Cox is absolutely HORRIBLE. Aaron Willis was the supposed "supervisor" that I spoke to, which I am pretty sure gave me a fake name, and he was unable to help me in any way shape or form. I just lost my job and had $50 to my name, was willing to pay the last of my $50 and I asked for a 7 day extension and they could not accommodate whatsoever. Cox is the worst internet company you could use. T-Mobile has helped me way more than Cox ever has and I hope that this company stops false advertising the fact that they will "help" you cause they don't care what situation you're going through they just want money. read more

After my father passed away, I called Cox to notify them and to ask that they no longer charge his account for services and to send me information on how to get the box sent back. During this time I was dealing not only with the death of my father, but my mother had passed away one month earlier, so I was not in the right mind and did not respond to their e-mail until almost a month later. Because I didn't respond right away, they charged my father again for another month of services, even though I notified them of his death. I called again this time to get a refund and was told that a check would be sent and that no death certificate was needed. Approximately a month later I called to find out where the check was and was notified that the someone would call me back. About two weeks later I called again and was told that the refund had been denied. After spending an hour and a half (no joke an hour and a half) talking to not only one person for an hour but then to a supervisor for half an hour and I was told that because my father can't authenticate the account over the phone that they couldn't help me. I spent probably a good 3+ hours on the phone with the worst customer service in the world. I will never do business with Cox ever. My dad was loyal to a company for over 30 years and they gouge him for money even after he's gone. What a joke! read more

Not to mention I tried canceling the other day online and the guy said he was sending me a text code and I never got it - he tried 3 times- so he tried to email it and that did not work either. (Somehow magically I got the one today immediately) Then because it was not going thru I had to try to send a picture of my ID front and back and take a picture of my face. It kept saying no match. Cox had had a monopoly in my neighborhood for 25 years. Now, Wyyred Fiber Internet is here and there's competition. My service never exceeded 80mps down and 14 up. Now I get 300+ up and down for $25 less per month. When I tried to cancel my Cox service, it took 20 minutes and a barrage of questions that I refused to answer as I just wanted their service cancelled. Cox doesn't understand that this is one of many reasons that I don't want to do business with them anymore. If you can dump Cox, do it. read more

Worst customer service I have ever delt with. First they set everything up and then I get a text message saying there was issues with my order so I called and they said that they cannot ship my equipment that I have to go into the store pick up the equipment and then once I have the equipment I can schedule for somebody to come out and install it for me which makes no sense so I call back and another lady said I don't have to pick up any equipment. The technicians bring the equipment with them so she's scheduled my appointment. My appointment was supposed to be the next day from 8 to 10 AM. It's 1130 and nobody has text me or anything so I called and they said I was never on the schedule and that they haven't noted that I have to pick up equipment. They will not bring it to me. On my recent bill I have a charge for $75.00. It is a charge for cancelling their complete care program which I never authorized or asked or was told of any monthly which was on my previous bill which is the reason this service was cancelled. So disappointing- we had been with Cox over 35 years since they started in the Valley. I oversaw a great deal of cable installed in the tempe area during that time. Since then they have gotten so greedy raising prices constantly, while other companies like Verizon offer better service. Just to be clear, it didn't start out this way, but it ended up badly. After a week of no clear cable TV channels that did not have digital tiling and the ability to watch a show complete. I called for help. Went through the troubleshooting with the technical department. There was no resolve that night. I set up an appointment and had a COX technician come out. He did not get passed the box on the outside of the house. He had found that there was a wheat transmission coming from the main junction box where our cable connected to. We have a commercial line from the box to our house that was installed for clear signal for my daughter's business Internet. Fiber was not available at the time of install. The technician pulled the readings at the junction box and found the signal going in was nominal, but a switch in the box was not functioning correctly. He could not change out the switch since I was not his job. So he had to call out a team to change it out. There was no given time on when that would happen. He advised it should be within 24 to 48 hours. A week and a half later, I am still having tiling on my TV. No specific channel, but it will still present. The technical team wants you to go through all the troubleshooting again to figure out where it's coming from. This should have been addressed within 48 hours of them changing out the junction block that's when things get interesting. I called him. Customer service, waited for a representative for a half hour, got hung up on, and they did not return the call. I got on the chat and they wanted me to go through all the technical troubleshooting again, so they can determine where the problem is. Mind you, I have been without good cable TV for three weeks now. My wife is bedridden, and I have had to go to other resources for her to be entertained rather than use the cable service I am paying for. The topper to the whole thing is, my bill just went up again. After asking for the discount for the weeks that I have not been able to fully use my cable TV, the representative solution was $17.01 towards my bill. I asked for a supervisor to call me and they told me that they don't do that. Needless to say, I can't move to my new residence in Nashville soon enough. At least there I have options. It would've seen that if the cable TV provider had a monopoly that they would be willing to work with their customers. I would hope that if you are considering this video option for your home that you would take speed and not promote this companies revenue. read more

