I think Joseph deserves 5 stars for his response time, his follow through and his patience and willingness to work with me. I have a stressed out 30 year Brazilian Coral tree which Joseph assessed and thought it was in need of a fungicide spray, based on the fallen leaves etc., and an aggressive cut back of what appeared to be a diseased canopy of cracked branches. "AI"didn't agree with him based on the symptoms, the time of the year, the age of the tree etc. It thought cutting it back midsummer during peak growth would send it over the brink...and "thought" fungicide spray was a waste of money...it directed me toward getting an assessment for possible boring larvae and its treatment I engaged in a discussion of these findings w Joseph and he was patient and accommodating. I thought the trunk fungicide spray quote of $400 was a bit high, but that's the nature of the business. read more

Joseph and his team did a great job getting a giant eucalyptus tree out of our backyard. They cut the tree down to its stump and cleaned up all the debris in only a couple hours. The price was very fair and reasonable! read more

I met Joesph long ago but today needed his service and let me tell you! Wddie his crew foreman and his crew Cirilo are fantastic. They worked very methodically and were very careful with my landscape. I was worried because of my prize Julia Child rose bush, Calla Lillie and new sod or my tiled porch and picket fence, newly landscaped Mexican pebble stones, but they were exceptional and so careful. I'm so thrilled. They liked my pumpkin chocolate brownies with vanilla ice cream and the iced coffee I served them, too! Thank you Joesph, Eddie and Cirilo. I am so thankful. read more

Joseph promptly was able to give me a quote at a fair price. Workers arrived on time and trimmed, pruned, and shaped our two trees very nicely. Afterwards, our yard and driveway was spotless with all debris thoroughly removed. Will 100% use again! read more

The entire experience doing business West Coast Tree Co. from the initial quote in price to the completion of work was professional. The very next day, I received complements from my neighbors on how the large tree in my back yard looked, after being trimmed ...I highly recommend reaching out or contacting West coast Tree Co. if you have trees that need to be trimmed or removed. You won't be disappointed. John T. read more

Promptly took care of trimming two trees behind my fence. I asked him to take them down further but he took the time to explain how it would harm the trees to go too far, and did a very even trim. read more

Great experience with West Coast Tree. I had two olive trees in my front yard that had never been trimmed so they were overgrown and heavy. West Coast tree did a wonderful job trimming them and thinning them out, leaving them looking amazing and not overly chopped. Really great job. read more

I called for a quote yesterday around 130pm- Joe showed up within 20 minutes and gave me an excellent price. His crew was over shortly after to prep the area and this morning by 730 my 40ft pine tree was on its way down. The crew did such an amazing job working in less than ideal landscaping, plus working around a narrow path around the pool to haul out large branches- they not only worked around my garden- they did not disrupt a single plant. The left the area cleaner than it was when they started. The crew was very skilled, professional, and fast. I'm still amazed that from my First call to complete removal- all happened in under 24 hours. Thank you read more

These guys were fair priced, fast, clean and did a great job on my trees. Called them (as well as a few others) they came out same day, gave me quote, which was fair and got my job done next day. Only need 3 palms trim and a small palm removed from my back yard but job well done. Thanks guys. read more

They did excellent work at a good price. I would definitely hire them again. Very fast too - they did the work the day after I hired them.

This is my second time working with west coast tree and always a good experience. The team goes above and beyond. Thank you!

Great experience dealing with Peter and his team. They removed 2 large Palm Trees in my backyard - - - great job, great service and great value! Peter and Team, Thank you. I appreciate your amazing customer service! read more

I asked for bids from several businesses and Joseph from West Coast Tree Company was the first to respond. He came by within a couple of hours and gave me an estimate so I decided to go with them. Other bids came in that were lower so I let him know (his paperwork said he would beat competitive bids) and he agreed to take a lower amount. His crew came by this morning and did a beautiful job trimming my fruit trees. It was obvious they have a fondness for trees. I was pleased with the quick response, the quality of the work and the adjustment in price. read more

Joe is the man. Works hard to give the best service and treats you like family. From my first call with him, I could tell that he had immense experience with trees and knew exactly what to do for my case. For someone who has no idea how to go about a tree removal, he made things easy for me to understand and easy to trust him and his team. Won't find a better guy for the job in all of California! read more

Peter came out and provided me a quote for all of the work that needed to be done. I had 4 total quotes from different companies and his came in the lowest and he did not try to up sell me any additional services. Decided to go with this company and he was able to fit me in the following week. I have to admit that communication could have been a lot better, but we finally were able to connect. The day of, he texted me to let me know what time he was going to arrive. When he arrived, he had an army with him. Turns out that one of his other jobs got cancelled so he had 2 teams working on the house. After a walk through, I left him be and his guys completed everything within 1.5 hours. The scope of the work consisted of cutting and shaping a big tree in the front yard, cutting down palm frans, cutting the hillside and cutting down a tree to the stump in the back yard. On top of all this, he was able to remove some old stumps I had in the front yard at no charge and trimming some branches that was coming over from my neighbors tree. They cleaned up everything and didn't leave any leaves/branches on my property when they left. My only knock on them is if you decide to use a credit card, they charge 5% for that. read more

Peter came out with a crew and removed our 8 cypress trees. The job was completed in a day. These trees were old and very messy, the crew did a fantastic clean up for both me and my neighbor. Highly recommend. read more

I've used West Coast Tree many times over the years. Joe and his team are top notch. True professionals. They are fair priced, extremely responsive, and very efficient. We've hired them for large tree removal, fire proofing, and overall yard trimming. Every single time they have done an excellent job. I highly recommend this company, you won't be disappointed! read more

