I mean, from the moment I walked in, I could just feel the spirit of hospitality, and you know that matters--because as it says in Scripture, we are called to welcome others with a joyful heart. Now, first things first--the atmosphere? Absolutely darling. Soft lighting, fresh flowers on the table, and everything just so clean you could practically eat off the floor (though of course we behaved ourselves, bless it). It had that cozy, peaceful feeling that just makes you want to sit, sip your sweet tea, and talk about all the Lord's blessings. And the food... well, let me testify. I ordered the fried chicken, and honey, it was crispy in a way that felt almost divinely inspired. Juicy, flavorful, not a single corner cut. The mashed potatoes were smooth as silk--honestly, I told my husband they reminded me of what manna must've tasted like if it came with butter. And don't even get me started on the biscuits. Five of my friends and I went to this place where they have been before to have a drink. Wasn't that busy at first and it became really busy but they only had one bartender working. I didn't understand why there was only one bartender working. It doesn't cost that much to have an extra bartender working, and if its slow, you can always send that person home early. People were leaving after not being able to get a drink. That's bad management if you ask me. There were at least 50 people there. Eventually, another bartender came on around 12. Who would of thought the best lumpia I had would be in a country dive bar. The service here is immaculate. The girls who work here are beautiful and attentive. The security guards do their job with professionalism. Got through the line quickly and efficiently in a respectable manner. Update.. I went back with a group of friends after the game. Just going with the flow. The bouncer whose friends were beating on the kid who was not fighting back.. pulled me out of line. Tried to interrogate/harass/shame me in front of people about "calling the police on them." Asked me why I'd come back. Told me I only saw half of what happened. Blah blah blah. Lots of condescending questions in attempt to retaliate. He was extremely cocky & condescending. Like he got a kick out of it. lol. He was really enjoying it. However I called 911 because a human needed medical attention and was getting beaten without fighting back nor initiating a fight. Apparently the bouncer believes that if you're too drunk while inside the club that you deserve to be punched in the head and throat by multiple people. Again while not fighting back and trying to leave. He also said that his boss agreed and didn't think anything was wrong. And it's basically not their job to protect people. He was enjoying scolding me. He had no remorse nor did he care about the kid who his friends jumped. All he cared about was that I TRIED TO GET HIM FIRED, IT DIDN'T WORK and "they won." Haha. Gross. I will gladly let that security officer try to make me feel bad if it potentially helped someone not get seriously hurt or killed. So Cowgirls can make light of the situation, but nobody who is not fighting back or defenseless deserves to be brutally hit repeatedly. Instead of being professional by simply telling me I couldn't come in because I called the police, posted a bad review and sent an email (as asked by the owner). This man decided to rudely pull me to "have a talk" with me. Be dramatic and drag out some ridiculous conversation. He intentionally TRIED to embarrass & verbally harass me. I kept asking what are we doing here? He continued to speak down to me. I had to ask another guy at the door "am I getting in or not." Absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. Apparently the owner condones this behavior and is perfectly fine with emotional and physical abuse. Looks like women get the brunt of it based on other reviews. read more

I had my birthday celebration with about 20+ people and had tables reserved for my party, they gave us 2 complimentary champagne bottles, as well as an amazing server who was so sweet and super fast!! The staff, bouncers, and manager were all very kind and everyone who came said they had a great night there! I definitely recommend hosting a party/get together at Cowgirls! Absolutely unacceptable experience. I was excited for a fun night and "Fledge" the bouncer took my ID and told me I'd have to call the police to get it back, despite me being of legal age. He didn't even offer me the chance to provide another form of identification. This led to a completely unnecessary 911 call, which could have taken resources away from a real emergency. I told him I needed my ID for my flight back home because I am not from Seattle and he did not even give me a chance to speak. Extremely awful experience. I came to Seattle for a work trip. I was assaulted by the security at this location. The "security" shoved a metal door open (when I was asking for help due to a fight going on outside) and resulted in my eye socket being crushed. The door hit me right in the face. The security guard then laughed and walked back inside, with me on the floor severely injured in my right eyebrow. Jason Powell, the manager, showed me the footage and admitted the security guard used more than excessive force and would be put on suspension. Upon requesting for medical compensation, Jason refused and decided to want to take the legal route of a subpoena, lawsuit, etc -- regardless of the clear (and many angles) of the assault I endured. DO NOT GO! Also, "Fletch" is another loose cannon. This establishment will be hearing from my attorney & police. read more

