I've owed this review for a while. We built a new pool that was completed in Spring 2024. Our GC recommended CoverPro for safety as we have 4 Grandkids under 10 and there is no price you can put on safety. CoverPro was extraordinary with the install, their staff is top notch, fun to work with and masters at their craft. We just had a small issue yesterday and I knew it was the magnet sensor for our deck jets to go off when the cover closes. I spoke with Luke via text after hours and he cancelled my appointment and said he would mail me a magnet. Well actually he one upped himself and had a tech drop one off to our home this morning on his way to another job, no charge. We have referred this company numerous times in the past two years, and will get our fall service with CoverPro as we won't let anyone else touch this exquisite safety device. If you want peace of mind hire the company to make your property safe, sell a kidney if you have to but protect the children. Have a great summer. The cover requires regular maintenance and replacement of part of the system from the motor to the ropes to even the vinyl cover itself. Amazing service. I got a crazy estimate from my usual cover company to replace the motor (which they said was inoperable) and needed to be replaced. CoverPro (George was the tech) and in fact, the motor was fine. Computer needed replacement and their quote for that was 20% less than my old company. We hired them in September to clean my cover. When they arrived they said it could not be cleaned, and since we would be charged for the call we had them adjust the pulleys to at least get some value from the call. The next day I had another company clean the cover and they did a terrific job. CoverPro sent their invoice to an address I have not occupied in many years, and it was not forwarded to me for two months. When I received it I called them right away to tell them the situation and inform them I was paying it that day, but they said they had already turned it over for collection, and tried to get me to pay even more money. (I've never encountered a company that turns an invoice over for collection at 60 days without trying to reach the customer.) I paid the invoice, and now have requested on 3 occasions that the owner contact me to discuss my dissatisfaction - but to no avail. I have owned a cover pro covered pool for 20 years and have experienced only constant improvement in their service. In my opinion cover pro is a company seeking excellence in their field. They have achieved their goal. I Do some maintenance myself, cleaning and treating the surface of the cover. They just completed my spring tuneup and admittedly I'm late. There was much for them to do since my system is older. They performed everything necessary and my cover operates just like when original. Their pricing is very reasonable and the technician was more than up to the job. He was professional and courteous, explaining what had occurred and why he was doing each step. I love my cover! After never calling me back (as promised) to get someone sooner ( than what she lied about after I talked to her... still no call. But, somehow an email was sent that our cover is being fixed on the 15th. I can't get a call back to even get it temporarily opened. In summary: 1) Happy to provide great service when getting the business. It is a good cover 2) Once they've gotten the business, it's done. I placed an order for a replacement pool cover over 5 months ago. I have not received it yet and am growing frustrated with the run around. The sales rep I am dealing with is attentive enough, but the entire process has not been positive. No one follows up- it took a couple of outreach calls for my rep to be aware of the situation only to find out that the manufacturer put a hold on the material for the cover. It would have been nice to know that. In the greater scheme of things, this is a 1st world problem, but it is an issue nonetheless. We installed a pool cover in 2019 with cover pro. 18K on the cover. We built this pool and they were hired by my pool builders to install this cover. The tracks kept falling out from under the coping. Mostly at the corners. Near the vault and near the steps and baja shelf. We called them out and thank goodness we were under warranty at the time. I think they came out 3 times during the first year. Covid, fires, we didn't really use the pool that much for a couple years. One day there was water seeping over the cover and I called to ask them to come out and RE FIX small plastic anchors that hold the rails up (I found them on my baja shelf) The not so friendly woman I spoke to said I was out of warranty. I said that Coverpro has been out here 3 times already fixing this and it hasn't been ultimately fixed if it keeps falling out. She said 200 for the first hour and 100 for the next and subsequent hours to come have a look and fix it with a 30 DAY GUARANTEE. She also said we are 5 weeks out in appointments. I said, perhaps had they discovered a better way of fixing railings since they installed my railings? She said I needed to make an appointment to get my answers. lol. Really? I asked to speak to a technician and she said I could talk to one at my appointment. I mentioned that I wasn't really getting the answers I was hoping for and what does she think I should do about my problem other than pay 200 to talk to someone.. she just kept asking if I wanted to make an appointment. Honestly, this is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. No compassion. It sure is a bummer when you're asking for help and a business