I love the cause and the food I would recommend their au jus and roast beef sandwich.

My husband and I stopped here for a quick lunch on our way to El Paso. Sandwiches were delicious. Had the French Dip with delicious homemade coleslaw. And my husband had the club. Great place to stop when In town. read more

Wow! . I took a bite into the Green chili chicken wrap and it was love at first bite. Everyone was very kind and accommodating while we waited for our to-go order. I can't wait to come back and try some other entrees. The dining area is fresh and has a welcoming atmosphere. Main Street Cafe you get five stars ! read more

Our Harley Owners Group is doing a month long poker run with courthouses, so Bobbie and I came to Safford to get our pictures with the courthouse. As it was lunch time, we chose to come to the Main Street Cafe as we'd been here before and loved what they do for an underutilized segment of the community. The food is good but not great as its mostly sandwiches and chips, but if I'm there again, I'll surely come back if for nothing else to support what they do. read more

This place is truly a gem. Great food, great service and when you eat here, you help learning disadvantaged people join in the community. The menu is pretty thorough, offering lunch oriented meals. You can even order "half sandwiches" . The portions are quite generous, so bring your appetite. Prices are generally in the $10 area, but you REALLY get your money's worth. Located on Main St. in Safford, it's easily accessible. Go. Enjoy. read more

We stopped here for a quick breakfast after staying at Roper Lake, and were pleasantly surprised by the amazing ambience. A friendly staff member let us know that the café is a nonprofit that employs individuals with disabilities -- such a meaningful mission! I was genuinely moved by that, and to top it off, the food was excellent. I HIGHLY recommend giving this place a visit and supporting their cause with a donation if you can. read more

Main Street Cafe - Holding hands at the table facing out the window - Cafes Near Me - Safford, Arizona

In my opinion, the best food in Safford. Quiet, clean, and I have great empathy for their business model, as it caters to special needs. The club is great, the Reuben is great, the breakfast is great. A ton of pepper in the biscuits n' gravy. read more

Wonderful service, great food and the mission is even better - I will definitely be stopping here when I'm driving though Safford I ordered the Rueben and it was massive! A great spot if you're looking for the classics. The location is right on Main Street and offers some good walking around after, if you're wanting to explore other local businesses in the small town of Safford. This town is growing on me each time I visit! read more

While visiting Safford, Six of us went for breakfast on a Friday morning during Lent; thus were in search of meatless options. The server was extremely accommodating and seven let us substitute other items like toast for the lack of meat. The price was great, too, so we were able to tip even more than we would have normally (20+%). Even with no meat on the breakfast plates, the meals were very delicious and d satisfying. I would definitely go again. read more

We were on a day trip from Tucson and lunchtime found us in Safford. Once again, you YELP users steered us properly with your 4.5 stars rating. We were feeling fairly hungry and each ordered their BLT sandwich. The lovely waitress suggested splitting it because they were pretty large, so we took her advice. Half of one of their sandwiches filled me up properly. VERY friendly atmosphere: time to chat and get to know about each other and about Safford. They told us about their great mission to train challenged people. read more

Love the concept of helping people with different abilities, delicious food, clean restaurant, very attentive staff.

We'll, I ate most of my breakfast. My wife didn't like the water and her food was under-cooked and greasy. They opened at 8;00. We asked if we could come in and sit @ 7:54. They said they were closed even though the door was unlocked. They seemed slow and disorganized. The place is clean and they are mostly friendly, even the special needs (Downs Syndrome?) Workers were friendly and helpful (got me more coffee). read more

Main Street Cafe - My plate - Cafes Near Me - Safford, Arizona

They have the best and Sweet employees and the best sandwiches!! my favorite place to go to on Mondays!

I have gotten the Greek salad twice, once with chicken, once without. Both were delicious. The berry vinaigrette is perfect with that salad! And I never would have thought to put fresh celery on a Greek salad, but I loved the crunch it added. Service can be slow. It's a small place with just a few women working. They also do wonderful service to the community and employee several young adults with Down Syndrome. They help teach these all too often ignored individuals important skills. Even if the food wasn't good, it's great to see a business care. But the food is good! I have only tried the salad thus far, but everything I have seen them bring to others looks wonderful. I plan on trying a sandwich next time. Though it might be hard to pass up the salad... Everyone is friendly and will greet you as soon as you walk in, even though you may have to wait for service. Update: had the roast beef sandwich for lunch today. It was great! I never would have put Dijon mustard and mayo and PepperJack cheese on roast beef, but clearly whoever came up with the combo was smarter than I... And the full size sandwich was big enough for 2 lunches, bonus leftover for the win! read more

Small town cafe.. Good food and polite service... Their cafe trains those with learning disabilities basic skills... That's an added bonus of eating here cuz you are helping them help others.... Awesome! The breakfast was just what we needed! read more

Wonderful local restaurant. I had the California wrap and spouse had the French dip. Both were delicious and came with chips and a cookie. Can't wait to go back and try more of the sandwiches. read more

