If you're having a hard time deciding on who to use to refresh or rebuild your pool, stop scrolling. Stanton Pools is who you should use in the SF Valley. I didn't just jump into this with them, I took probably 2 years deciding on who I should use and why. I met with general builders, discount pool builders, other pool companies and I am so happy that I did my homework. Eric and his team are AWESOME. Chad is his point guy and he's the nicest guy you'll ever meet. What they do better than the rest is LISTEN. They really take the time focusing on what you want to accomplish with your pool refresh. I had one of those 70's pools that's 8-9 feet deep. It NEVER warmed to above 80 even in the months where it's a 100 degrees out here for a month. We brought up my depth from 3 1/2 feet to 5 1/2 feet in different areas. We added an 8 foot tanning shelf with stairs. We literally went over every inch of that pool with me in it with a tape measurer just to measure where I wanted the water level in every spot. We made a million changes throughout, as he said in the beginning that we would once things started to take shape. We added the pebble finish. We added new porcelain tile. There are a million options there as well and he guides you through every choice and really has a great understanding of what your water color will end up looking like or how your coping with play with tile that you choose. He/they are way beyond just being knowledgeable. Every inch of your pool will be discussed, if you're that into it. My project took 4 weeks total to finish and came in ahead of schedule. The price I paid was EXACTLY to the penny of what my estimate was, even with the changes that we agreed upon. We took away a few things and added a few things. If I could give 10 stars I would. There isn't ONE inch of my pool that I am unsatisfied with.. Oh, and my water is already at 80 and we haven't even hit the heat of the summer here in the valley. Eric has specialist for every phase of your project and they all were amazing. Clean work, and no debris left after their processes. They were not the cheapest nor were they the most expensive. They landed right on fair. But, worth every penny. My wife and I couldn't be happier. Oh, and if they sucked, I would be the first on here screaming it. Our old pool plaster looked like it had leprosy. I bit the bullet and hired my pool service company to do the remodel. I can't even fully explain how happy I am that I hired them. We have friends who hired pool companies that made errors and were not always reliable--and their work took forever. So, we were nervous about a remodel. Eric and Chad went over all possibilities and explained the differences of the different types of pool resurfacing options, tiles, and even grout choices. They gave us the information of places to go to for picking out our tile, etc. The process was seamless. They had a great crew come for demo (left no mess), then the tile guy was immaculate and my tile is crazy good and very meticulous in application. Chad helped give pointers on grout and we chose the exact right kind. We went with (Mico Fusion) pebble tech because it lasts a long time, can come in a beautiful color (we chose Laguna) and we didn't want plaster, as the new plaster out there doesn't last long at all. The guys who came to apply the new surface were amazing and left me no mess. The prep of the new surface afterward was done and we filled it with water. They even did more than I expected. There is no mess, everything was done right, they came on time and when they said they would. Chad and Eric were always available for questions. I am not used to doing something where something doesn't go wrong, and it was amazing to have it go completely right. Even the pool start up was great. My pool used to look like a swamp, and my new pool surface is glowing blue, with abalone shell shine added. My tile is the best thing I have ever seen and applied so well. I really appreciate the work and the care that Stanton Pools puts into their jobs. They are very professional and communicate often with updates on cleaning, filter changes, chemical tablets to be added, etc. There are seasonal services that coincide with the weekly pool and spa cleanings and they always keep me updated so I'm not surprised by non-monthly fees. The best thing is the service guy who comes, Devin. He's prompt and friendly and very thorough. He's even come a few hours earlier or even a day earlier than scheduled when I've had a couple of occasions planned at the house when I knew I'd be having people out near the pool. They even fixed a few parts of my older equipment, like Devin replaced one tube in particular, to keep the system running properly. We can't say enough good things about Eric and his company, Stanton Pools. They were amazing, and believe it when we tell you, this was not an easy job. Our over-sized pool was built in 1960, and it had issues! There had been a few upgrades through the years, but nothing like what was needed NOW... 65 years later. This is a combo review for both Stanton Pools and Titan Pavers. Around Labor Day 2023 my pool started losing 2" of water per day. It hadn't been redone since 1995 (a little while after Northridge) and was definitely overdue for a remodel. Eric came by, reviewed the state of the pool, discussed remodeling options and came back a few days later with a DETAILED quote/schedule for every thing that was going to be remodeled. I also wanted to get the deck and my dead lawn replaced. Eric recommended Titan Pavers and said that Stanton did a lot of joint projects with Titan. Max from Titan came by, reviewed the deck and lawn remodeling options and also came back with a DETAILED quote/schedule a few days later. I have DETAILED in caps because the other 3 places I got quotes from wrote a VERY large number on a piece of paper with NO line items/schedule and said "Let's Go". Both Eric from Stanton and Max the owner of Titan have excellent communication skills between each other and the customer. They are very good at coordinating the various steps of remodeling so that things proceed in a timely manner. Both Eric and Max communicated when they found issues during the remodeling (I was expecting the unexpected to pop up due to the age of the pool) and gave me various options/prices for resolving them. My remodeling job took about 2 months from the demo of the entire yard to the filling of the pool. If Yelp had the ability to give 10 stars, that's what I would give Stanton Pools. Best contractor experience in my lifetime. Allow me to explain. I don't trust most contractors. I don't like most contractors. I put them on the same level as personal injury attorneys and people that kick cats & dogs. If you're considering using Stanton Pools and reading this review, you probably feel the same way and are in angst (like I was) of which contractor to choose. The author Hunter S. Thompson wrote this about the music business and I think it applies to the contracting business as well, so I've changed a few words. "The Southern California residential contracting industry is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long cement hallway where pimps and thieves run free, and good men's wallets die like dogs. There's also a negative side" Stanton Pools is the complete opposite of the above. Eric Stanton, his right-hand man Chad and office staff (Hello, Edith!) are amazing. From my first meeting with Eric he gave me options, ideas, gentle guidance and most importantly, knowledge. Never once did I feel like was trying to bump me up for extras. (May I recommend a Pirate's Lair water slide, sir? Or perhaps some buxom topless mermaid mosaics for the shallow end?) He explained the pros and cons of everything without a know-it-all, "you're dumb if you don't do it this way" attitude like the vast majority of contractors. Chad is also a true professional and handled all questions and the labor like a master juggler. Never once dropping the ball. If I left a voice mail or texted, it was almost always answered within an hour. Never once during the entire process did I get a "opps..we forgot to tell you" type of surprise. Our plaster and tile was over 20 years old and it was falling apart. We had several quotes by local pool contractors to get it remodeled. Stanton Pools not only gave a very competitive price, but seemed more professional. Eric was very informative and suggested some great ideas. We also decided to put a Baja shelf in our pool and it came out amazing. Any questions or concerns we had during the construction process were immediately answered and or fixed through Chad, our project manager. After a load of research I decided to choose Stanton Pools for my pool re-do. Eric answered my calls, texts and emails very promptly, and even answered my 'stupid' questions! He made me aware that everything would be up-to-code, and sent me copious links to where to go to choose tile, pebble, the differences between paint and pebble, all the stuff I had no idea went into a pool redesign and repair. The people he sent to my house were polite, courteous, didn't leave a big mess behind, worked hard and fast, and I have ended up with a pool that I'll be happy to use this summer.
