1/2 a turkey club and seasoned curly fries

a hole in the wall bar off the beaten path and definitely where the locals go. Split a turkey club and curly fries my hubby and it was yummy and the fries were hot! A great place to stop in for food and a drink after visiting the Mescal Movie Studio, which was amazing and worth the drive!

I came here on a recommendation, and can't say I was all that impressed. Stopped for breakfast and while the menu has some good choices there's not much out of the ordinary. I truthfully wasn't expecting much either,.especially after driving up. This is one of those local places,.simple and basic,.where the food could be really awesome,.or simply awful. It fell into the latter category. I ordered the chicken fried steak with two eggs, 'over easy'. It's something I rarely would order for breakfast, yet seemed enticing. Besides, I was hungry. I got it with a side of biscuits and gravy. Why not? Could be really good! The coffee was so-so, and frankly I've had a hard time finding any decent coffee in Arizona. Spoiled and arrogant, perhaps, but come on, watered down mild roast doesn't cut it. When the tood arrived it looked like a mass of white gravy sludge. OK, but give it a chance. It could taste good? Nope. The meal was tasteless, devoid of any flavor, and had a very strange metallic taste. Lots of Tabasco helped some. The eggs were just OK in preparation for 'over easy', but cold. The hash browns were horrible pattys of frozen bricks. And, what happened to the toast listed on the menu? Unfortunately, the biscuits and gravy also were bland and tasteless. Very disappointing. I can't even vouch for the consistency of the biscuit since they were so heavily smothered in lifeless gravy. It is good to note that three others in my dining party seemed fine with their meals, although there wasn't much comment either. I didn't want to be too critical as one was a local who gave the recommendation and really likes the place. The restaurant and bar has character, for an Old West kind of bar theme. I do give two stars as service was good and sincere. They seemed to want to do right. I would have said something about the quality yet I seriously doubt it would have mattered... and perhaps it was just me and not what their typical clientele expects.

We drove down the highway heading home from a trip and noticed this place from the freeway was packed. We live in Vail so thought we would try it out one day for lunch! Based on the current reviews over time I would venture to say the reviews span multiple owners/changing hands. The place was clean, that is huge these days right? While they clearly did not have any mask requirements, no hand sanitizer out -- the place was clean and tidy and did not feel unsafe in a pandemic sense. Looks like they do live music as well and had a DJ station. The folks working there were SUPER friendly/welcoming, particularly our server who was really sweet and attentive. The menu is pub/bar food. We ordered some Jalapeno Poppers, a burger and a steak sandwich. The food was okay -- to me it was meh. I am not sure if it was the length of time it took to get these items when we were the only ones there or that the food was just status quo.

    The Bar atmosphere!

Passing by the Bar, Meg the Bartender was really Sweet. She played music for us. She was informative of what goes on there. We had fries very good we ordered more and the beer was cold. We look forward to coming back when we go through.

It's just a neighborhood bar. Simple bar food served, it's a decent meal. Service is usually good, and they keep the place pretty clean.

Best bartenders, great salads, homey atmosphere in a quiet location. Sometimes they stock my favorite Italian liqueur: Tuaca.

Between the live music and the old historic vibe, I think it's one of the coolest experiences in town! The history behind the place is also really interesting. It's the second-oldest restaurant in Arizona and opened in 1880. The building used to be the Grand Hotel before it burned down in 1882 & was rebuilt, and there's a lot of history connected to it. The food isn't luxury dining, but I've never been disappointed with a burger or sandwich with some onion rings (really tasty btw). My girlfriend also loves the Macho Nachos. Overall it's just a fun spot with good prices, good service, and a Wild West-sized load of character

Even on a Tuesday afternoon in mid-April, this joint was bustling with live music, servers rushing about in their period costumes, and the chatter of happy patrons enjoying themselves and taking it all in. Whether a lover of frontier history, western cinema, or just plain ol' drinking in a genuine saloon, Big Nose Kate's screams, "WELCOME TO THE TOWN TOO TOUGH TO DIE!" Upon entering, our party was seated in a raised section above the main floor near the front windows. It was an excellent spot to see all the action (including a monitor playing the movie Tombstone, BTW) as we perused the menu of appetizers, entrees, and libations. The selection of specialty drinks was impressive, though I opted for a simple "Big Ass" draft pilsner (flavorful and locally brewed). My wife did order a Cowboy Sangria - and it appears wimpy drinks "don't go around here, Law Dog," because she thought it was good but a bit too strong. I actually had to finish it for her. (Such a chivalrous sacrifice!) But don't assume that Kate's is just a drinking establishment; there's quite a variety of eats, as well. Good-sized, tasty looking burgers and sandwiches passed by our table, which were tempting; however, not being overly hungry, we decided to sample a few of their appetizers as we moved on to another round of beers. The Buffalo Wings were good but nothing really special. The Soft Pretzel Basket - actually one HUGE pretzel served with cheese and mustard sauces - was warm, salty, and much bigger than anyone anticipated. It was enjoyed by our entire table. When visiting, don't neglect a trip to the gift shop, which can be accessed from a spiral staircase right in the center of the dining area. Their menu recounts that a part of this underground area was once the abode of the saloon's swamper, and you can even view his living cubby and mining tunnel when below. Of course, there's lots of branded swag available for sale down there, too! Big Nose Kate's Saloon is a must-see stop for Tombstone visitors. Priced aren't exorbitant, portions are generous, and the food and drinks are pretty darned good, as was evident from the satisfied looks of the diners and drinkers around us . You may even be approached by Steve, who offers FREE photos (from your personal camera or phone) with props and piano-top poses - now how can you beat that value? Make it a point to come on in, belly up to the bar, and enjoy the saloon's hospitality.

The server split it for us as we thought it might be 'BIG' due to retail price. Not so much. It was really small and off the French roll with old beef meat that was very rancid and not even chewable . The French fries were white in color and so under cooked. We should have known when we first walked in at lunchtime on a Thursday and the place was almost empty. They currently do not have a liquor license so maybe that is why they charge $3.50 for a fountain soda drink? Another Rip-Off!!!!! Sadly, we will never return to this GV establishment!!!

Then sat for 13 minutes before anyone took our drink order. We ordered the wagu sliders and the seafood pasta. Sadly I heard the waiter telling another table about the daily specials, ours didn't. The food came out within ten minutes. The sliders were well done and dry. Lacked flavor. Served with fries and ketchup on the side. Fries were good! Ranch was super watery and had very little flavor. The seafood pasta was rich, and served lukewarm. There were several pieces of decent sized scallops. No one checked on us during the meal and were in need of water refills. The place is super overpriced for the area. Too many other options in the area to come back.
