I cancelled my service after getting fiber installed through their chat. It took multiple chat sessions to finally be able to cancel since there is no easy option for this. I went through the process with the representative via chat who confirmed my service was cancelled, my bill for the rest of the month would be prorated, and there would be the cancelation fee. Fine. 2 weeks later after being out of town for a week, I was charged my full bill via auto pay. After calling customer service and being on hold for 30 minutes, struggling to get them to verify my account without forcing me to come in physically, they told me my account had never been cancelled despite them seeing it in the chat record, and because the service had been used since due to devices autoconnecting to the old wifi without my knowledge, they refused to prorate the bill. I would give negative stars if that were possible. Cox forces you to sign a very one-sided contract, then raises your rates despite the contract. And without giving the required notice for the rate increase. When the contract term ends, they claim that it automatically renewed even if you contacted Cox and specified that you did not want the contract to renew but wanted to go to month-to-month, they told you that you were moved to month-to-month, and they increased your rates because you were allegedly month-to-month. Then, if you later call to cancel the service, they say you cannot cancel because you are in a contract. The service is terrible, frequently dropping. The speed is pathetic. The customer service is worse. If you think you have no other option, look into Starlink, which is true month-to-month with great speeds, little to no downtime, and great customer service. We switched as soon as we could get out of the non-existent contract that Cox claimed we had. read more

A lot of "maintenance" outages. Prices rise nearly every year 20$+ with no noticeable increase in reliability or speed. In Arizona, they cap data at 1.2TB per month. Its nearly impossible to not hit that with current streaming and work from home, forcing you to pay for a very pricy 50$ unlimited upgrade. I would say 90% of the time, I don't even come close to having speeds that I pay for. One of the worse internet providers I have ever had. read more