Got an immediate response for an estimate. The estimate was fair and a work date was selected. Work was completed in a professional manor. The finished job was exactly what I wanted. The area was completely cleaned up by the work crew. Highly recommend , will definitely use them again. Rick Nevlin read more

Dale & crew were awesome! Dale made an initial site visit providing advice for *all* trees on the property even though we were only cutting 3 of the 10. Job 2days later went well, good attention to detail (care not to damage fencing/house), & thorough clean-up. We will be using West Coast in the future! read more

To say that they charge an arm and a leg is an understatement. I understand that rates vary but I expect 10-30% difference. Their quote was 500% more! I'm not kidding! 5 0 0 % ! I just smiled and waved to the guy when he was walking away saying that I should call him coz surely I won't be happy with the other contractors. I do not appreciate scare tactics and I don't appreciate them being 1.5hr late to our appointment either. read more

Very knowledgeable, professional, punctual, and fast. Joe Christman is a gem. His crew was very good although not as knowledgeable as their boss. But friendly, respectful, and responsive to suggestions. One area for improvement: clean up. They got all the big stuff but left a fair amount of small things. Overall, very satisfied, will definitely use them for our next project, and would recommend them to anyone. read more

Hired them to clear out a beast of a bush in our backyard plus several trees and many, many smaller bushes and weeds. It was like our whole backyard was a jungle and it felt gross. They did the whole backyard and a portion of our front all for a very good price. Joseph was so nice and he was very thorough during the quote. I had gotten many other quotes and he took the time to share his concerns and really talk it out which literally none of the others did. Plus he brought his little dog and that's always gonna make me happy. They did the whole thing in one day and they left the place cleaner than I expected. I could not have been more happy with the job. Highly, highly recommend this company. His crew was really nice too and I thought they'd be here until the evening but they finished in the late afternoon so they're definitely efficient. read more

I needed a tree trimmer before our house was rented and Jo responded to my request immediately. He drove by the house next day (on the weekend), gave me a quote and sent his crew the next Monday to trim our willow and some bushes. Can't be happier! Tree looks great! If you want great customer service and work call Joe!! Thanks sooooo much! Will be back. read more

Called Joe to give us an estimate to prune our flowering pear tree in the front yard and our orange tree, and lilac tree in the back yard. The estimate was reasonable and we gave Joe the go ahead to do the work. His crew arrived on the date that we agreed to and were ready to work. They,as usual, did a fantastic job. They also cleaned up the area around the trees. Joe has been trimming our trees for a number of years now and we hope to call him again to trim and care for our trees. read more

I found West Coast through Yelp and contacted them for an estimate. Joseph personally looked at our tree (did not want just a picture) and his estimate was very fair for what they needed to do. Our liquid amber needed to be balanced and trimmed on the inside. They also suggested reducing the crown. The crew came out the next morning around 7 am. I told them that they could not use their power equipment because I did not want to disturb our neighbors at such an early hour. They understood and completed their work by hand almost noiselessly in about one hour. The tree looks great and I am anxious to see how it looks once it leaves out. I could not recommend this company more. read more

Joe came out right away . Gave me a great price and work was done in no time . Other quotes were much higher and most were not licensed or insured. Will definitely use them in the future ! read more

I got a quick response from Joe through Yelp. He came by the next morning and gave me an estimate that I liked, and not long after lunch the work was done! His crew happened to be in my area. They removed a couple of cypress trees that I considered a fire hazard. The crew asked for my approval of an aspect of the job, which I thought was nice. My yard was left in great shape, no damage to anything except the ground cover below the cypress, which couldn't be avoided. They swept up the hardscape nicely too. I'd recommend West Coast Tree. read more

Two of our tall cypress trees keeled over after the recent heavy rains and very high winds. Peter and his crew did a quick and excellent job disposing of the two fallen trees and topping off the others to prevent any future accidents. I'm not usually one to complain, but I'm very disappointed by my service from West Coast Tree Company. I messaged with the owner, Joe, who never scheduled an appointment with me. I was rudely awakened with multiple doorbell rings from 2 of his crew the next morning at 7 am. Not only that, but they also ruined the plants below the tree. I would not recommend this company, nor use it again. read more

If you deal directly with Joe, and he supervises the job, I would give them a 5...I worked with Joe for years until I was handed off to an incompetent manager - the result being two beautiful Staghorn ferns being severely damaged since a crew member decided to cut them off of palm trees that were being trimmed. I stopped him midway through cutting one plant, and the other was damaged from falling branches - neither (after 2 years) looks anything like the plants we owned before. I was promised replacements and/or an expert to help them regrow - however they never came through. Moved on to another tree company - too bad, as Joe always did a great job. But the guy I was pawned off on lied to me - so I will not hire them ever again. They call to schedule trimming still, which I find annoying. Make sure they protect any plants underneath the trees being trimmed, and do not ruin valuable plants in the process of trimming. read more

Received this via email 1/21/2020: "I prefer to make site visits with both parties present. This often helps from things getting lost in translation and multiple site visits. I can make something work on Wednesday after school. 3ish." Arborist came on Tuesday, after confirmation for Wednesday. Received the following email on Tuesday: "I was close to your property this morning (Tuesday) so I stopped to preview your trees. I met your husband. After showing him some extremely obvious and hazardous issues with your Oak trees. I have decided that I am going to respectfully decline performing any services. I have to be honest with customers and your husband did not want to listen to my findings." I was NOT present, even though he wanted BOTH of us there (see above email request)...my husband said at some point of the property tour, the arborist simply walked off with no explanation.