Cowgirls was an awful experience. The bouncers were on a power trip talking down to people, acting superior, and treating guests like they didn't matter. We were singled out for no clear reason, and it genuinely came across as racial profiling. Instead of being professional, they were rude and dismissive when asked for an explanation. Please avoid this bar. If I had read the reviews ahead of time, my friend and I never would have come here. The incident started when we were waiting in line to ride the mechanical bull. After waiting for a while, a couple cut in front of us. When I finally spoke up and said it wasn't okay, I was immediately grabbed by the bouncers without any explanation and told to leave. My biggest concern is that they put their hands on me right away without saying anything. I'm a fairly small woman, and the situation felt very scary and unnecessary. After looking back at other reviews, I realized similar things have happened here before. Long story short, this place does not feel safe. I regret not pressing charges, because grabbing someone and causing physical harm without cause is unacceptable. read more

Such a great place! Just like coyote ugly with bartenders having a dance on the bar top in between working the bar and super girl friendly. I don't understand the bad ratings of this place as I had no problems there with my group of friends that include guys. It is a dive bar with a mechanical bull. They do have designated spots to dance so that there's flow of people moving around. I genuinely wish I could give this place zero stars. What happened here was unprofessional and dangerous. My fiancé's friend was being asked to leave (for reasons still unclear), and when my fiancé simply asked why, he was shoved down the stairs at the entrance by staff. In the heat of the moment, he threw a can ( he regretted this immediately) but instead of handling the situation responsibly, staff escalated it even further by throwing him outside and punching him in the head twice. I was in the bathroom during the incident, and when I came out and asked what happened, the staff conveniently left out the fact that they had put hands on him first and punched him after the fact. They clearly knew they were in the wrong and were trying to cover for each other. We called the police, but unfortunately, there was nothing they could do, and it felt like justice just slipped through the cracks. This place is unsafe, the staff is aggressive, and if this is how they handle conflict, I seriously fear for anyone else who walks through their doors. I will never return, and I strongly urge others to think twice before going here. read more

My review is for the security guard working Saturday night 10/18! I had slipped in the rain and my knees were bleeding so we had pulled over to stop at the Cowgirls front door to ask for a bandaid. There was no line, but the main security guard/bouncer let us in and made sure i got antiseptic wipes & clean bandaids before we headed back out. So kind and went out of his way to help. read more

Please do not support this business, my friends and I went here and one of my friends (a cis female) had an issue when trying to go to the bathroom: The girls bathroom was being blocked and she asked some dudes in line if she could use the boys bathroom really quick and they said yes. (This is something I have done plenty of times at other Seattle bars without issue). Then a worker came up to her and threatened to kick her out if she went into the mens room. Her and the other dudes argued with him about gender and he was like if your ID doesn't match your gender you cant use the bathroom. CLEAR TRANSPHOBIA. Do not recommend this place solely due to the risk of getting attacked by security. I spent a good amount of money buying drinks and had a great time dancing and watching the football game. The bar staff were really friendly and made good drinks. After about an hour at Cowgirls, my friends were inexplicably told to leave and when I asked why they were being removed the security guy told me I also had to leave. When I got to the stairs by the entrance I was thrown down them and knocked into the door really hard. After this happened I regretfully responded by throwing a can at the security guy in self defense. After that I was pushed out into the sidewalk and punched multiple times in the head. I have two huge swollen spots on my head. Cops came and told me there is only so much they can do in this situation and basically told me they are allowed to hurt people. After looking this place up on yelp there seems to be a patter of the security staff escalating situations and assaulting patrons. read more