that took 18K for a cover hires someone for CUSTOMER SERVICE/ANSWERING PHONES can seem easily frustrated and the opposite of helpful. Well folks, it's not rocket science. It's a tiny anchor and cement. I watched them install AND FIX this problem again and again. Upon further inspection I found out why they are falling out. The holes on the end near the baja shelf and the steps are shorter than the other holes. The reason why is probably because there is less clearance to get a drill in there. I got a plastic bin to clear the water under the drill site, sat in my pool and drilled a bigger hole, added some waterproof construction adhesive in the hole, new anchors and put it back together. Waited 24 hours for cure time and I fixed it. I'm a 55 year old woman. Don't wait for inferior service. I should have made a you tube video so you don't have to pay a company like Coverpro to come and perform inferior workmanship on any aspect of your home. JUNK WORKMANSHIP. The holes were half the size of the anchors. It was never going to hold and they make money every time they come out to just talk to you about it. They came out 3 times to fix this. Seriously?? Subpar customer service and inferior repair service. I think the best time you'll enjoy your cover will be right after they install it and take your money. I used coverpro for the first time last year to replace my pool cover and I purchased the optional additional parts package. I just moved into this house a few years ago so pool care and pool covers are new to me. They were polite on the phone and installed a new pretty cover, roll bar, ropes etc. It took 4 weeks to get to me, but I figured it took a while to make the cover so I was ok with the wait. After install, the cover operated slower and would stall frequently making a squeaky noise. I rarely use it so, whatever... 1 year later the cover comes off the tracks. I call and they say it will be 5 weeks before they can come fix it. I know it's a pandemic, but I called someone else and 1 guy came out a few days later and spent an hour putting it back together. Why it came off the track was because 1 side got in front of the other and derailed it. After reading online, apparently this is something that happens with a new rope install. The rope stretches, and it becomes uneven. I noticed this happening but didn't think anything of it since I've never had a cover before. Also, the box that the new cover collection bar that they installed was not spinning freely and was bunching up fabric due to a build up of corrosion in the box that apparently takes years to accumulate. It looked like chunks of cement in the box that held the new bar. So the point of the story: If you get new ropes, use the cover daily so the ropes stretch, and make them come back and realign it before the guarantee is up (which is a brief 3 months I believe). They should really have this follow up appointment included with new rope install since it is a known problem with new ropes. When installing a new roll bar, make sure you have them clean out any corrosion in the box that supports it. They should really include this with the service of extra parts and maintenance package purchased, but it didn't happen. If you have a stalling squeaky problem, they didn't set the clutch right. And remember, you have only a few months of warranty, so make sure everything is correct. So now after spending $3500 last year, I am spending hundreds more on repairs that could have easily been addressed if they went the extra mile. Positive stars for professional communications and a pretty new cover. Negative for lack of follow-up, short warranty, huge wait time for service and installation problems. read more

Horrible pool cover. I spent lots of money $$$$ on this automatic pool cover with stainless steel cable system. However, the installed the sharp bolts on the underside of cover vault pool coping and quickly tore the brand new cover. CoverPro company said it was not covered under warranty and best they could do is file down the sharp edges on the bolts and patch up about 10 holes! Fast forward a few months and cover was becoming stuck/pinched in tracks. Their solution was to file down the aluminum track where pool cover was getting stuck. Finally after many months later, coverpros came out to replace the tracks on both sides. They were there for the whole day and had to abandon the warranty work due to one of the tracks not coming out. Now the pool has no power and pool cover is broken and non operational. CoverPro said they are all booked up and cannot come back out until 5 days later. Really!? What company conducts business like this? I would definitely go with another company next time. read more

UPDATE: Mark and his team are working hard to fix it. They came today and will be back Friday to fix it. They also manually closed the cover so safety is not a concern while I wait a few days which I appreciated. At this point I have no choice but to give one or less stars. We have a BRAND NEW cover on a brand new pool (less than 3 months old) and it is broken and won't close. We have THREE TODDLERS under four years old and are in full panic mode as CoverPro is telling us it could more than a month to fix. This is a huge drowning risk, we don't know what to do, and are calling everyday. If this gets addressed I hope to be able to update this review but if you are installing this for pool safety beware that the lead times are horrific. I was given many promises that they come fix right away since they understand the safety risk so truly can't believe I am even writing this. We had to replace our pool cover this year because the fabric ripped on a corner of our built-in spa. It took months for this to finally happen. But I was relieved when it finally did. 4 months later the cover comes off the tracks and bends, like other reviewers have stated. Since I am now just outside the 90 warrantee I am responsible for all repairs. Can you imagine how little faith they have in their work and their product that they only give a 90 warrantee? I should have read the fine print. When I asked for a manager, they said "sure" and sent me to voice mail. So not great customer service either. read more