Terrible, do not use COX for your intranet provider; from Tempe, Chandler, and moving to Awatukee (785 credit rating). For 5-7 years and numerous phone conversations, their customer service was nothing but problems. If you move, your old account (balance paid in full) still shows up and your new account shows delinquent because of poor technology and updates... they will hold your account delinquent for $25 dollars, even when you request moving or paying balance off, they can't find you're recent account. Maybe this just happened to me, but I will buy a satellite service around Phoenix Metro area. I'll never use Cox again until they update their customer service program and software. read more

Cox has placed blame on the customer instead of taking accountability of their own agents mistake. Regardless of the recorded evidence I have of my chat interaction to cancel my service, chat/text supervisor Diego, deflects and states there is no record of my conversation to cancel my service with chat/text agent Diana. However, I was able to confirm I had a cancellation confirmation email received, however, my services were not cancelled. Diego states that there is no record of this interaction on their system. I've provided Diego with screen shots and even a screen recording of my text conversations up to my last text to Diego, and he refuses to provide support to correct the issue Diana caused. We have been without service for almost a week. How can Cox allow that? Customer Service says that there was damage to the fiber optic line and that it could be awhile to fix since they have to get a permit from the City of Goodyear to fix the problem. I find it very hard to believe that the City does not give an over the counter permit to make a repair. I believe there is more to the story that Cox isn't sharing. Listen, I know this is a cliche and all, but Cox doesn't even deserve 0 stars. This is by far the WORST internet service provider someone may have the displeasure of being stuck with. To begin, the quality of the internet for the price is below the average line of other named brands (AT&T, Verizon, Wyyred, ect), with their prices far surpassing $100 for 1GIG download ONLY, while the upload remains at a measly 50 Mbps. Admittedly, I have rarely found myself ever needing these upload speeds, instead requiring the download. BUT, this leads to the next major pitfall of this shameful provider. The reliability of Cox is, without a doubt, the most horrendous and anger-inducing part of the whole experience. For 3 years now, every day is met with a period of unusable speeds that aren't even enough to load a Google page. I wish I could pinpoint this issue to something on my end, but I have gone through literally everything in my power. I have been connected to the Ethernet, changed the router 3 times, cleared any obstructions to the cables that connect the house, and used a disgustingly large assortment of cables and positions for the router. All of which have led to the same disappointing result of unusable WiFi and internet connection. The customer service is also the embodiment of being there to take your money. My family and I have contacted Cox over the phone probably a dozen times within the last 2 years, and have heard the same story every single time: "Pay us x amount of dollars, or call a technician and your problem will be solved." Well, even if you fall for this scam, you will regress to the same reliability and speeds as before, just now with less money in your hand, but in the hands of the greedy corporation that doesn't care about the customers. Lastly, the responsiveness to THEIR outages is genuinely hilarious. When there is an outage, which seems to be biweekly at this point, the time it takes their technicians to fix the issues can range from half a day to a day. Overall, if you are looking for a provider that is there for you and can at least give you a fairer price for what you get, don't go to this awful provider and save yourself a year's worth of headaches and regret. read more
