Nothing fancy here, but these guys put almost every other donut I've ever eaten, to shame. I've never been fan of Boston creme or the custard like creme filling, but the ones from here are amazing. They are always very fresh, and every donut I've ever had has been simply melt-in-your-mouth delicious! Try the old fashioned french cruller-it's the kind that gets piped out, and has a light and airy texture, similar to a cream puff. I never knew they were so good. Like I said, don't be deceived by this place's simple facade. The location is tucked behind main street and part of a strip mall, but is worth seeking out as these donuts are simply the best! read more

I must have passed by this place a million times on my way to Julio's Restaurant. Today, I stopped in for a look-see...and was so glad I did. What greeted me were cases of glistening glossy donuts and bars. They looked as if they just came out of the oven and were dipped in glaze. I bought a half dozen: maple bars, glazed, berry filled, and apple fritters. Each one has been delicious. The consistency is a little denser than the average Krispy Kreme - more like old-timey deep fried donuts. Great Mexican food followed by a great dessert at Countryside...how can you hate that?? read more

I can't believe that no one has written a review! This is a tiny donut shop in the small strip mall at the west end of Main Street. There isn't much for seating and the parking lot usually is a challenge, but the donuts are definitely worth it. Personally, I heart the apple fritters - especially if I get there when they have just been made and are still warm. A secret - so shhhh - if you get there later in the morning and buy donuts to go - and are pleasant to the ladies serving you, you may just end up with a few extra donuts in your bag. I personally have gotten yelled at when I got home "Why did you buy so many donuts!!!" - and am not believed when I say - "I only got 2" and there are 4 in the bag. read more

Lived in the area for 4 years and every time I'm served by the owner and every time it's a negative experience. Today my 9 yr old and I came in and she not only WASN'T WEARING A MASK, but COUGHING as she grabbed my son's donut. I threw it away. I'm a nurse in this community fighting COVID and I was absolutely disgusted. Never coming again. Other times she's pushed the tip jar in front of me whilst paying or been rude to my kids when they haven't ordered immediately. The donuts are great on a good day. Some days I've gotten the raised ones and they've been raw. During COVID, I'd stay away. They don't seem to care about PPE or just standard precautions. I thought I didn't like donuts for over 20 years before I moved to the bay area and had Stan's donuts. Now that I have moved to Woodinville, I have fallen in love again. These donuts are amazing. Best donuts around by far. Soft and fluffy, perfect glaze. The maple bars melt in your mouth. This place gets it done. I don't even bother to eat any other donut anymore. Worth a drive from anywhere around. As for the other reviewers saying the older lady is rude; I think she just doesn't always understand what you're saying - a combo of ESL and perhaps hearing loss. She always has a smile for me. And I have no patience for people complaining they only take cash. If you can't dig out enough change from your car for an 85 cent donut you're unprepared for much bigger emergencies than the lack of a donut. read more

My boyfriend introduced me to this place when we first started dating. The only issue I have is the front lady isn't nice at all. She pushes donuts on you, then puts donuts in your bag anyways. I told her I only wanted 2, she scuffled and told me "why not, you already fat" Excuse me. Just.... No. I have eaten a lot of donuts in my lifetime and have the body to show for it? I have had donuts at other Countryside locations and they have always been tasty. We just moved to Kenmore and this morning ventured here for donuts. Upon getting home, my daughter ate a sprinkled cake donut, my husband two glazed and me an apple fritter. While sweet and sugary and otherwise tasty, every bite was almost like drinking deep fried oil out of a straw. The donut had the overall taste of over-used fry oil and and the grease in my mouth was disgusting. Husband and daughter complained of the same. My total price was $6.25 and I handed the woman working behind the counter a $20. She asked me for a quarter so I went to my car to fetch one (and was gone maybe 20 seconds). Came back and she had disappeared, leaving me waiting for a few minutes while she did whatever she was doing. She then came back and gave me $13 change for what should have been $14. I went in just to get a cup of coffee and thought to get a couple doughnuts for my hubby and little bite for myself. Well the coffee hit the spot and the doughnut was.... Well my goodness the taste is everything I want in a guilty pleasure(yes my hubby had agreed) Fresh, crispy, fluffy, melty sugar glaze and not an artificial flavor on the palate like you would get at a store. The non-trans fat, sugar and fried bread hit all the pleasure spots to satisfy the taste bud satisfaction. I've been here a few times. I prefer the Hillcrest Bakery around the corner (yum) but they're closed on Sunday and Countryside is not. Pros: Good selection of donuts late morning. Easy parking. The donuts are generally very good though some are on the greasy side, especially the fritter. Decent prices, .75 for regular donut, 1.50 for fancy (fritter). .30 off for half dozen, .90 off for dozen Cons: Cleanliness. I've always thought of this as a four star shop, but... today at the right hand side of the display case, on the customer side, hanging off of a fire extinguisher, dangled a roll of flypaper. Gross. The donuts are great, I would recommend this place but keep an eye on your order, I took my daughters to pick out their favorite donuts and came home with 1 shy of a dozen, even though I ordered a dozen, the white sprinkle that my daughter was looking forward to having after breakfast was not in the box. Really love this place and their light fluffy donuts. The light texture is comparable to Krispy Kreme, but much more affordable. Place isn't exactly the prettiest, but I wouldn't expect much of a little hole-in-the-wall spot (especially for a donut shop) the lady isn't very personable, but I don't think she's outwardly trying to be rude, I think her English is limited and probably isn't familiar with American mannerisms, but she's always been very sweet to me. I live only a few miles away from this place. I finally biked here for the first time and tried a donut. It was around 3 pm (they close at 5) so I didn't see all of their menu options available. Like any bakery, come early and you'll get better quantity and quality. Anyway, I got an apple fritter and, like from a strong gust, it blew my socks off. Big, crispy and delicious! Also, the nice lady working there threw in a free chocolate coconut cake donut in my bag. I didn't notice until I opened the bag after I had left the building. Very nice. Top notch. Super supreme. I was having trouble choosing 6 donuts. My donuts were fresh. The apple fritters were super sweet and crunchy. Went in for a dozen to go but they gave us a couple extra on the house. With most places in the area charging $2-3 a donut it's incredible that all this cost just $10! Everything was fresh and tasty. I always lean towards the simple ones and love the plain glazed though there are so many to choose from. This was my first time here but we will definitely be back. read more