Poor customer service and poor quality. I decided to have the pool cover from CoverPro for safety on a small brand new pool. Within a year and a half I had several issues and they didn't come to fix in 8 weeks. One time it didn't roll back completely, one time it tripped the breaker because water had gone inside the motor since it wasn't seal properly, one time the whole cover came loose of the rollers and fell off inside the pool (glad kids were never go on the cover). They are very expensive and it's not worth spending so much money for something that requires maintenance several times a year and they make you pay for it (could be several hundred $ each time they show up). Customer service is poor, it takes them 8 weeks or more to come and fix the issue and the lady answering the phone is always mad at you. I wish I just had spent less than $1000 for a nice efficient cover whenever I needed to cover the pool. Don't waste your money for this useless thing. Out of a year I had this cover I didn't even close it for 6 months since I always had issues. read more

Poor product and terrible after service We bought a pool cover from these guys - top of the line. The material they used is obviously very poor quality as it stains really badly and looks unsightly when dried out. The worst bit of dealing with these guys is that while our pool contractor was sorting out a query on the bill they tried to put a lien on our house after exactly 14 days - and all the time while they were discussing the issue with our pool contractor. The above 1-2 star reviews sum up my own experience. Six weeks ago they said the cover didn't work because the ropes of our year-old replacement cover were stretched out and uneven on one side. We didn't use the cover for six weeks and when we went to use it and it didn't work, I called them again and they said they would send someone out. The first appointment was rescheduled due to sickness but on the reschedule date we never saw anyone come out and as usual with their service techs, no one ever knocked to let us know they were here or when they were leaving so I tested the cover and it still didn't work! So I had to call to find out whether anyone was even here or not and if so, what they concluded. Colleen said our motor was rusted out and we need a new motor for $2000. I told her we checked our CCTV cameras and they do not show that the service techs ever came out so I asked if the service techs took photos. She said they are supposed to but it didn't appear that they had. She then said she had asked them to call me butnever heard from anyone so I THEN left her a message (she seemed to stopped taking and returning my calls) and asked her to have them come out and show me the problem but never heard from them again. There is something very fishy about all this....Something doesn't add up. For years our pool cover didn't work consistently even after they replaced everything one component after another. When they installed our pool cover they failed to properly seal a junction box which they improperly installed below the water level. 6 months later it rained, the junction box filled with water and shorted out and as result we could not get the cover open and it tore. They refused to even discuss this and took no responsibility for their own incompetence. They charged us $1900 for a new cover. Hire them at your peril. read more

Too many problems to mention, had to install a safety fence because pool cover was often broken and service was slow to repair. Installation was poor to begin with, track was put in upside down. Currently our second cover is on the bottom of the pool after a month of issues. They "repaired it" yesterday, but it only worked once. It has also been stuck shut, don't know what's worse....can't use your pool in August or the risk of it being uncovered. I am so favorably impressed with CoverPro, to the extent that I can't imagine how this company and their product could do anything to warrant a negative or even mediocre review. Their DNA is that of a professionally run organization selling the best product on the market, and taking every precaution to make the installation as worry-free as possible. However, I can imagine some people like to complain at the slightest chance. From the first visit for an estimate, to my innumerable emails requesting information, and the final install, CoverPro's people have been very responsive, knowledgeable, and quality driven. I am normally a little distrusting of any sales pitch but in time I found them to be completely above board. No embellishments. Their product is superior. They have installed more pool covers in this area than any other. This is all they do. They are much more than a mom & pop business. Also, they were never negative about the competition. Reputable is the best term I have to describe them. Bruce, who I met first for an estimate, is an owner in the business. He took my call at the very end of the day and scheduled a visit within