I had a Ficus bush that was almost 50 feet tall and ran the entire length of my yard. First Class Tree Service was in the area yesterday and asked if I would like a free estimate to trim 10+ feet off the top and to shape it for me. They gave me a very reasonable quote and agreed to return today (the next day) to complete the work. They showed up on time with an entire crew and did an excellent job. They also did an outstanding job cleaning up after themselves.

Fence posts are 3 to 4 inches taller then the rest.

So we took a chance on this company, they were down our street trimming someone else's tree, so I went to talk to someome about a quote to remove a tree in our backyard. Got the quote, decided to move forward with them, and they did say they would make any repairs, aka the fence. Well we had the tree removed on the 21st of Feb, we did have a few fence planks broken. Now I know sometimes it can take a minute to get someone to take care of the repairs, they said due to weather, and company being busy in general, is why it took so long. Finally after a few calls and texts, they showed up on April 1 to repair our fence. I have asked for a partial refund since we had to wait so long, and now I have to finish fixing our fence...you will see why when you look at the picture....oh and yes, they had to borrow my hammer...

2 side by side 40 year old pine trees

Luis from First Class Tree Service knocked on our door. They were cutting trees of neighbors behind us. He saw our 40 year old pine trees from the sidewalk, asked if we would like them to see the trees and give an estimate on getting branches trimmed. My first instinct was to say no, we have a tree trimmer we have used since moving to Simi. then i thought why not. Luis and Rey both came to look at the trees. I told them we were planning on having the tree slightly leaning towards the house removed and the other re-shaped. Rey gave me an estimate for cutting the tree, reshaping the other 40 year old pine tree, 3 tall liquid ambers, and a camphor tree. I told them i will talk to my husband. The quote was very competitive. When my husband called back, he told Rey he wants the stump of the pine tree grounded. They agreed on the price and worked on the trees March 17, 2023. Rey, Luis and 6 other members of the crew arrived on time and went right to work. The pine trees were on a slight slope, by a concrete wall and leaning towards the house. The tree to be removed cannot be cut at the base, trunks had to be cut 1-1/2 to 2 ft at a time depending on the width and be slowly brought down safely. Considering the size of the tree, cutting the branches, bringing huge trunks down, positioning the grinding machine on a slope, only one corner brick was dislodged. AMAZING . While working on the pine tree removal, rest of the crew were busy trimming, re-shaping the other pine tree plus 7 midsized trees: 4 liquid ambers, a 40 ft tall melaleuca tree, an apple tree, 1 camphor tree, 4 crepe myrtle trees, 1 carrot wood tree. What i like was i gave them an idea of what i want done on the trees. I asked that branches of the Camphor and carrot wood trees be cut so none were hanging over the wall towards our neighbors yard. They did all the things i requested!! i am very happy with their work. We are very very happy with their work, highly recommend First Class Tree Service, and will continue to use them in the years ahead. THANKS Rey, Luis, Jose and rest of the crew!!

I can't say enough great things about Salim's Tree Service, and HIGHLY recommend that if you have…read moreany tree need to contact them. My first contact with Salim was early summer when I needed a quote for a removing a 90' pine tree up on out hill. At that time I was impressed on how they described the removal in this hard to reach area, by using controlling speedline system. At the time we decided to leave the tree as is, but I had promised that for the next work I would contact him again. So here we are now i our back yard job. We have multiple Palm varieties; one giant Queen Sago, easily 35'+ tall, two California Fan Palms at least 80'+ tall, and one Royal Palm about 35'+tall. In between these trees are a row of four Podocarpus Macrophyllus trees that have grown well of the second story roof line above of the neighbors house. Not only is the area below covered by landscape plants, lighting, and irrigation, both sprinklers and drip, but our large pool. The maintenance of these trees requires care every 18 months. In the 27 years we have lived here I have had the tress cared for 18 times. As one can imagine with all these trees and shrubs below, there is a level of potential damage to the landscape below as workers go about their duties. Normally in the past to worst part of the efforts for me was after the trimming work fixing and cleaning up damage during the process, not this time. The work was finished after a long day of climbing and felling of branched and lots of very heavy pieces. In addition to expert workmanship the lead supervisor, Rosendo approached me during the process to say they had an accident and one my wife's favorite blooming Pulmeria plants, and that it might not survive and offered to replace it. In the end he reduced our quote by sufficient amount to replace the 4' plant. In all the years we have been here no other arborist worker that ruined plants, lighting or irrigation ever offered to fix, until I would approach them to negotiate a common solution. In closing I also want to say that they went well beyond my expectations during the cleanup efforts. In the past the debris that fell in the pool would take a week or more to get cleaned up and chemistry back to normal. When they left the pool was essentially as clean as before as you can see from these picture as attached. I would use Salim's Tree Service again the next time, I only hope since I hope that since it is 18 months away they are still available. In closing: My hat is off to Salim, Rosendo, Odilon, and last but not least Pedro, who effortlessly climbed to the top of the tallest swaying California Palm to trim away the multiple seed pods and spent fronds. Thank you for a great job done.

My brother and I planted these trees over 25 years ago. They trimmed them to 9 ft. Okay. But they broke a beloved, irreplaceable statue and didn't tell me. They broke a wooden rocking chair and didn't tell me. They broke the TV/internet cable and didn't tell me. They broke a Camilla plant as well. All of this I discovered on my own. Granted, they compensated me $150 for the statue and chair, repaired the wire, too, but I'd rather have my things back, which were broken needlessly, and the unique statue cannot be replaced. I also had vines growing into the wires in the alley. They did a good job, but they also cut some wires, which they left hanging in the alley in front of a neighbor's garage, and didn't tell me about it. They came back and fixed it. The worst thing is the large limb they severed that ran parallel to the wall, shielding and shading my view of the house next door. It provided shelter and shade for the birdbath and the hummingbirds that nest in it every year. They had no business cutting that and should have asked me. It's far below the 9 ft. limit, and now I feel sick when I look out the window and see the amputated limb, lack of shade and shelter, and the house next door with all its wires, dish, lights, and windows. I feel like I've lost a friend. I have photos of hummingbird eggs. They'll never come back. And I'll never hire this company again.
