I found Arturo here on Yelp, he returned my call promptly and was ready to come out to give an estimate at my convenience. He gave a fair estimate for complete removal of huge and invasive California Pepper Tree, grinding down of a large leftover stump from another tree, trimming of other trees, removal of smaller plants and bushes and hauling away all the debris. In addition he was able to repurpose & replant some of our smaller plants (to extend the life & value of those plants) and get the entire yard looking tidy again. Arturo and his crew are all very friendly and hard working, they accomplished more than I could have anticipated in one day. His estimate was reasonable and he said he would be able to assist with removal of three trees and the thinning & trimming of a tree in the front of our house that was getting too close to our roof. Arturo and his crew were amazing. He responded to the initial project quickly. Gave us an amazing estimate and was willing to work as soon as he had availability. He showed up on Friday evening for the estimate then Sunday for the job, he said he would be there 9am and they were punctual. Our backyard needed some refreshing and so we called a couple services to come out on a Sunday. Arturo is local to Oxnard so he came out very quickly. We set up the appointment and he came out on time. Chavez Tree service is AWESOME! Great value as well. They took down two ugly trees in my backyard, about 25 feet high safely, and efficiently while also removing the stump and roots using a stump remover. In the front yard, they took down the palm tree, that was probably 20-30 ft high hovering near our roof. Last, they trimmed a big tree we had hovering over our roof in our front yard as well. They worked very efficiently. Started at 9am and left at 12:30pm Arturo has kind enough to remove a bunch of tree branches, bark, and stumps from a grapefruit tree that we took out ourselves at no additional cost, which was a HUGE relief because it was just sitting in our backyard for weeks, waiting for our organic waste bin to empty week over week. We did not end up hiring Chavez Tree Service because they did not have insurance. They gave us a quote over the phone to trim our palm trees and it was very reasonable. They were by far the cheapest quote we received. Over the phone they told us that they were insured. I told them that we would need proof of insurance and the quote in writing before they could start work. It took them a few days to send us a written quote, but when I asked again about insurance we were told that their insurance had lapsed and they were trying to work with their insurer to get their insurance back. They told us that if we were in a hurry we should find someone else. Since we must have a company that is properly insured, we went with someone else. If you are looking for a very reasonably priced company and do not care if they are insured, then go with Chavez Tree Service. They were very nice and polite on the phone. Hopefully they get their insurance issues worked out. read more
