Immediately walking in, I like it. It's really big in here and it's quite cozy. If you ask me probably a perfect place to watch sports. They have a huge screen TV at the back of the restaurant and a nice large bar, as well as the seating area. high tops as well as regular tables. This place is really big inside! Seems really perfect for a lot of people and all the staff seem happy. The server who took care of me as I walked inside was really nice. I didn't want to sit at the table that she chose and she gladly allowed me to sit wherever I wanted to. I'm not in a rush so I sat over towards the wall where I could see the TV screens. One of the things that I really like is they have condiments at each of the tables, which was convenient. I chose the fresh hand cut fries and I've been really wanting fresh zucchini, Amber assured me that it was Hand-battered and fresh so I'm hoping that that will be good. It's really comfortable in here and cool. Nice music, perfect volume. I'm so tempted to have a cocktail, but I'm not sure. The zucchini came out super fast and super hot! You can absolutely tell that they were just hand-battered and fresh. I like all the little crispies too. The zucchini is really hot and a very light breading. It's really hard nowadays to find like fresh fried zucchini. I really liked it! The ranch is good too! There's a whole vibe in here and it's really positive!! The staff was attentive to people walking in, it was really nice to see considering my experience 30 minutes prior. I like the amount of veggies on the burger,Lots of fries. I got a lunch special, it was a great deal with my drink included. Amber took care of me and she was very attentive, friendly and shared a little bit of history with me. Servers matter. She took great care of me! She informed me this building was a Golden Corral where the current owner worked in his youth, later buying the building and turning it into JDs Grill. This visit was a win, definitely giving it a thumbs up and I am excited to come back and try their bone-in Wings! They do have happy hour specials and I absolutely do recommend the fried zucchini! The outside Sitting area seems nice, but I think I'll wait until it cools down to visit out there! Overall, it was a nice experience and they may be doing something for the Justin Gaethje fight Celebration that will be coming up here this year! Stay tuned! read more

I was driving down from the White Mountains back to Tucson and stopped in Safford/Thatcher for gas and some food. I stumbled across JD's Grill House. Misty was my server and she was very pleasant and checked on me often. She recommended the chicken tenders basket, so I ordered it. Tenders, fries and a soft drink included for $15+. Score. 4% cash discount. The dining room was clean and quiet, it was well past the lunch hour. My food came out hot and fresh. It was good. My only complaint was I paid cash and was given change for the credit card price. I didn't get the 63 cents discount. Small issue but annoying. I wasn't going to bother her for the change. I left all that I received for her tip. Will I return? probably not, the menu was not that intriguing to me and the atmosphere was typical sports bar and a bit dark. read more

Music is so loud that you can't have a nice dinner conversation. We had to leave when we mentioned it to our waitress and she was rude.

We were seated right away and our server was attentive to our needs. Our meals came with one trip to the salad bar. The items on the salad bar were fresh and the space clean. We ordered a combo appetizer, mostly breaded and fried, but I thought they were yummy. My favorites were the mushrooms and the cheese curds. Our meals came out shortly after we got the appetizer. Our server apologized for it, but I know she has no control over the kitchen. My shrimp meal was delicious. Six large shrimp, nicely seasoned. Their sides are all carb heavy, but the meals come with green beans, so they gave me double green beans instead of another side. My husband said his chicken tenders weren't very crispy. He also had a baked potato and the green beans. The restaurant had several tv's, including a large one on one end of the room. Tables were spaced apart. read more

Everything I've tried is good but Wings are awesome and buffalo bacon chicken ranch is great. Consistent

My experience at this restaurant was extremely disappointing because of the management. The manager, Mike, consistently behaves in an unprofessional manner. Instead of addressing issues with employees privately and respectfully, he yells at them in front of the entire restaurant, creating an embarrassing and hostile work environment. On one occasion, he became so upset that he slammed a cabinet just to make a scene. That kind of behavior is completely unacceptable from someone in a leadership position. A manager should be setting an example of professionalism, not throwing tantrums that make both employees and customers uncomfortable. Respect goes both ways, and employees deserve to be treated with dignity. If management handled concerns calmly and privately instead of through public outbursts, the workplace would be much healthier. Based on my experience, the management here needs significant improvement. read more

Nice dog friendly patio. Could use a good cleaning. We stopped in after transitioning from remote camping to Roper Lake State Park. We shared the fish and chips. Nice fresh fish with out a lot of breading. Good fries. Service by Misty was excellent. read more

This place definitely has plus and minus's. Plus-salad bar, bottle of ranch dressing at the table, food was pretty good. Minus-super loud and it was only 1/3 full, seemed dirty, took awhile to get served. read more

Very shady place in general especially some of the staff. I used to love this place but has gone down hill quickly after they let go one of their main staples of that place! Won't ever return here. Do better JDs. read more

Great service and plenty of great choices on the menu. The beer is always cold and the burgers hit the spot!

