    Club sandwich

Went in for dinner last night. Mary was our waitress, she was very friendly and efficient. We had Club sandwiches and they came out quickly full of meat and fries were crispy. Mary ensured that our iced teas were full and that we were doing ok. I'm sure we will be back!

We stopped by for lunch on our road trip from CA to TX. The restaurant ambiance is very cozy and christmasy when we visited. The service was great, the waitress was so cheerful and nice to us! The food was very good for the price, it was a comfort lunch after a long drive! Highly recommended

Well, here I M on the home stretch of a 4 state road trip. Just finished the 12 hour drive across Texas only to run out of water in the RV. We stopped in Wilcox, Az right off the fwy. Exit at a TA gas station and RV stop. The attendant At TA was so sweet and allowed me to fill my fresh water tank and recommended the restaurant next door to get a bite. No frills and at the time, it was pretty empty so I didn't get the benefit of looking at other peoples plates as they were coming out. LOL anyway, we ordered the chicken fried steak breakfast, pork chop breakfast and as alway, my son got a burger of some sort. I don't know why, but the food was surprisingly delicious. The vibe of the place was like a Denny's so I think that was my expectation but YAS, what a pleasant surprise. Pork chop was huge, fried but still juicy and seasoned to perfection. Jennifer, our server is definitely operating in her gift, she was the sweetest and most helpful server we've had in quite a while. Her hospitality was the icing on the cake. We had so much food left over and just really enjoyed the stop. For real, it's worth the time to drop in.

A little hard to find once you get off the freeway. I had to use Google maps There should be a sign just before Virginia St.. Jennifer is exceptional she is such a sweetheart. We got to talking about animals, starting with the baby birds in the nest outside.

    pancakes

when my boyfriend ordered a pancake breakfast his pancakes were burnt at the bottom and were falling apart with every bite. He couldn't even finish the pancakes.

The green chile chicken sandwich is amazing. Best chicken sandwich I've ever had, so for that it gets 5 stars.

My friend had the pastrami sandwich with pinto beans. He said it tasted good and the sandwich had an ample amount of pastrami. He really liked the pinto beans, good flavor and most importantly cooked to the correct texture. The waitress was super friendly and engaging which made it he experience that much better. Two ladies came in behind me and also waited. Finally a waitress said we can sit wherever and I can order at the counter. I ordered the 2 meat meal and chocolate chip cookies. So the ribs were extremely hard on the outside and dry. I thought I was going to choke in my hotel room by myself. The pork was very dry and had a weird taste like it was reheated. The Mac was over cooked and mushy. No flavor. The fries didn't seem to have salt either. Normally I don't waste food but I couldn't eat it. Ended up just eating fries and cookies. I've eaten BBQ in TX and this just wasn't it.

OMG, what an EXQUISITE meal--My fried pork chop dish and hubby's vegan platter--chef's kiss perfection! My pictures do not do it justice! Chef Brian checked in during the meal to regale us with witty stories of cookng for luminaries like Mary J Blige, Eddie Murphy, Forrest Whittaker et al! It was the ultimate Chef's table experience!! You've got Forbes on one corner, Ugly But Honest Pizza on another, and Café Desta / 5 Points Market nearby, each are great for very different reasons. Chef Brian's absolutely belongs in that conversation. I came in with a friend who's spent a few years in the South and takes collard greens very seriously. To our surprise, the collards here are vegan and excellent. Great texture, deep flavor, and not an afterthought at all. Chef Brian told us it's something like a 20-hour process, which definitely shows. A quick heads-up: they do not have mustard, ketchup, ranch, or pickles. If those are must-haves for you, bring them along. Service was good, especially considering it was essentially a two-person operation. Chef Brian was upfront that things were running a bit long due to earlier guests, which we appreciated. We took the opportunity to grab a drink nearby and came back, no issue at all. The food was outstanding. We ordered the fried chicken dinner with fried potatoes and collard greens. The chicken was phenomenal: crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. I initially assumed a pickle brine, but Chef Brian explained it's actually the herbs he uses that give it that depth. Whatever the method, it works. Excellent food, honest service, and a smaller, no-frills space. Chef Brian is clearly an accomplished chef, with appearances on Top Chef and Bar Rescue, among others, but more importantly, he knows food and community. Definitely add this spot to your list.

The guy working there was just plain nice and awesome personality. I ordered to go. Unfortunately my ribs looked like rubber way overcooked and the food was cold this was my first time trying this food it smelled great from outside the restaurant. Beans were spicy I liked them but had some kick so those be aware of it if you're not into spicy hot foods. Brisket was tender but cold for $50.00 I expect some quality food from a bbq place. I don't think I'll be stoping back on the way back I'm from California on a road trip to New Orleans. Very disappointed we had a 5 family members they all complained how bad their food was too. The positions were very small too 3 bites for the one slice of brisket you get. I actually excepted a bit more of a serving when you see the pictures of the order on the main menu. When you receive it looks nothing like you ordered it gets very upsetting and hurts your pocket book. We did not have time to return or get a new order as it was a quick stop and go.
