Couldn't be happier with Modesto and the Keep it Clean crew. Very professional, easy to communicate, and they go the extra mile. For example, we had a few cut wires to our landscape lighting which were severed from our previous lawn care specialist, but without saying anything to Modesto, he rewired the lights and now they're working beautifully again. Touches like that make me glad I found these guys. They come every other Friday and the place looks incredible. Well, these Yelp reviews don't lie! That's what prompted me to contact Keep it Clean Landscaping and its owner Valente Peña. I had somewhat of an idea of what I wanted and Valente, who has an artistic eye, was able to put it all together for me. He and his crew were professional, prompt, hard-working, and friendly. Valente and his crew cleared the big mess that was my front yard, installed stabilized decomposed granite pathways, installed a drip system, planted a gorgeous Arbutus tree in my backyard, and planted beautiful drought resistant plants while still incorporating some of the plants I already had. Spectacular new backyard patio with expanded walkways. Demo of old patio along with some previous owners DIY slate/cement attempted "fix" was fast and efficient considering the mess it was! Cost was very competitive with other quotes, and come to find out Valente's measurements were more accurate than the other quotes. Valente is very thorough, he went through the project at the end to make sure all the sprinklers were working, area was cleaned up and he even trimmed up some areas around the gardens. read more

I had a leak in my backyard drip system plus I wanted to add drip to new plants. The guy was on his phone the whole time and asked if I wanted the whole irrigation system changed out. Mine was only nine months old. He was not motivated at all to communicate or take such a small job. read more

Recently had our front yard completely redone by Keep It Clean. Valente was one of three quotes and I went with him because he was the only one to quote me what I was asking for but also offer some artistic input to expand upon my ideas. He removed all of the prior gravel and plants, a cinder planter box and we replaced with decomposed granite, stabilized with base rock in specific areas we will park our trailer. He offered an array of plants that worked really well with our desired aesthetic. Replaced the irrigation and added lighting and added a dry rock river and a new drainage where the trailer will reside. Valente answered every message I had and kept me posted the entire time. His team of Mo and Bernie were great. These two were on time each morning, cranked out the work, were professional and friendly. I felt his pricing was fair and honest and he runs his business professionally. Will definitely be using Keep It Clean for any additional landscaping needs. read more

I requested Valente to provide an estimate on damage to a tree from the Thomas fire. Valente went to the residence, observed the tree and then told me over the phone that the tree was still thriving. When I asked Valente to let me know how I could compensate him for his time, he replied that it was no big as he was already nearby when I had first called him. After we re-established contact and gave the project to Valente and crew, we were extremely pleased with the workmanship and Valente's communications including sending pictures and questions to give us options rather than charging ahead on his own with a design choice. It's a bit of a complicated property but the replacement of an old wobbly picket fence and its crooked gates with a stable (all new 4x4s in cement) horizontal redwood fence and solid aligned gates (both 4' and 6' tall versions) makes a world of difference. We determined together to do a 'step' fence near the neighbor's chain-link fence. Great result and nice detailed workmanship for fence cap and the 6' board-on-board gates. Valente will now start monthly weed abatement maintenance while we figure out a landscape design. Recommend without reservation. read more

As an update to my earlier concern about the lack of response, Valente and his team did reach out to share that they had a proposal ready but no email contact information or apparently no phone contact information. We had a drought resistant landscape which included a lot of gravel - Keep It Clean removed it all and made it look amazing, even when it was just dirt! Then Valente really worked with us to create the backyard that would fit our needs and lifestyle, which included sod, decomposed granite, new trees, mulch and 2 new beautiful raised beds, with irrigation for all. He offered a variety of options when we asked for his advice and opinion and he never forgot that our yard needed to be a place that we could use, enjoy and love. I've hired him twice, once to trim a long hedge that was overgrown, and again to remove an apple tree stump. The first time, he didn't trim the hedge to the height I had requested. When I pointed this out, rather than go back and fix it, he gave me a discount on the price he had quoted me. When I had him back to remove the tree stump, he did a great job and very quickly. He also brought up the subject of the hedge, and said he wanted to come back and fix it for me. I told him I'd be happy to pay him to do it next time it needed trimming. Since then I have tried to contact him twice for more work I need done, but he doesn't return my calls. Clearly he's still working, because I see recent Yelp reviews. Now that was the best $100 I've spent. Valente is your man! I texted him a few days ago to ask for a quote for a broken sprinkler station/solenoid valve that my wife tripped over (her shoelace caught on the rat nest of wires as she walked by to paint fence.) Well anyhow Valente showed me how to fix it and what part to use in a text. I figured if this guy is this honest I might as well let him fix it being a pro. Not only did he fix the broken solenoid he rewired the whole system! It looks clean and probably will prevent future trips/falls if not fires. All the work was done in 1/2 hour too! Wow! I would give 10 stars if I could! Valente fixed my sprinkler leak problem within 24hours. I was so concerned not knowing where in the ground the PVC pipe was leaking. Within 45 minutes of digging, he located the cracked pipe. The repair was done flawlessly and my lawn looks like nothing was done to it.
