Elidio is a friendly, soft spoken fellow who will say he can do anything but the quality of work leaves a lot to be desired. Besides the fact that a landscaping project he promised would take a week dragged on for over a month, the thing I am most disappointed about is my expensive putting green turf looks like a wrinkled dress shirt after only a few months. Not to mention the ground under the turf is lumpy and uneven. Of course he has ghosted us and will not return calls. I would hire him to trim trees and clear brush and that's it. read more

Everything was good until the third time service(the most recently service on 7 June 2023), which was yesterday. I trusted their service from the 2 previous monthly service. So I left the garden for them to work as we discussed. However this time, they mowed my lawn with extra bonus: 4 young trees's bottom bark gets badly injured by they edging machine. I communicated them within 24 hours with pictures of fresh injuries. They called, denial their fault and told me they checked the tree in my backyard(without permission and get into my house? !!??!) , they don't believe that's their fault even with pictures shows them the fresh moisture cutting marks on those trees. I was not even asking for compensation or anything they just straight goes to denial mode and not even offer a sorry. No more business from me. read more

I contacted Higos Lawncare when I had problems with the controller for my drip watering system. Saul Lopez responded quickly and was at my home the next day. He is thorough, knowledgeable and very professional...including being able to walk me through the process for setting days and times for watering when I want to make changes. Elidio came through when no one else would. I called 10 different businesses to get some irrigation work done. 2 were no shows, the other 8 never called back. Elidio answered promptly and got the work done the next day. He showed up on time and was fairly priced. Elidio is a nice guy and he means well, but we had a lot of problems with Higos Lawncare's work. Pros - Fast quote, work started quickly. Artificial turf looks good. Cons - The brief wasn't followed - it was a very different finished product than requested and quoted for - I got a bit of a surprise that much of the requested planting and irrigation wasn't done, but things I hadn't requested had been. Communication was nonexistent. The sprinkler system is missing sprinkler heads that were there previously, but inexplicably were removed - a previously fully irrigated lawn is now missing a quarter of its sprinklers? They used soil that they'd been given for free from goodness knows where that was full of rubbish, metal, plastic, tile and glass pieces - it all had to be removed. They charged $500 for 4 jasmine plants and a trellis, but the trellis is so flimsy that it started falling apart in the first week. I have requested fixes for the sprinkler system and trellis, but despite Elidio promising to fix them last week, no one turned up. I'm sure they're busy, but it'd be nice if they found time in their schedule to finish our job since we've paid in full, and it's been a pretty stressful and disappointing experience all round. Summary: Not an experience I'd be willing to repeat. You're probably going to be fine if you're just looking for maintenance work. read more

The team arrived on time and they were professional about the process including asking my neighbors to politely move their cars in order to avoid any damages. They were efficient and did a great job. It had been about two years since my palm trees were trimmed and they were able to climb up and reach a 40 foot palm tree and trim it to leave it neat. The clean up was a breeze and they left my lawn perfectly as if they were never there. We had some giant weeds growing in our backyard, and they spent about 3-4 hours perfecting everything in our backyard for an incredible price! Elidio, the owner of Higos lawn care responded in a very timely manner. Look at his average. Wow. We set up a time to meet and he was there, notifying me when he was close. He throughly walked the property confirming with me what needed to be done per my goals. (What didn't need to be done?) When we finished walking the property I felt confident we were on the same page. In all I got five quotes. $375 to $650. His was the last one I got. His quote was closer to the top than the bttom. But he made such a great impression on me. So I said let's do it hoping I'd get what I paid for. So, taking it from the top the grounds were a disaster. (when I lost my wife my world just stopped) Note: it was great at night on Halloween. Even the parents were scared. But with the carved pumpkins the kids were down. But there was no talking coming up the walk. So there were the front, back and side yards and a hedge to deal with. I mean I new my "yards" were somewhere in that jungle. It was worth as much as your life to move around in it though so I didn't. Not even to pick avocados! And then there was the "hedge", well there was no missing the hedge. It was more like a med height, very long and wide tree. I wanted the yards back down to level ground, the hedge considerably lower and way, way narrower. And of course the cut stuff hauled away. I first made contact on the 15th and they knocked it out in one day in time for a late lunch on the 21st. Now I'm hoping to get his input on what to do going forward and coming out once a month to keep it looking great. Keeping in mind that I have three older sisters that I love and that I'm all about gender neutrality and dismantling this misogynistic world we live in, I gotta say, Edilio is the man. I previously contacted a different company on yelp because I needed to get my sprinklers fixed. The other company called me back, told me I would need to replace my sprinklers. So the day he was supposed to come out, he no showed. Which was a blessing, because I found Elidio / Higos Lawncare. Elidio responded very quickly, told me he would be out the next day and was on time. He ended up figuring out that because I just repiped my water lines / plumbing it built up dirt in the water station lines. He cleaned them out and everything has worked perfect since. These guys did my whole lawn before selling my house. Grass cut, edges edged, trees pruned, and all the scrap/leaves hauled off. First I want to say that I'm so use to word of mouth from family and friends but last week I came onto Yelp looking for lawn care and this company were the first and quickest to reply back to me and come to my home to take a look for a quote. To my surprise I wasnt just given a great quote but the gentleman was very professional, respectful and was very accommodating. I requested a change in the shape of the lawn after he planted the sod and he was very nice and agreeable to the changes even though he was going to have to move some new sprinklers he just installed. I know I can be picky about how things are done and Elidio handled the entire job from start to finish with such a calm and respectful manner. He offered to do some other things in the front yard area that I needed help with and it was nice to have him offer. He finished the project as scheduled and offered to come back to weeks later to follow up on everything to make sure everything was still good.
