WTF happened to this place?!?!?!! Bought some tortillas recently. So ugly. Burned, stiff, weird…read morecolor, just yuck! Nothing like what it use to be. Gone are the pretty, pliable, same as grandma's fresh yummy smelling tortillas that the valley has enjoyed for two decades before things went downhill. Every visit I give them another chance. So what changed? Oh, new owners 5 years ago (maybe more). The same sad story, they change ingredients to save money and result is a disaster. Stores, restaurants and customers drop off. How do I know, the employees shared what's the real story. The 30 day "training" period was completed ignored by the new owners, who btw knew nothing about running a food production business. (It's not empanadas out of your mother-in-law's kitchen) Of course the owners won't admit they ruined a good thing. They don't even spend time there. No personal investment or interest to get it right. But public opinion prevails. My disappointment even goes to the tortilla chips. I've bought them for over 15 years. Used to be awesome. Now, just crap!! It's like gambling, will it be a good batch or stale, stuck together, clumpy salted bag (if salted at all though label says sea salt) of flavorless corn masa. Note to manager, tell employees to STIR the chips as the cook!!! (And start with a good corn tortilla) Last but not least the place got a facelift. New logo and paint job. Trying to be hip I guess but obviously not a trained designer. Who buys food from a grey/black building?? Appetizing, NOT! The logo could be a hair salon or wart ointment. Plain, unimaginative, clip art, nothing that says fresh tortilla factory. The place has all kinds of tortillas and food products. But that doesn't matter if you can't master a simple flour tortilla that was once an incredible product. Sadly all the hype comes from those that don't know the difference. That didn't visit the shop long ago.

A little local trivia for anyone who remembers: back in the '90s, this building was a dry cleaner…read morewhere my parents used to drop off their clothes. Fast forward to post-COVID, and it's been transformed into something completely different: Fancy Pizzeria, run by a family with a clear passion for what they do, complete with an oven imported from Italy. Anytime someone says Safford needs a Chili's, I cringe... not because I don't like Chili's, but because good help is hard to find in a small town. The owners here seem to understand that, keeping things lean and hands-on with very little hired help. As a result, the service from the husband-and-wife team is genuinely great... though when it gets busy, things can slow down. I've experienced that firsthand, and walked out once a couple years ago after a long wait...but I came back, and I'm glad I did. The food is, simply put, amazing. The pizza has that perfect charred crust you usually only find in bigger cities or on the East Coast. The Italian sodas are excellent. I've yet to try anything, from appetizers to pasta dishes, that didn't hit the mark. Prices are a bit higher than most spots in town, but the quality absolutely justifies it when it's in the budget. I've heard the name "Fancy Pizzeria" was intentional: they wanted to set the expectation that this isn't your typical greasy pizza joint... and they deliver on that, consistently. The dining area has expanded quite a bit recently, and the decor is creative and unique, with many of the dishes and utensils sourced from local thrift shops. All in all, this place stands out in Safford in the best way. I genuinely love everything about it and hope they can continue to operate in the years to come!

I stopped by another day and got a cheese pizza with pepperoni and bell peppers and got an acactus drink. The drink wasn't bad, it was a nice bit of sweetness for my drive home! The pizza may have parts of the crust black, but it DID NOT taste burnt at all! I really got hooked after trying my second slice. The dough is really good! Was the perfect size ;) the owner is very polite and a great conversationalist! I think she's the owner anyways! I got to sit on their comfy benches while waiting for the pizza to bake. The site is closed from 2pm - 4pm.. if you are 20-30 minutes short... I think it's worth the wait! :). Great place, even greater vibes!!

They have a huge screen TV at the back of the restaurant and a nice large bar, as well as the seating area. high tops as well as regular tables. This place is really big inside! Seems really perfect for a lot of people and all the staff seem happy. The server who took care of me as I walked inside was really nice. I didn't want to sit at the table that she chose and she gladly allowed me to sit wherever I wanted to. I'm not in a rush so I sat over towards the wall where I could see the TV screens. One of the things that I really like is they have condiments at each of the tables, which was convenient. I chose the fresh hand cut fries and I've been really wanting fresh zucchini, Amber assured me that it was Hand-battered and fresh so I'm hoping that that will be good. It's really comfortable in here and cool. Nice music, perfect volume. I'm so tempted to have a cocktail, but I'm not sure. The zucchini came out super fast and super hot! You can absolutely tell that they were just hand-battered and fresh. I like all the little crispies too. The zucchini is really hot and a very light breading. It's really hard nowadays to find like fresh fried zucchini. I really liked it! The ranch is good too! There's a whole vibe in here and it's really positive!! The staff was attentive to people walking in, it was really nice to see considering my experience 30 minutes prior. I like the amount of veggies on the burger,Lots of fries. I got a lunch special, it was a great deal with my drink included. Amber took care of me and she was very attentive, friendly and shared a little bit of history with me. Servers matter. She took great care of me! She informed me this building was a Golden Corral where the current owner worked in his youth, later buying the building and turning it into JDs Grill. This visit was a win, definitely giving it a thumbs up and I am excited to come back and try their bone-in Wings! They do have happy hour specials and I absolutely do recommend the fried zucchini! The outside Sitting area seems nice, but I think I'll wait until it cools down to visit out there! Overall, it was a nice experience and they may be doing something for the Justin Gaethje fight Celebration that will be coming up here this year! Stay tuned!

We ordered a combo appetizer, mostly breaded and fried, but I thought they were yummy. My favorites were the mushrooms and the cheese curds. Our meals came out shortly after we got the appetizer. Our server apologized for it, but I know she has no control over the kitchen. My shrimp meal was delicious. Six large shrimp, nicely seasoned. Their sides are all carb heavy, but the meals come with green beans, so they gave me double green beans instead of another side. My husband said his chicken tenders weren't very crispy. He also had a baked potato and the green beans. The restaurant had several tv's, including a large one on one end of the room. Tables were spaced apart.
