Wanted to update since it's been a year! Tiffany worked with me to color my hair for my wedding happening out of town. We did a color test run a month out, then settled on the final color. Since I was flying out a week before the wedding, Tiff gave me strict care instructions and a small tub of touch up color in case the worst should happen. THE WORST DIDN'T HAPPEN and my hair looked AMAZING on the day. So many friends and family came up to rave about the color! So I came here to try and redye my hair. I originally wanted gray, but was told it wasn't feasible due to time limits and the challenge of removing previous color. I completely understood and agreed that we would have to try something else. Tiffany gave me a few recommendations, but they weren't really what I was thinking of, and I ended up being really stumped trying to decide on an alternative color to do. While I was trying to pick, she made an offhanded comment of "this is why knowing what you want before you book is so important". Um, okay, very uncalled for and rude, but I still played along and called a friend for suggestions. Tiffany and I eventually agreed that we would try an "ashy brown" and then aim for gray next time. Again, completely understandable! I let her know that I wanted the top half of my hair to be done more similarly to my natural hair color, and then to blend the bottom half to be the different color... and then wound up with yellowish brown hair, as if I had just let my hair completely fade out. I guess I was too nice, but i was shocked and just paid and left without making a fuss. But now that I'm at home, the more I look at it the more upset I feel. She didn't really try to blend it in at all, and the whole job just felt really rushed to get me out the door so she would be ready for her next customer. I came to Tiffany because she was highly recommended to me by a former coworker of hers. I now just feel disappointed and upset that things did not work out at all. Won't be back. Edit: Tiffany has reached out to me to offer a fix within the next week to achieve the gray I want, when previously she had told me that I should wait two weeks in between processes. When I questioned the contradicting knowledge, she sent me a very condescending text message saying that I don't understand because I am not a small business owner. She kept telling me she wasn't rushing me out the door, but after looking at my hair again today, I realized that she didn't even dye my hair through and through. I have green undertones in the under portions of my hair. So not only did I not get a color we agreed on, I also walked out with completely inconsistently dyed hair. read more

My entire life I've never been happy with my hair. This all changed when I met Priscilla! She is magical and I always leave the salon feeling like a million bucks. Part of my problem is I never know exactly what I want so (at other salons) when I take a guess at what I think might look good, I'm disappointed to see that what I thought I wanted actually looks pretty awful. Priscilla will ask questions and challenge me if she thinks what I'm asking for is a mistake. Ex: "If you want bangs, don't do it in the summer." Or "that cut won't go well with the shape of your face." Advice from a professional is exactly what I need and she really knows her stuff. My trust in her has reached a level where I don't even need to tell her what I want. I just say, "do whatever you think looks best!" And she works her magic. My husband sees Tiffany and she is fantastic too. She has slowly convinced him to let her cut his hair in a way that is very different from how he's always done it and I LOVE the new cut! It fits his face so much better and when it grows out it still looks great, rather than growing in totally out of control like it did in the past. These ladies are amazing and I highly recommend them both. Talent aside, Priscilla & Tiffany are 2 of the nicest people you'll ever meet. I cannot tell you how many times I've sat through awkward, forced conversation in a salon chair... just praying for my cut to be over. I've been going to her for 8 years now, and she only keeps getting better. She used to work at 42Fair, but they have since closed their doors. Now her and her teammate Tiff have opened up their own little spot of pure magic, and I could not be more excited for them! They can do from a simple bangs trimming to unicorn magnificence! So for my first visit to Coven Studios, I got a root touchup with some amazing back to back micro highlighting. And when I say baby highlights, omg... I mean it. Such precision!!!! (no racing stripes here!) She used a new line they are trying out called Windle and Moodie, and if felt like I was getting an aromatherapy treatment. Loved this! I have been to a lot of hair salons and I am a creature of habit when it comes to my hair. I like my hair with partial to full highlights. Either way as long as it looks good. All the hair salons I've been too they unfortunately turn my hair brassy and even orange! A friend had recommended Tiffany. She is AMAZING. Not only was she friendly but also thorough, making sure she was doing exactly what I wanted. Color - So pretty. I was hesitant to lighten my hair again because sometimes lighter shades tend to look brassy on my naturally black hair but she did an awesome job. Well, I came across Coven Studios on Yelp while driving through Pasadena and saw the stellar reviews. I decided to come in and when I did I saw this other girl with some pretty dope colorful hair walking out with the biggest smile on her face. It's hard to describe because I think I ate crayons in kindergarten instead of learning the actual colors but it was like radiant a mix of purple, light blue, etc. very 2020 and we in 2019! Anyway, I was greeted by a very friendly girl named Tiffany Lin who had happened to color that girl's hair prior. She was super nice and asked me what kind of hair cut I wanted. I told her I usually have the Asian styled comb over (refer to my profile photo) and she knew right off the bat how to do it. My God is she good with the scissors and buzzer! She cut my hair perfectly just like my regular barber but dare I say even better? Her attention to detail is uncanny and I was very pleased. Bottom line: I may switching over to Coven. Tiffany and her colleague recently opened their own place. I've been a client of Tiffany for 7 years at another location and definitely happy to follower her to her new salon. Tiffany is not only a great male and female hairdresser, she is also an excellent colorist, like legitimately way above the rest of them. I have seen her work on various female clients as I have done some photography for her work, and the results are always stunning and creative. She also helps hiding some of my grey hair and none of my friends ever noticed that there is any kind of color work there. About last month I realized that I was due for a hair treatment and cut since this summer weather has been awfully crazy. I told Priscilla that I didn't know how to take care of my hair anymore since my hair keeps getting dried out no matter how much moisture I kept putting back in my hair. I haven't been to the salon since December 2017 so it was about time that I needed some TLC to my hair. The thing I love about Priscilla is that she is soooo knowledgeable and educated. Each time she does something to my hair such as putting product or doing hair masks and treatments, she explains to me what each chemical or substance does to treat my dry hair. I have had my hair bleached multiple times about 1.5-2 years ago. It was so bad that my hair started to break and my split ends were so visible. I remember the first time I met her I told her to cut it all off. But she knew that I didn't want her too. I just thought that would be the best solution for my hair when it was damaged. I started to go get 4-6 week hair treatments and hair masks and also toner to coat the bleach that made my hair look so bad. I did this for about 1 year from January 2017 - December 2017. Now about 8 months later my natural hair has come to light. I came in today for another hair mask treatment and also got a trim. When I say the word trim, I really got a trim, it wasn't a cut that was over 4-5 inches long. It was just about 1-2 inches where she was able to cut my dry ends out. I always look forward to my hair appointments cause she is a true magician at what she does. I don't even need to tell her how I want my hair to be styled anymore because she already knows what I like and what will look good on me. She is so fashion forward and will give any recommendations to whatever hair cut your face will look good in. As for me, I love the long layers.