I walked out with a half dozen donuts. 1 maple cruller, 1 chocolate cruller, 1 chocolate old fashioned, 1 chocolate glazed Bismarck with cream, 1 ice glazed lemon filled, 1 buttermilk plus a chocolate cake donut freebie. Since I've got back to my car and opened my box of morning glories I've devoured my favorite donuts. The two crullers disappeared in less than 3 minutes. So light, fluffy, with a little bit of moistness on the inside of the ring. The fellow customer who walked in a second after me asked if they were the eggy ones. Hmmm I never thought them as that but ok I guess so. All this time I never thought to think egg. Whatevs. So yummy. I should have bought some cold milk. May have to go back inside for one. Which I did. I found myself using words like pillowy to my inSO that early evening to describe the pleasureable texture. I got money back out of my $20. Half dozen is only $5.50. Arguably the best tasting donuts in the area, and definitely the best tasting donuts for the price. They're fresh and cheap! The ladies working there are very nice and sometimes throw in a free donut in my bag. Two donuts and a large coffee is only like $2.75, can't beat that! Since there is usually only one person serving the customers at a time, there can be a bit of a wait if the people in front of you are getting a lot of donuts. Oh my gosh I am a diehard Krispy Kreme doughnut fan until the day I die. But these donuts!!! Will give KK a run for their money ANY DAY! (Please dont tell anyone from the South that I said that). I love KK because they come out fresh and hot and the red Hot Now sign tells me exactly when to drive thru! But these. My friends and I visited this place and my nostrils about fell off of my face from the overwhelming smell of freshly baked goodness. I resisted the urge to order any and my friend ordered a 1/2 dozen. Being the true KK fan that I am, I ignored those donuts for the whole day and only picked up one the next day in HOPES that they would be hard and not good so I can keep my true love for KK. But OMGEE when I sunk my teeth into this delectable donut I could not believe my tastebuds. So good and 24 hours later?? Not stale, not hard, no need for heating in the micro just as delicious as I imagine the day before. I was really excited to try this local donut shop that I'd never been to in 19 years of living up the hill. Big disappointment! The donuts are fair at best. Not THE best donut, not even close. I got several types of donuts. Hubby wasn't impressed, nor was I. (The lady gave me a raised donut, to sample, to show off how much better it is than Krispy Kreme. Small little donut shop located in a stripmall just down the street from another bakery in Bothell. Has room for maybe 5-6 small tables of 2-3 people. They also serve a few beverages like milk, OJ, & coffee. They claim the oil they used is trans fat free so I guess that's a plus? You're eating donuts... The donuts themselves, I only got the cake donuts, & they were pretty good, had a nice crunchy outer & was pretty moist inside. One thing that could be improved is the labeling of the donuts, maybe just the day I came in, but all of the cake donuts sort of looked the same; it was difficult to distinguish between the devil's food cake donuts & the regular cake donuts. I'm personally a fan of chocolate cake donuts, so I thought I'd get 6 of those, but of the 2 that I ate, one that was in the tray that looked like it was all chocolate was in fact, not. *sad face* Service on the other hand could be a bit better, not sure if it was just the lady running the counter today, but she seemed a bit slow to recognize the wants of the customers in line, the one customer in front of me pretty much had a dollar in her hand & it was even pretty obvious to me she wanted to get a donut & run. The lady @ the counter just casually did her own thing before turning to help the customer. In addition, after I placed my order & gave her cash, she stopped to chat a bit with the bakers in back before counting out my change. The cake donuts were a bit on the small side for being 75 cents each, but then again, I guess that's relatively cheap compared to some of the other donut places in the Seattle area I've been to. I am not a donut fanatic. I'm not like Homer Simpson who drools at the mere thought of donuts. But, I like a good donut every now and then. Countryside Donut House in Bothell may make those donut cravings more frequent. I was in the area and decided to try this place. This is a great local donut shop. I got donuts in the middle of the afternoon (generally not a good time for donuts) and they were still very good, very fresh, and still better than any hot krispy krud...er kreme donuts. As stated in another review, this nondescript store is located in a strip mall between main st and 183rd. It's not fancy. Probably won't be featured in I'm-a-snobby-foodie monthly. But, they make very good donuts. If you like eating spoonfuls of sugar then by all means go to krispy kreme. If you want previously frozen, trucked in donuts, head on over to dunkin donuts. But, if you want an inexpensive, fresh, very well made, and delicious donut then go to countryside. read more

We ended up coming here unexpectedly on a Sunday when adjacent Hillcrest Bakery was closed. We had not yet looked it up on Yelp but were pleasantly surprised to see a four star rating after we parked. We were there in the early afternoon, and very few donuts varieties were left by then (a good sign!), but we did enjoy the cake donuts (chocolate frosted), which are our favorites to try.
