It had an ugly view of a retaining wall, drainage gutter, and parking lot. It also had a beautiful tree that was leaning and had a fence awkwardly placed around its trunk. When heavy rains, felled this tree and ripped out the fence, it was time to finally address this disastrous area. I met with owner Jeremy and landscape designer Jason to help reimagine my patio. They addressed my concerns and wishlist and came up with a great design. The work crew, led by Ray, was outstanding. Every one of the guys on the crew, Javier,Chris, Dewey, Juan, Andy, Frank and Rolando were professional, courteous and respectful to us, my neighbors, and mindful of the HOA rules. Their work ethic and work product were outstanding. The old cracked concrete was replaced with beautiful pavers and upgraded drainage. A Hoff Solitions privacy screen with class a fire rated Timber-Tech planks was placed in front of the concrete block retaining wall and is fully removable if needed. I have more functional seating with a garden wall that allows for some plantings and doubles as extra seating. My Zen boulder fountain was set in ground with accent lighting. A covered pergola was added to define a nice outdoor seating area. A beautiful and functional barbecue surround was built to create a built-in look for my barbecue cart and the surround also provides privacy from the parking area.Landscaping and irrigation were also added along my fence. Because of the increased functionality of the space, it feels larger. My back patio is so much more enjoyable and charming now and I couldn't be any happier with the final outcome. These pictures really do not do justice to this beautiful space. Scarlett's Landscaping may not be the least expensive, but they provided great communication, work ethic, workmanship, management of details such as all permits and inspections, follow-up post completion, and most of all, peace of mind that my project was in the right hands. They added an alumawood un-insulated patio cover with lights and fans. We love it! The space feels huge! Ron and his team were very nice, on time, informative and worked efficiently. Ron was great at updating us through the permit process, and letting us know when they would be here. They completed our patio in one day. After they finished they cleaned everything up. That was fine because they had called ahead of time to let us know. Then on the rescheduled appointment, they were a no call no show. We had called to see what happened, and apparently the appointment was put in wrong and they weren't aware of it until we had pointed it out. So... we had rescheduled for a 2nd time (3rd appt). Again, no call no show. At least give us a heads up if you can't make your appointment, that would be courteous and professional. Not like we had put aside other things to be able to make the appointment happen. If you can't keep your word and come on a set day and time, what else would fall off if we decided to hire you?

Joe Vaca - Representative/owner of MV LANDSCAPING provided me with an estimate to install a sprinkler system and sod based on my requirements on March 13, 2013. After extensive explanation of my requirements - good soil water coverage and sod to accommodate the activities of an active dog (either a Border Collie or Australian Shepard), he provided me an estimate. I paid him $500 on 3/18/13 and $900 for a total of $1400 balance on 3/20/13 when he said the job was completed and everything was to spec. His installation and execution of the work was poor at best. 1. He installed the WRONG TYPE OF SOD - non-thatching sod (unsuitable for animal traffic) that left bare spots and dead areas because of bad sprinkler design. 2. He left out two sprinkler heads we discussed as part of the design. The result was inadequate, uneven and dry areas of moisture. 3. He installed the wrong sprinkler types - arching and not arching and horizontal spraying heads. This resulted in inadequate water pattern over-lapping. 4. He failed to level the underlying soil resulting in extremely uneven and dangerously bumpy lawn areas. Divots were up to 6" deep in areas. 5. He left me with inadequate watering instructions and what to expect as to what to set sprinkler setting on as the sod took hold. 6. When called and asked to examine the lawn he blamed everything from my lawn mower type to weather conditions to "settling" of soil. He stated that maintenance was not his responsibility and the sprinkler system was correct. He failed to provide any follow up or attempts to correct the system defects.I would never recommend him to anyone to do landscaping. I an upset at his poor "attitude" and lack of concern over customer relations. I feel like I was sold a bill of goods - his statements of his "superior" abilities to do quality work were nothing more than a "come-on". Never once did he say anything about being sorry for my disappointment or him trying to resolve the situation to my satisfaction. His work and attitude was unprofessional and inferior.

Frank was a complete class act as he coordinated the execution of the work and kept an open line of communication with us throughout. The materials are high-end and gorgeous. There was never any corner-cutting, and the work from every individual who labored was better than our expectations. We are no longer hiring amateurs who flash a low price but deliver shoddy work that requires redoing in the end. Green Scene EARNED our trust.
