My brother and I stopped in for a drink and food after a round of golf on a Thursday afternoon,…read moreabout 3:30. I started to say we received "bad" or "poor" service. However, the reality is that we received "no" service. The sign at the hostess station indicated you could sit at the bar (open seating) or wait to be seated. We proceeded to the bar and waited, and waited, and waited.... Note that there were other patrons, 6-8, who had been served and were eating, so clearly there was staff there somewhere. However, after waiting 8-10 minutes and not seeing a single staff member we decided to leave. I understand that a lot of restaurants are resorting to minimal staffing to save money, but this is ridiculous. During the time we were there, we saw no one, no one greeted us to perhaps indicate they would be with us soon, nothing. Absolutely nothing! We departed and headed down the street to Native Bar & Grill and have no plans to ever return.

When we walked in, it wasn't busy however there wasn't much staff around and the few staff we saw…read morewere just hanging out. Also when we were sat, every single table was dirty and I'm not exaggerating about it. They all had dishes and dirty cups and plates and old food. Surely this has to be against some health codes. Usually when we have come before, it's clean, the service is quick and the soda is not flat. I don't know what's going on but probably not going to come back if this is the norm for this place.

I didn't know about this place until it showed up on Yelp as a bar in Sierra Vista about a year…read moreago. I had never heard of it so I decided to check it out. It's located on the north end of a strip mall on the east side of SR92. There is no marquee off the highway, which is one reason it's not easy to find. I put the address in my Google Maps and it got me to the front door. I made Punchy's a meetup place for my beer-drinking friend yesterday. He, too, hadn't heard of it. We both walked in on a Wednesday at 3:45pm. The bar area had its steady clientele and another table of three sat nearby. What people first notice as they enter is the spaciousness. The bar is a horseshoe bar with room for 12 stools. It's a full bar, with 12 beers on tap and many more bottled. Most of the draft beer is only $5. That is on the lower end when compared to other bars in the area. I ended up ordering two different beers during my stay: Big Blue Van wheat beer and a Wow Wheat, and also had a late lunch from the food truck and had a patty melt for $7. It looked and tasted so good, my friend ordered one as well. He had his Dragoon IPA with that. Service was friendly and efficient. I like the dog-friendly shaded patio. I will definitely take advantage of it once it cools down some. There is much going on during the week. Mondays is Cornhole day in the evenings, Thursdays is bike night, and there are bands on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. There are at least two pool tables and an air hockey table.

I always enjoy coming to Punchy's. It's a great vibe and the place to be on the weekend nights…read more I've been here on the week days too and it's always fun. This is where all my friends want to go on a night out. The bartenders are cool. Buzz dogs is AMAZING! I crave the burgers from there. Genius to have a food truck off the patio. It brings in more customers to the bar.

Pretty interesting building there right on the train tracks. It's got a cool dive bar feel inside with a large beer and food menu, good variety there. I went with a flight to try a few - Mexican lager, Hefeweizen, razzberry, and a mocha Java stout (maybe messed up the names a bit, but you get the idea). The hefe was my favorite, and my husbands, too. The razzberry one was a close second, but I could have done without the other two, not my cup of tea but wanted to give them a try! I don't see Sonoran hot dogs on menus often and being new to Tucson, I've been super curious about them so that was my meal choice. DIVINE. It's hard to mess up a hot dog. But this was a really good hot dog. Would order again and again. The price was right as well - $7! We thought the entire menu was very reasonably priced, compared to others in the area offering similar varieties. My husband had a cheesesteak that he said was really good, he would also order it again. Overall, we had a solid experience. Good beer and good food. I do want to add that this isn't my first time attempting to visit Barrio - we tried once before but were blocked by the train. We tried to wait it out but didn't know how long it would be and gave up after about 15 minutes. Just kind of a bummer of a location for a place with good food and beer. I did see on their menu that they offer $1 off beer if you get stuck because of the train, that is a nice touch. But, there's no perks like that if you are on the other side. It looses a star for that.
