Bar has a friendly atmosphere. Some nights there's music. Sometimes there's barrel racing, rodeo roping, etc. There's also vendor bazaars or swap meets. You just never know what's going on without checking their facebook page but it's always fun. Oh and the drinks are great! read more

This is a great place to stop if i need of refreshment in Benson. The bar sits directly beside a rodeo arena. They had several events scheduled for the week from roping to a full rodeo, sadly we missed any action on the day we stopped in. The bar its self is clean enough despite being as old as the hills. There is a weathered looking pool table and two horrible televisions that seem to be showing QVC and ESPN... hard to tell with all the static. Homemade beef jerky available if your hungry and/or brave. The great news is that this place has an old school liquor license that allows for patrons to take their drink anywhere on 4+ acre property. Also, the prices here are good and they have a decent selection. No complaints on the service. read more

A young woman wrote a review about the Arena on 4/21/21. I was there along with quite a few other people. She walked thru the door yelling it was her birthday (looking for free drinks?). Obviously drunk to many so customers were glad she moved on out the door. I go out for a drink about 3-4 times a year. Not a clicky bar but does have people willing to say hello when treated with respect. read more

The Arena Bar has always been a favorite up until recently for my husband and I. We frequent the bar on a weekly basis, I feel like we are pretty good customers, don't start any crap, go home when we should etc. They had a roping and my husband was walking across the landing of the bleachers and he fell through a weak spot. A gal whose husband does maintenance for the bar's owner came over and asked if he was OK and went inside. I went inside and reported it to the bar's manager at the time and that gal that witnessed it backed me up. A little while later the gals husband came out with a board and repaired it, he mentions to me and my husband how he told the bar owner that she needed to replace that board before someone got hurt. Now if we were the suing kind, BAM there would have been a lawsuit. But we aren't. The whole thing that has upset us and still has us upset is Dantre was standing at the end of the stairs that night and did not have the descents to say hey I am sorry you got hurt, I hope you'll be OK or a month later when she seen me in at Walmart say Hey how's your husband? For that, I will NEVER give her a dime of my business again. read more

We wanted a quiet bar with a pool table, and we got it! After a long, busy day this was the perfect spot to hang out. Dive bar feel, with a horse arena out back. We were there on a Monday night, so there weren't any events, but we will be back for one! Out of five taps, one of them was Sierra Nevada which was a fun surprise. The bartender was super friendly and cool. Her name was very different, which is why I can't remember it now. Her father owns the place and she manages it. We will definitely be back, on quiet Mondays as well as busy events. What a cool find! read more

Benson Arizona. I don't make too many promises, not since getting married anyway, but here's one especially for my Yelp friends. I promise that if you're in Benson Arizona on a Saturday night in the springtime, there will be absolutely nothing to do except come here. This place is an oddity. It's a rodeo arena and bar all rolled into one. From inside the bar, the large plate glass windows showcase the arena. Or.. You can take your ice-cold beer outside without putting it in a cup, mosey on over to the bleachers and watch rodeo while drinking beer. Or.. You can get all fucked-up while sitting in the bleachers, go pee in the nearby parking lot, leave your truck door open by mistake, and later return to a truck whose driver-side door has now been sprung from it's hinges - obviously the result of someone much drunker than me and likely driving a Dodge pickup. Should have known better. So one star only for the guy who kissed my door with his rear bumper. The Arena bar is tucked away off the main drag and it's kind of hard to spot. You, however, won't be, as you drive back to the Motel 8 in your newly remodeled truck - it's door propped open and nearly touching the ground - a scene reminiscent of Chris Farley and David Spade's car in Tommy Boy. Thank God the sheriff was at the Arena that night and not patrolling the roads. So another four stars for my not getting a dewey. Note: Repair shops aren't open Sundays in Tuscon, making the drive back to Phoenix sans driver-side door a real fucking treat. If you tell me I'm stupid, at least have the decency to speak loudly into my left ear since it's now mostly deaf from the 180 mile, wind tunnel experience. Go Arena Bar. read more

This is pretty much the best bar in the world. I went here with some buddies and ordered a pitcher of beer for like 2 cents then noticed that on the other side of the huge window a dude was engaging in some legit rodeo action. There were horses, little cow things, beer, some sweet Hank Williams karaoke, and many cowboy hats. There were no flirtinis ordered at this joint. I wish I could teleport to this bar. Cute, clean, divey place that isn't trying to be ironic (i.e., not a hipster in sight). Good service, and the cheapest round of drinks we've paid for in ages. We're not into rodeos, and there wasn't one going on anyway, but sitting by the huge window wall provided lovely views of the far-off mountains. The row of locals holding up the bar didn't seem to mind us so we kept to ourselves and it was a lovely visit. This was actually one of the best places we stopped at in Benson. read more

Reckon I have had beers at this bar 12-14 times over the last 20 years. Never met a bartender that wasn't fun and fast and pretty darn hot. Customers usually local and 'bout as real as it gets. Country/ranching area with arena for team ropers and a few rodeos. The draw here is an authentic western small town neighborhood bar with a good juke box or country band on weekends and the friendliest patrons who make strangers feel at home. If you can't kick back and relax at this place you need help. If they aren't out of jerky, eat some; it is awesome. This place is worth the drive from Tucson just for a Friday night and sleep someplace close by. Wouldn't want some local patron getting into a wreck due to a city person driving drunk. read more