two days (at my convenience). He knew every aspect of the product (motor, mechanism, track, cover material, maintenance, wear, and warranty) and installation. I was starting from scratch. One end of my pool was designed for a motorized cover. It had a lowered wall and coping for a track along the sides. Other than that, I had to build the cover vault with drain and electrical. Bruce explained exactly how it needed to be constructed and then gave me a written spec sheet for the vault design and electrical wiring. I could take these to any contractor although I hired labor to do this myself. Along the way, I had many questions for him as I tend to over think every detail. Turned out they were all good questions and I got good answers by email within a day or a few hours by phone. Not everyone will appreciate this as they may sub-out the vault construction. However, once concrete is poured, it had better be right. It's good to know your contractor will get it right by working with the right people. Once the vault was done, Bruce was back for a second set of measurements and a deposit. With two install visits over 7 days, the cover was in place and operational! When I was first shopping cover companies I also had J and B Pool Care come out for a competitive quote. I had to call them a twice to get a call back. The owner who came tried to rush through the sales process. I had to slow her down. I was supposed to get the specs for the vault and a quote emailed to me. They never came. After two weeks, I called again and never got a call back. I am glad I had this experience. It made it very clear what their service would be like. I also looked at CoverPro's installation at a neighbor's home. I liked the clutch stop mechanism a lot. It is a simple mechanical device that should never fail. On the other hand, in my opinion, systems that used over-amperage sensors and micro-electronic stop switches would have to fail someday (circuit boards in wet environments are risky and electrical switches wear out). I got the better mechanism with CoverPro's. I also spoke to a friend of mine who has a CoverPro system on his indoor pool for the last 10-12 years. He has nothing but great things to say about them such as "well run and professional", "fast service", and "fairly priced". In fact, he told his daughter, who built a new home with pool, that CoverPro was the best and she should use them. Instead, her contractor chose J and B. (Maybe J and B just wants to work with contractors more.) I saw the cover on his daughter's pool. I was impressed with how fast it opened and closed. I was really concerned at how easily a child could be trapped under it. The CoverPro cover that I tested at my neighbor's and the one I now have moves at pretty good speed, about walking speed. I think this is good. I am also impressed by the 7 year warranty on the cover material. I like that it is not prone to shrinkage and so it is not necessary to have an excess of material on my pool with unattractive folds. I wish there was a better selection of cover colors. I felt the same way about J and B's samples from Zodiac. We chose charcoal gray since we will paint our house in modern, grayish colors. Also, this darker color will heat the pool more. Someday when I have to replace the cover, I'd love to see covers with multiple colors and designs. This would be cool but then make it even harder to choose. Lastly, I did a fair amount of research online on pricing. It's hard to compare since most people don't have a pool size like mine, a 10' x 40' lap pool. I concluded CoverPro is in the same ball park as all the others. This is a long term investment and I tend to buy quality. read more

I called cover pro and they immediately (the following morning) sent a technician (nice gentleman) to fix it , He did a great job and show me how to maintain it. and all that at no cost. On December 7 we called because the cover won't open they told us five days and a technician would be out. These guys are great. If you are building or renovating your pool, get a Coverpro cover. It is BY FAR the best thing we got for our pool when we had it renovated. PROS: -You can walk across it. For safety, this is obviously incredible. There are no gaps in the cover, no weak spots. I am 190 pounds, and I have held my 25 pound dog as we walked across it. No issues whatsoever. Also, it looks really cool - you'll blow your friends' minds. -It keeps the pool super clean. No leaves or gunk fall in. -It keeps the pool warm! Our resting temperature during the summer is 86 degrees!! -It just looks good. It looks professional. CONS: -Nothing. It came as advertised. We have had it for a year and a half, and have had no issues whatsoever. I had my pool put in around 1 1/2 years ago and had the power cover installed by Coverpro. The cover has been great! So worth the money. My pool is kept clean, the water evaporation is kept to a minimum, and the water heats up on its own during the summer months due to the cover. I just recently had a service tech come out to readjust the cover since it got out of alignment. The service tech, Justin Barron, did a great job! He replaced the rope that was causing some of the problem and got the cover back in alignment and running smoothly again. He showed me the areas of the cover that was causing the issue and explained exactly what he needed to do to fix things. I truly appreciate the open communication and diligence to get the cover back on par. The customer service overall has been great. I would highly recommend this company and a power cover for anyone with a pool. read more