This was my third time being here, and the third time the kitchen magically "lost my ticket" after waiting over 30 minutes so I cannot give a review on the food. The manager's eyeliner is definitely thicker than her patience- she came over with an attitude and did not help the situation at all. We definitely will not be back!! read more

I went there for my birthday today and I gotta say. I'm satisfied with this visit I mean look at the food in the picture and tell me it doesn't look delicious. I have to say that the service is kind of slow but I mean you can't blame them, it's full as heck. Overall this place is great and I'm definitely coming back. read more

Had the grilled chicken wings and onion rings and they were great! Server's were fast and attentive. Beer was cold! read more

We only had appetizers, they were OK, combo with wings that were chewy and we ordered them 3x crispy, zucchini, mushrooms seemed like they may have been old, kinda soggy. Service was good and the ambiance was a little noisy. read more

If you're ever in town and you're looking for a spot to grub at, this is the spot to go, no kidding. The wings here are off the hook! A friend of mine got a pizza with bbq chicken and other toppings and that was delicious! But the best part was the service. The girls there were fast, friendly, on point and they hustled! We were going to eat at a place down the road called "Copper steer steak house", but they treated us like crap the first second we walked in (feel free to read my review here on yelp and Google). So to the crew at JDs, great job and thank you for the hustle and hospitality! read more

Ok, what clown gave anything less than a 5 star??? Um, hello? Did you try the western burger? Hand ground beef in house? Using steak trimmings? (They hand cut and trim their own steaks????) Get it together people! "Best burger in a hundred miles" award. Like it! read more

Very, very, very good burgers and fries. I chose the western and hand cut fries. Those fries were like liquid gold. Super yummy and fresh. The burger was lip smacking delicious. To top it off, our server was super sweet and down to earth. She was very helpful and offered lots of advice and was thorough with the best food off the menu. She checked on us often and it felt like we were her only table. It is very loud though so don't eat inside if you feel that you want to have long drawn out conversations. read more

A coworker and I had business in town and walked to this place from our hotel. The beer was cold the food was great the staff was friendly as was every other patron in there. We had A-blast. Almost wished we had to stay another night, we would have gone back . It'll be my go to place from now on when I have to come back to Safford. read more

Please don't support this place. Just....Trust me ;) service is TERRIBLE And the food doesn't match the prices.

The service is always terrible. So slow and not usually very friendly. The majority of my party got the salad bar today and it was empty for almost an hour. They finally were able to get it when everyone else was already finished. Another table was waiting on it as well. I have come here several times and have never been impressed or even satisfied. The food is average at best. It's also way too loud, can't talk to anyone. read more

Husbands sandwich fell apart. Food wasn't terrible by all means but wasn't amazing. Service was good! But the place felt so dirty.

Food was tasteless. Service was even worse. The waitress was clueless, wandering around trying to find who ordered what. Got the order wrong after a long wait. Owner was an asshole who was complaining about the group that was patronizing his "restaurant". Stay away. Plenty of better places in Safford read more

Salad was like a pizza shop salad. You gotta prepare it. Whole tomatoes and onions. Cut it up more please. Some of my lettuce was brown. Steak was good. Wings were average. Bar food. read more

Firstly, the food was absolutely amazing. We had appetizers, burgers and wings. Everything was 100 percent cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. The service was completely phenomenal and they were on top of their game for a group of tired workers who came in for a post work meal. None of us live in thatcher as we are based out of Tucson. But we work in Safford/Thatcher/Pima fairly often. The whole vibe of the place made us feel right at home and we will ABSOLUTELY be coming back here every single time we come back to this area for work. 10 out of 10 I would recommend to anyone near or far! read more

Service was slow and unfriendly. Waited 10min for a new beer. Advised a waitress about the wait for the beer, she replied in a rude response "I'm not your waitress". Would have thought we would have gotten a let me check on that. And here's the topper. As we were finished with our food, and finishing our beers a roach ran across our table. I looked at the wall and a roach had been killed recently, and was still on the wall. Have a picture to prove it. If roaches were out on the dining area...imagine the kitchen. Definitely not coming back. read more

Terrible service every time we come here. The food is good, if you're willing to wait over an hour or more for your food. While we waited for our food, I counted 6 tables that were served their food before us, despite us arriving much sooner than the other guests. We waited patiently with two small children, and were served drinks when we first sat down and never checked on for refills or to apologize for the length of our wait. We ended up leaving. I won't be coming here again. It's a shame, as the food is great if and when you ever actually get it. read more

Great food and great service. We got some hotwings, drinks, a top sirloin and chicken tenders. All the food was great, even better than the steakhouse down the road. Jd Burger for lunch was horrible are service was not very good. We ordered burgers and fresh cut fries. The fries on my daughters and her husband's plate were burnt brown and hard but they were cold. OMG HORRIBLE FOOD AND SERVICE!!!!! FELT DISCRIMINATED!! Was in Safford for weekend working, not the first time I have been in this town. Me and my husband went to go have a steak. We both ordered the 6 Oz sirloin. It turned out to be like a rib. Service was horrible. We received our plates, we asked the waitress if that was the 6 Oz. She responded yes. We then told her we didn't want it. The steak was burnt, ordered medium well. Couldn't even cit it with fork. Manager came over to our table and we showed him plate. He agreed it was not right. He never once apologized or tried to correct order. I felt as being only mexican Americans in the place we were discriminated. We then paid tab for 3 beers we drank. We left and went to Branding Iron steakhouse. Wow what a difference. Everything from customer service to our plate. I will never step foot in that establishment again. I recommend Branding Iron. As you can see in the pics ordered same steak from both restaurants and we'll you can see for yourself. JD's customer service and food are horrible. I recommend Branding Iron where customer service is 5 stars along with their menu!!!!!!!! read more

I hate myself now for passing this up for years! My daughter, grandson and I stopped here after shopping. The breaded mushrooms are the best I've ever had! Unbelievable! Sorry I missed it all these years! read more

We've gone here 2 weekends in a row. Both times most of our food isn't hot after a considerable wait. My baked potato was hot but grilled shrimp, rice and melted butter (almost a solid) when brought to the table wasn't. My wifes burger was but the fries were barely warm. Duplicate experience the week before. If any place else was open on a Sunday we definitely would not go back. Once is a fluke, twice is a trend. read more
