My husband and I visited the Olive Avenue location to switch our cell phone service to Cox from Consumer Cellular and to set up service in our new apartment as we relocated to a larger unit within the same complex. We were there about two hours with a wonderful young man named Caesar. He is very talented, educated and thorough when it comes to dealing with another service provider and moving the service. Consumer Cellular didn't make it easy but Caesar knew how to navigate around their process and set our new service up in my name. He helped me with Equifax as well to temporarily lift a freeze on my credit report so Cox could run a credit check. It was interesting watching him move quickly and smoothly on our phones and his computer navigating the various screens. He's fast, efficient and knowledgeable. I love this location Everyone who works here is wonderful and customer service oriented. I will use this location anytime I need service. read more

They close at 19:00, but Yelp says 18:00. I came in around 17:30 and the place was packed with people waiting. I came to pick up my new modem. They appeared to have three or four staff working. Nobody said anything when I walked in. They told people that came in after me to sign in. I'm not sure how long all the waits were, and the check in kiosk wasn't helpful at letting you know. Surprise, they have a check in after you enter that just says Hello on the front. Apparently you can get Cox Mobile as low as $30 per line for up to five lines. The black Friday steal allows you to get an iPhone 17 Pro on them with eligible trade in, must be why the sales person kept trying to get me to get one. I wasn't impressed with the assistance online, so I wasn't expecting much from the store. After my name was called the person tried to sell me a phone. I know it would lower my price, but I don't need an additional phone, even a burner though I'm sure some people could use that. They've got music playing pretty loud, so I couldn't hear the associate too well. Once my name was called, about twenty minutes later, I spent about five minutes with the associate. I need to return my old modem within 10 days, but he told me I could just pay for it. I'm sure my many years of renting it paid for a couple of them. read more

I was only trying to set up internet, when Rafael at the Olive and 51st ave store in Phoenix Arizona set me up for a "promotion" that I never wanted. He LIED!!!! straight to my face about what the one time fees are. He told me they're a fee of setting up the internet. Which are actually fees to pay for a Homelife camera I never wanted. It added up to nearly $130. When the actual price of the internet (which was not disclosed) was $49.99. It's only been three days since I've set up my account with cox and I'm planing on switching providers unless this issue is resolved. I just received my first bill, and it was for $196.51 when it should have been $49.99. Absolutely horrible customer service and not a single ounce of transparency. To clarify, this review is NOT on Cox Communications as a service but instead a review on this location. The staff here are fast yet efficient workers. They're able to manage their time well especially when there is a sudden burst of customers. Always friendly and helpful staff at this location. I just went in today to turn in some of my Cox business phone system parts. I was in and out in no time. Love that! Plus, the gentleman that helped me was able to quickly help me identify which cable cords were mine and that I could keep. I appreciated the help since HDMI cables, Ethernet cords, etc can be pricey and this will be nice to have a back up. read more

On 05/30/18 at approximately 6pm, I went to COX to pay my monthly $92.00 bill that I've been paying for over a year. I told the lady is there any ways to have my bill cheaper? Maybe the online deal? She said "that's only for new customers." So is it possible to maybe like cancel and sign up because I think $92.00 is ridiculous. COX I am currently paying $86 for 150mb of high speed internet service, which in reality has been more around 30-50mb if it's working, which working is a 20% success rate at that. I have called and chatted to customer service seeking a resolution to my slow and spotty Internet at least 4 times since February 15th and have been blown off getting a prewritten generic answer "Due to COVID the increase of people working from home has caused our services to not be reliable". Which I get it, COX was not prepared for the large amounts of people using the internet all at once but let me tell you what else they are not prepared to stop doing and that's taking your overpriced monthly payment... right? So I asked polity to all the representatives to please be credited for the months of spotty service and again I get the generic answer. "Our system will automatically refund you for any problems or outages I am unable to refund you" which let me assure you their system will refund you $5 if you're lucky and only take in consideration of 10% of the actual outages. Keep in mind I'm paying almost $100 a month for Internet that is not usable at all... due I get to say. "sorry I'm not paying this month because you did not supply our agreed product I purchased?" NO they will shut you off. Oh can I switch service providers? NO they own the contract for my neighborhood no other service providers are allowed to provide quality services in their area... As we speak I'm sitting on my couch on my cell phone writing this Because guess what there is no Internet again. So what does it take for me to get what I pay for? They didn't have the courtesy to tell us the phones were not working and the router isn't working. We called and cannot get anyone here until Saturday. I had the best customer experience with Randy at this location. He helped me return old equipment, asked me how much i was currently paying a month, he was able to help me save $30 each month plus a home camera. He was very nice and professional, and took the time to review my account and found a way to help me more than I expected. I was a personal banker for 7 yrs and I was always used to looking for opportunities in addition to servicing customers needs and I feel he did the exact same this. Wonderful experience overall. I plan to stay with cox for a very long time, thanks to this young man. Good job Randy!!! I hope you get a raise and your hard work is noticed by leadership. read more