Had another business meeting in Safford and arrived about 45 minutes too early, my team and I stopped at Main Street Cafe for some caffeine and munchies. I ordered my usual hot chocolate, but definitely was not expecting what I got. First, it was served in what looked like a reused flower pot (super cute!!). Next, it was topped with what tasted like REAL whipped cream. The thickness of this cream was perfect and the taste was delightful! Then the whipped cream was drizzled with chocolate sauce. By the time, I got through the whipped cream I realized that this wasn't the basic type of hot chocolate I've come to expect- water and hot cocoa mix, this was the REAL thing, too! It was truly decadent. The cashmere smoothness and rich intensity of flavor was a perfect continuation of my morning. read more

If in the area of this little gem, you should definitely go! The food was fantastic and the experience is heart warming! Breakfast was delicious and the employees are a delight! The owner / manager provides a work place / training center for a local nonprofit. We left with our stomachs and hearts brimming! Kudos! read more

The food here is similar to Panera if you've ever had it. The staff are very polite and patient, their menu is pretty big so I had trouble deciding. The decorations in there are beautiful, it's very quiet in the morning and relaxing. I don't drink coffee but based on their other items I'm sure it tastes good. I tried their pesto sandwich and it was delicious and so are their smoothies. Something I don't recommend is their potato salad, it's pretty sweet for my tastes, but maybe you'll like it if you try it. read more

Just fished the club sandwich and it tasted great! Servers were very friendly and attentive. My wife ordered the grilled chicken salad and it was delicious. read more

Umm, yeah a $5 lunch special! Fantastic service and delicious fresh brewed ice tea. We loved it here and felt that we became locals with just 1 visit. That's how welcoming they were to us. My husband's famous club was as decadent as advertised and here's a place that still gives you a pickle. Cute. Anyway, support this local gem! read more

We were on vacation and the words of my late grandfather echoed in my head. Find a spot that is local and not name brand. So we stopped here and man was I blown away. The food was amazing. We had the Greek and Cobb salad. We also had the southwest wrap. They came with a homemade cookie which was also amazing. The wait staff was very friendly and I would gladly stop there again. read more

Wow. Who would have expected such a great lunch place! Sandwiches and soup, cupcakes and attentive staff. I had the Pastrami, which was quite flavorful with the bread toasted perfectly, and the husbear had the Club. Very satisfied with the quality and flavor of our food. We split a coconut cream filled cupcake for dessert. Hope you get the opportunity to try it out. read more

Had lunch at the cafe while passing through town. Found on Yelp! This place is great. The Mexican place next door was packed, so we decided to give this empty little place our business. Lunch was delicious. Club sandwich fed 2 easily. Staff & servers were SO nice and attentive. They employ adults with special needs, and wow they were great. Oh and the cheesecake was amazing! Ps. Leave a good tip, they are split between all the sweet workers. If I'm ever randomly in Safford again, I'll be back!! read more

Went for lunch with a large group and even though there were other large groups, we we served quickly. The staff were attentive and wonderful! Food Was fresh and delicious! We will come back when back in town! Thank you! read more

Really nice place to have lunch. The crew is very welcoming. I would recommend this place to anyone.

It's rare anywhere in the US these days to find breakfast for $5 or under, so kudos to Main Street Cafe for keeping that dream alive. Here you can get eggs, sausage or bacon, and toast or a tortilla for a very good price. Adding a side of hash browns won't cost you much more. The food isn't particularly exciting and/or of the greatest quality, but it will fill you up without breaking your bank. The service is friendly and it seems like many a local spends all morning hanging here. read more

LOVE this place!! The coffee is delicious and fairly priced, the staff is so nice, and the shop itself is very cute. Well maintained, clean, and has lots of cute things to look at and buy. My new regular coffee place! read more

Great club sandwich. Comes with chips but hard to believe 1/2 ounce is a serving of chips!! Check any large bag of chips and a serving is one ounce!! Lance said the Reuben was especially good. Prefer coke to Pepsi so ordered water. Parking difficult at lunch time. read more

Good food, reasonable service. Menu is very limited, but I suppose that's why that are quick. The cafe is inviting, but very small, during peak lunch hour, take-out might be the only option. read more

I was passing through Safford on a business trip. I stopped here for lunch, and it was great! I had a half of a club sandwich, potato salad, pickle, & a cookie along with a iced tea for only $5. Outstanding food, great service and Cindy took the time to ask our names and welcome us to Safford. I had Colleen's Chicken Cream Cheese Croissant and it was fantastic. My husband Charlie had the BLT and it was loaded with bacon. Great place and nice people. We'll be back for sure. read more

I love this place for many reasons. One, they employ handicap children and they have so much fun working there! I work with a girl who is employed there, and she loves going to work in the happy environment they have! Two, THE BEST CUPCAKES!! Made fresh and they taste absolutely incredible. Three, they have very reasonable prices. Four, very fresh food all around. Definitely highly recommended! read more

We ordered the Ruben, BLT, and club sandwich. They came with a bag of chips and a dill pickle spear. The restaurant was clean and the food came fast. You have to go through the kitchen to get to the bathroom which was sort of weird. They have smoothies and a few dessert options if we go back. There is also a daily special menu that looked interesting. Overall not a bad option in Safford for a quick lunch. read more
