As many of you, in the Bothell area, Mochinut opened and then it closed "for maintenance" for several months. During this time, it apparently changed hands and now has new ownership. Before the closed down, I paid for two Korean dogs and after paying, their machine broke, so the employees then wrote me a "gift card" for me to bring back and get my two Korean dogs at a later day when they fixed it - all of us thinking it would be just a few days. They ended up closing for "maintenance" and then stayed closed for a couple of months - when I suppose this is the time it changed hands. I went in today with my "gift card" and ordered the two Korean dogs (which I had already paid for with the old owners) and ordered some other items as well. The employee took it to her manager. The manager then took it to the new owner, who was literally sitting 5 feet away from me. She said NO! Then after I explained the situation again, she said that she give me one. Not the two on the card. I totally get it. I could have been absolutely a liar and taking advantage. BUT I am not and was not. So, yes, it would have been nice for her to honor the words and obligations of the previous owners (she didn't keep any of the old staff either which made me sad because they were incredible staff and known for their great customer service), but she chose not to. Then the electronic menus were not working so the staff member had to read to me about a few things. Then I paid cash and they didn't even have coins to give me correct change. Looks like it's a rough start to what used to be a great mochinut store to go to. And she would have had made a long time customer had she trusted me, the card I brought in, and honored it. Today, I'm leaving with kind of a bad taste in my mouth and I haven't even taken a bite of anything yet. Hopefully the food tastes better than the service. read more

Cute shop, easy kiosk ordering, efficient operation. These doughnuts are light, and airy and are offered in fun flavors. The churro one was our favorite- a light, airy and not too sweet churro. Also tried the funnel cake doughnut and the Homer Simpson strawberry one. These are fun treats and I can see the novelty, however they were too oily for my taste. Great visit here with awesome service (got to meet the store owner)! My favorite part about this branch is their unique offerings- from Indian fusion paneer tikka dogs (which accommodates vegetarians and introduces a new culture into the mix) to themed donuts on special days (like baseball color themed donuts, cherry blossom themed donuts during full bloom season or tie-dye donuts for the Holi festival), this branch specializes in a variety of creative ideas! Mochinut is different from the classic donut because it is a fusion between the famous Japanese mochi and a regular donut, yielding a chewier texture. I personally really enjoy this style of donut, especially from here, since it isn't too sweet and it's also really fun to pull apart the donut one segment at a time (like little donut holes - does anyone else do this?) During my visit, there was high donut turnover so I got a freshly made batch of 6 donuts in order of preference: Homer Simpson, Blueberry Bae, Chocolate churro, Blackberry funnel cake (yummy but couldn't taste blackberry at all), cookies and cream (flavor wasn't strong enough for me- may have to be a chocolate base for me to be convinced), matcha (tasted too earthy for me, but I am also quite picky with my matcha!) I also tried the paneer tikka dog, which was great, but I also wished there was even MORE spice/masala flavor on it- it would be a great choice for folks with a lower spice tolerance though! Lastly, I tried their other specialty called the Boba Delight! This is essentially a mochinut boba soft serve sundae that surprisingly worked. We ordered a blackberry, churro, fruity pebbles and strawberry flavored donut and all were great, not too sweet, with that wonderful mochi texture and not too heavy. We were served quickly in a pretty box, able to order via touch screen to see all of the options and prices easily. The prices were about $3.50-4 each depending on quantity, which felt reasonable for the Seattle area - next time we're in the area, we'd definitely come back! read more