Cox has the worst customer service!! They sure do not communicate when it comes to scheduling you to start services. I had an appointment today to install Internet, cable and the security system and when the technician came he said he was not able to install the security system due to Covid because they cannot come in the house. Which is understandable, but they should've warned me that security systems were not being installed until next month! I called customer service to schedule the security system installation (AGAIN) and the guy that helped me gave me the first appointment they had and told me they would install this Saturday!!! ( i thought they weren't installing until next month) No communication between the departments whatsoever!!!! read more

Honestly, worst place I have been to. Randy has set-up my Cox accounts twice and messed them up both. Added telephone services when not asked, approved services noting that "the price would stay the same man so it's worth it" when indeed it was an additional cost, and then my account being canceled after 10 days (which we are only on day seven & it's canceled?) for an error on their end. Oh and did I mention not once was I notified that my account would be canceled. In my opinion this man should not be selling anything on the floor and be re-trained to properly help customers. I'm not sure if he is trying to get his sales quota up or something, but it has been nothing but hell working with him/Cox. Very disappointed in this location. read more

I have been a loyal customer of Cox Communications since it was Dimension Cable. Here I'm the valley. I won't go into the NUMEROUS complaints I have had over the years BUT this weekend I finally made the change to CenturyLink. I have had it with the poor connection. I used to pay over $200 per month for the whole shebang but last year decided that internet was enough. My bill was still $80 per month and has gone up twice since then. The connection was terrible but I stupidly kept paying for it. Today I called to have the service cut off on the 24th which is when CenturyLink will install and those hateful little devil's went ahead and cut me off right away. Add phone, internet, tv=$99 & change + 30 in taxes, FEES, & blah blah blah = approximately $120.00 I wasted so much time with customer service. They tell you they will call you back but they don't. Second bill and I cancelled my service. I initially was going to just cancel television and phone and they told me that my internet was $89. I said nope I'm not buying into the Monopoly. This store has messed up more stuff with my account than I have ever seen. Though they are nice and friendly, it appears they really don't know what they are doing. After editing my service a few times and changing equipment, they don't properly update their systems so I'm still being charged for equipment I turned in months go. For another situation they added my account in their system twice so during activation they spent several hours trying to figure it out. And when I activated new equipment they gave me equipment that wasn't comparable with my services which caused much confusion for the Cox operator when trying to call in for technical assistance. Came to this location to sign up for internet only, the sales agent Lily placed me on some type of Promo that she alleged would be cheaper than internet only and stated that she would issue a credit onto my account for the duration of the promo that was to last for 3 months, gave me a bag of equipment that I have not used because allegedly a tech was coming to install and never did, I only use the internet since that is the only thing I knew how to connect. Long story short, I Paid almost $300 in store for what I thought was the down payment for the equipment and my first month bill that should have been $133. A month later got a bill for $612 went back to the store to ask the same sales agent Lily why my account was so high, she issued a $50 credit and sent me on my way with no regard for what she had done to my account and potentially my credit. Now I am left with disputing the charges on my own and with a bill that is higher than my car payment and cell phone bill combined and only had service for 1 1/2 months. Definitely seeking legal action for the false and misleading sales approach and for the invalid charges, the agent placed my card on auto pay that I gave to her to pay for what I thought was down payment and new service fees and without my knowledge. I have never been treated so condescendingly!!Literally unbelievable!! While trying to help my 80 year old father get a non-working phone line fixed in Arizona the phone assistant was so rude and degrading I was almost speechless. At one point I had to say to 'Kelly' the male "helping" me to stop talking to me that way just because I was a woman. That I had a degree and was intelligent. Anyone who knows me knows it takes a whole lot to upset me to a point for me to speak up. This not only reached that point but went way over the top to the point where I needed to place a complaint. Absolutely awful company! I'm not going to pay and smile anymore! The problem is there is a monopoly here in Phoenix, and Century Link is just as bad! The difference is about $38 a month. I would rather pay less for the same problem. Actually, I have less problems with Century Link than I do with Cox. I only had to call Century Link about once a year. I have to call Cox at least twice a month. I'm going back to Century Link. Cox gets worse everyday, and this is coming from someone who pays the bill on time religiously every month. I constantly have "planned" outages at least every two weeks, but Cox can't be bothered to inform their customers. They say it's not planned, but the technician tells me different when I walk across the street, and inquire. I've not had access to my email for over two days.