We were visiting from out of town and had a group of 14 girls for my bachelorette! It was super crowded when walking in, but we were so well taken care of as a group! They let us dance on a table all night where we had a drink server and the bouncer PJ was SO nice to all my girls! Ugh. I am torn between giving Cowgirls two or three stars. I had fun with all with my friends here on a Saturday night, but there were some major issues with this place that just makes me upset when I think about it all over again. My friends and I came here on a Saturday night and it was 80's-themed music, so gotta love that! Staff was super friendly and we enjoyed the fun, lively atmosphere. Plus, there's a mechanical bull here, so that always makes for an interesting time. The issues we experienced here were the food and drinks. Since we were here for a themed pub crawl, they expected our crowd, so offered a drink special, which was a specific shot. When we asked about what went in the shot, the bartender literally said, "A little bit of this and a little bit of that." She wanted it to come across as intriguing which it did; so we all ordered a shot of it. Come to find out later, the shot was not even a freaking shot. It was less than half a shot and it tasted like fruit punch; where was the booze? What a waste of money. When we ordered well drinks, we saw that the cup size was smaller than the water cups. Lame. And even though you don't necessarily come here for the food, it should still be edible. We had the buffalo chicken wings, which were drenched in so much sauce that I couldn't stand eating another. Yuck! Come here for the fun times that you'll make yourself since they'll stiff you on drinks (and food). Drink beforehand, dance to the music (especially if you like country music, which they're known for) and ride the mechanical bull! read more

HORRIBLE experience here. Cowgirls was a place on the Halloween bar crawl so some friends and I went for the drinks. First, I was assaulted by a bouncer and yanked by the belt off of a table, and when a friend intervened and tried to deescalate, he was kicked in the head repeatedly by a bouncer. He's now in the hospital for a bad concussion from the incident - hope he makes it out okay. Bouncer had serious anger issues and was clearly not vetted or trained on how to deal with customers. I would NOT recommend to anyone. A police report has been filed. read more

I overheard and watched the whole thing play out as their entire party of four was literally on their way out the door. That's when the guy started to go back to the table to make sure they had all of their belongings, I actually heard him say "Let me make sure we didn't leave anything behind" before he was grabbed by security. What I assume was the girlfriend walked up to security while they were holding him and told them to "let go of him, we're leaving" and that's when security decided to escalate the situation and pepper spray both of them. I have $500 in unused Cowgirls gift cards that I went to use yesterday Sept 16, 2023, and the business refused to honor them, with claims that they 'changed' their system. The manager claimed they didn't have a way to check or honor the gift cards and that we're basically out of luck and out of $500 in gift cards that they now wont fulfill, even though there were no disclosed expiration dates and WA law prohibits businesses from scamming people out of money that have been purchased in gift cards. read more

OK, I personally had a great time here. Was the floor sticky? Yes. Was it crowded and sweaty? Also yes. Were the drinks pretty basic? Ya. Is the mechanical bull cheesy? Yee-haw. Were the beats bumping and was I completely into it? YOU BETCHA. I loved the servers. I loved the grungy atmosphere. I loved that the mechanical bull didn't have too much of a line so my very-much-introvert friend wasn't dissuaded and went for it! There were at least two pros that rode that night and made it look so insanely easy. And plenty of newbies who were cheating and held on with two hands but no one was rude about it and they had a great time! The music really was prime all night. A good mix of country, new hits, and classics (90s-00s). I really want to come back, wearing the right outfit to also have my chance at the bull. This is definitely a spot to go with a large(r) group of friends. If you want something, you need to go get it. If you want a shot, they pour it in your mouth. If you're looking for somewhat of a wild night (not too wild, but like, get it), then this was a great spot. I will be looking for a chance or event to go back! read more