A teacher brought these donuts into the staff room today, and I was so excited to try two pieces!! The matcha tea one was very tasty (I am a huge green tea fan) and the chocolate one with rice crisps on top was good, too. These are a bit sweeter than I had expected, but probably ok for an occasional treat. I like the light and airy consistency of this dough versus a regular donut, but other people who like more traditional foods may think otherwise. My son I actually went there tonight to get some for our family and ended up trying some delectable pineapple vanilla soft serve ice cream and an all-beef rice dog as we waited to get some donuts to go. The people were extremely nice and friendly, and we were told everything is made fresh to order with natural ingredients. The tables, chairs, and cute decorations were also fun to look at. Expensive and very delicious donuts. Employees are different but somewhat professional and certainly nice. If I owned this business, I don't think I would be okay with my employees wearing sleeveless shirts no hair nets and no gloves. Although the location is really clean, the employees aren't covered up at all. It is kind of like Crumble where the donut options change on Mondays for the week . I love the churro, the plain, the honey, the honey with lemon, and funnel cake with powdered sugar and drizzle of chocolate. I cant wait to try the strawberry funnel cake and black sesame. The donuts have a really interesting texture- like a cruller but more chewy. Anyway, they are DELICIOUS! Drinks: I tried two of the drinks and they were really sweet and overdone. I thought it was also odd that they didn't offer sodas or water for purchase. Corndog: meat was in there somewhere I am sure but the coating overwhelmed everything. I also opted out of the sugar on the dog because I don't like savory and sweet on the same food item. This could be my problem. There are lots of combinations so maybe I just picked the wrong one on the suggestion of the store manager (beef with potato coating). We tried Mochinut around when it opened and it was good. I had never had a mochi donut prior to trying the donuts from here and I think I had set too high of expectations. They were tasty and had a nice texture but they weren't the best thing I've ever had either. I think I still prefer a regular donut over these. The star of the show for me was the corn dogs. I really wanted to fall in love with this place and leave a great review but I'm afraid it didn't quite meet my expectations. I think I hyped up too much for this. Let me start by saying the place is clean and has some cool interiors going on (instagramable). I ordered through the screen so didn't interact with staff aside from picking up the order. Being that the place serves mochi donuts, that's what I decided to try. I got a box of 3 regular mochinut, and 3 mini mochi balls. Everything looked good...nice packaging and all but it was the taste that didn't quite meet my expectations. I get that donuts are deep fried but the mini mochinut ball (which is not so mini) was waaaay too oily, at least for me and my husband. I appreciated the crunch when I first bit into it but the immediate overpowering oily-ness just killed it for me. Then I tried a bite of each of the mochinuts (matcha cranberry, caramel, and mocha). None were too good for me. I don't know what it is. I think the flavors weren't all that. Also, there wasn't a wide selection to choose from I think it was just 5 or 6 choices. What's better than a donut.. a Mochinut! Mochi like texture and is not too sweet! I'm glad they opened one in Bothell. They're different flavors every time I visit, and most aren't too sweet. They have Korean corn dogs, too, but honestly, I'm not a huge fan of it, not just this location but all. It tends to be a tad hard rather than crispy, so I stick with just the donuts. The service is nice, wait isn't too long for the food and smile when you walk in. The decor is cute, IG worthy wall and little stands for pictures. What a great little shop. This place is about a month old. It is clean, cute, and vibrant. I have been to a couple Mochinut locations but this one is the cutest. There are a lot of photo op spots for those IG posts. The owner was very nice and all employees looked happy to be there. The minute you walk in you are greeted with giant screens to order or check out the menus. We have found that even though you are expected to order on the technology an employee is always happy to help. We went with one of each featured donut as well as a Korean half and half. It is half hot dog and half mozzarella stick rolled in flaming hot Cheetos. Even though the donuts are sitting there waiting for you they were incredibly fresh. The Korean dog was the most fresh as it was a bit of a wait. However, the family in won't of us ordered 7 of them. The wait is more than worth it as all of the food is fabulous. I also ordered the strawberry lemonade, this time without boba or any other jelly substitute. A bit heavy on the ice for me but same as every other restaurant. Love Mochinut!!!! So happy to have one near home. Cute place! There are only a few tiny tables, so lingering here is unlikely. Ordering system is easy. There are multiple screens for self ordering but you can also order through one of the workers if that's preferred. Everyone there has been very nice and welcoming every time we came in. Fantastic location of mochinut. I love mochinut and the quality the uphold no matter what location they have. I will say, I have rated mochinut before in the past as a 4 star. It was nothing about the food that made in 4 starts but the last location I went to. The staff was understaff and were relatively rude. But not here. At this location, the staff was so nice and accommodating for everything we wanted to eat or drink. Also, this location had a crazy set of donuts and they were a big reason for the 5 star rating. Currently in their soft open (grand opening is Saturday, July 22nd) there is a limited menu but this menu includes: six types of mochi donuts (mochinuts offerings change weekly, unsure if this will be the same), some korean dogs, and some bubble teas. The place is pretty sparse but has a great start. There's a photo wall with social media posts and the opposing wall is perfect for photos. To order, there is a walk-up with two screens available. After you order two tickets are printed for you: a receipt and a ticket with your number and contents of your order. I came by around 4 pm on a weekday, there was a queue of about 4 people. I waited about 5 minutes for my order, not bad! As they are in their soft open, be patient while staff train and they work out other pieces that will hopefully make this place an amazing spot. DIRTY! This place is so filthy. There is grime and dirt and dust on the floors everywhere, the countertops have layers of dirt and crumbs and sprinkles. The floor of the food prep area is equally as dirty. The machines are dirty. Their iPad is dirty. There is dust on surfaces in the lobby. The door to the back kitchen is also dirty. I lost my appetite waiting for our food and I'm concerned for the safety of our food if the establishment can't keep even its food prep or customer areas clean. We won't be back--it's not worth the health risk even if we like the donuts. read more

Grand opening in late July 2023, their mochi donuts are more chewy than other places I have had mochi donuts from and totally loved it. I was surprised that my favorite was the passion fruit with pocky sticks - it wasn't too tart so it was perfect for me. The donut menu was limited but they are planning to expand the offerings in the near future. Once they work out a few kinks, it will only be better - the Korean-style corn dogs took awhile to come out, but they were worth the wait. This was my first visit here. The staff was real friendly and the place was clean. Attending the soft launch just on a whim. We happened to be going to the Pet Store in the same parking lot. They were selling out quickly, and surprisingly on top of it for being (not even) day one. I had never had mochinut before and it was really good. I was expecting basically a donut, but it had a unique chewiness to it that was very pleasant. I also just loved pulled apart the mochi beads.
