I called this company to see how much is it to clean a pool filter. They quoted me ~130 which I was thinking about ordering. When I called back, the woman told me it was 165 and the other price was for customers only. It was an honest communication error and I thanked her for the new quote and responded with "ok, thank you" thinking this was too high, since my bf usually cleans the filter, but was out of town. This was the last of this conversation until I received a bill. I was confused about this bill and thought it was for a prior service they had completed. When I called, the woman was hostile and said that I scheduled the service and that it was complete. No one had been to my house and my filter wasn't cleaned, but the women wouldn't listen to this and she was talking over me telling me she could send me GPs "proof" later when she connected with the technician. There are so many things that confused me about this experience and I would've liked to have discussed it with someone who could have been calm and professional. There were so many steps that could have prevented this bad experience, just by better communication. I don't think I have had a situation where someone was so hostile and rude and unwilling to listen and help which is what prompted me to write this review. Update: I was contacted by this company. I received a few pleasant apologies and the situation was explained to me. Great service and responsiveness. I used ClearFlo Pools a few years ago to install an iAqualink. This time my filter pump seized up. I called Brandon and he had a tech to my home the next morning. The jandy remote aqualink we use to turn the jacuzzi and pool heat off and on, as well as the outdoor lights, stopped working. One of my nextdoor.com neighbors recommended Brandon. He was unable to come quickly, so he sent simple instructions by email for what he thought needed to be done to restore communication between the remote and antenna and bingo - everything was restored. Brandon and his team were absolutely amazing during our pool renovation. To start with, my wife and I were relocated to the Boston area, and the property with the pool in Thousand Oaks is a rental. We had never done a pool renovation, but the existing pool was 35 years old, and it was desperately needed. I found Clearflo pools through a referral, and they initially did monthly pool maintenance for us, which we have been very pleased with. When we finally decided to do a major renovation, we went with Brandon, and couldn't be more happy with the outcome. Brandon was very patient with us, as we selected tile colors & styles, new finishes, coping, and pavers. He assisted us with making the right selections, and was very responsive as we coordinated the whole renovation 3,000 miles away. Every step of the way, he sent us several pictures, and reached out to us if there were any questions that needed to be answered. We even ran into a couple unexpected drainage pipe issues, but he really is a 'one stop shop' and worked very hard to ensure we were very satisfied. This company and Brandon is a non-starter for me. If you call Brandon, be prepared for excuses why he didn't call you back. I will say that at least he called back after about 3 weeks for an initial consultation. That is about as good as it gets with Brandon. His excuse was that his kids got him so sick that he lost his voice and that was the reason for his delay in returning my call. Fair enough. We spoke and was he very clear that he could build me my fire fountain. We also spoke in length about maintaining 3 fountains on an on-going basis since he was already in the area with other pools that his company maintains. We made plans for a Saturday appointment. He asked for my address and I followed up with a text and photos of the fountain he was going to bid for me. No follow-up from Brandon regarding my text. Then I texted him to confirm the time. Nothing. More text to confirm my prior text the previous week. Nothing. Saturday comes and goes. Then a text from him apologizing for not getting back with more excuses that he was on vacation. Wouldn't that fact that he was going on vacation be a good thing to know several weeks ago when I first texted him about our Saturday appointment? Another flakey contractor. They were clean, and respectful of our home and neighborhood environment, and took real responsibility and pride in the end result. And I can't finish this review without mentioning that early on I had mentioned to Brandon that I really wanted the yard finished in time for winter break and for our potential visitors and kids who were going to be home from school to enjoy. I have been with Clearflo as a weekly customer for 6 years (since we moved into the house). Any time we have had an issue, Brandon and his staff have been timely in their response and have been able to fix issues within 24 hours. Our filter was not working, and come to find out it had 2 leaks. Within 14 hours, he sent Mike out to re-plumb the leaky parts of the filtration system. I cannot say enough about Brandon and his team. I purchased my house from a seller who actually owned a pool company and installed the pool in the home. It is beautiful but after I purchased it he continued to service it but I didn't feel like it was looking as good as it should. I heard about Brandon and his service and had them come out. After the first visit the pool already looked better than it did when I bought the home! They are always professional and honest. I was having trouble with the vacuum hose not coming to the shallow end and they could have easily told me I needed a new one but instead told me it was really a good unit and upon checking there was a piece of wood stuck in it that prevented it from doing what it should. I am very sorry to write this review, but I feel I must at this point. I was really looking forward to having Brandon over to give me an estimate on a complete re-do of my pool. He was recommended to me by another of his customers who was more than pleased with his work so I was excited to have him come over. That is the whole problem, not with his work in anyway, but rather with the fact that he made 2 different appointments with me and did not show up for either of them. When he did not show for the first one I called him and left a voice mail asking when he would arrive. He called back shortly thereafter and explained that he was running behind and had 3 more stops to make so he could not make it that afternoon. We discussed the matter and he said he could come the next day at 5:30 p.m. which we agreed on. Well, 5:30 p.m. came and went and no show, no call. I called him at 6:45 p.m. to ask where he was and what happened. He responded that he had been a long distance away and then had to go home to take care of his kids, and that he had totally spaced on me. Ok, so I understand about being far away, and I understand that kid always come first, but the fact that he could not bother to pick up the phone and give me a courtesy call to say he could not make it (two days in a row now) is enough for me. I need someone I can count on to keep their word. I told him at this point I would no longer need his services. I am sure they do great work, but Brandon needs to learn how to respect his potential customers, especially when they have been recommended by his prior customer.
