One of the smoothest construction projects we have done, with a beautiful finished product. Over the summer, we met and got bids from 5 pool builders, saying that while we were not doing the project right away, we would be once we were done using the pool for the summer. While Ireland Pools wasn't the lowest bid, it was fairly priced and we felt confident with Steve's ideas and suggestions. So we hired him to resurface, retile, split drains, and replace the lights. Selecting the color pebble and tile was tough with so many options, so Steve sent us down to the NPT showroom to look at things in person. Within a half hour, we had everything picked out, and ready to start our project. Unfortunately, right before we were about to start, the tile that we loved could not be found anywhere. Instead of pressuring us into other options, Steve made it his mission to track down the exact tile we wanted, and was able to find some in Colorado which he had shipped out the next day. All of the subcontractors were polite, and thorough. Steve was around every step of the way to check in, and keep us updated. He would let us know the night before who would be coming by and when. He wore a mask when talking to us and kept his distance, which surprisingly not many contractors do. I want to give huge shout-out to Ireland Pool Services of Newbury Park. During the remodel of our aged-1970's pool, Steve Ireland and his subcontractors were professional, considerate, and fast! We chose Steve after getting three quotes. We found all three pool contractors through Nextdoor and cross-referenced the reviews on Yelp. We ultimately went with Steve since his pricing was competitive, and he could start at the earliest date. He gave us a three week project completion date, however he was efficient! The pool was ready for use, after only 16 days of deconstruction/reconstruction. (We also contributed to the speed, by picking out the pebble tech, tile and purchasing the stone ASAP.) They replaced the coping, tile and plaster, repaired damage to our spa spillway, replaced old copper pipes, retrofitted our filter with new guts, and replaced the spa, jets, skimmer, heater and pump. I just finished reading all the reviews for Steve's company, all of which are enthusastic and positive -- and all of which are well-deserved. Steve just finished installing a new pump, filter and heater for us, replacing the pre-historic rig that was in place since we bought the house. Not only does the equipment look sleek, but it is infinitely more functional and efficient than what we had been enduring since we bought the house. I reached out to Steve a while back about a new pump, and over the months that we have been communicating, he has been unfailingly honest and accurate in his assessment of what we should actually be upgrading (all of it, not just some of it) and quite patient as we made up our minds to do the work. The equipment he selected is state-of-the-art; it will save us maintenance time and will reduce our energy costs. The installation went smoothly and took a day. Steve's workers were knowledgeable, professional and polite. This installation requires considerable expertise and involves the gas, electric and plumbing systems, so I appreciated how the installers went about their business. They also moved the old gear out to the curb and it was promptly picked up for recycling. Steve then showed up to give me a mini-course in the operation of the digital control unit on the pump. Although it was already late on Friday, he answered all my questions thoroughly and offered to follow up with me if I needed any clarification. I probably will. While the operation of the pump does not required a degree in computer science, it has a ton of useful features that will likely require a little more feedback from Steve, who I am sure will continue to be OK with bringing me up to speed.
