On our way back from Safford we at Megs's Place for breakfast. Fortunately they had stopped serving breakfast and I was able to try their green chile burro. The burro is huge and I didn't think I was going to be able to finish it. But it was so delicious that I ate it all. The green chile, flavorful, the cheese melt perfectly, and the tortilla was homemade which made the burro extra amazing. I also ordered fry bread with honey which also was delicious. The restaurant is really cute and has great decor. There's some pictures which explain the history. There is also a small gift shop. I would highly recommend making a stop at Meg's for some green chile burro or fry bread.

My first time at Meg's Place! Have driven by many times but never stopped until now. What an amazing place. Its in the middle of almost no where and yet its Huge. The restaurant was absolutely immaculate the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The cheeseburger and fries was fantastic and the Ice Tea delicious...and....the cinnamon rolls (To Go) were wonderful.

Wow this place does not disappoint! If you drive too fast you will roll right by but that would be a mistake! Lots of to-go items and fresh made food to grab on the go or to stay and enjoy. The menus has something to delight everyone palette! Ft Thomas is bringing it!

My husband and I have been to Meg's Place on two separate occasions now, and both times we were so impressed! We loved the fry bread we had our first time there, and everyone in our party raved about the breakfast burritos on our last visit- at which time I also tried their incredible cinnamon pecan roll! Whether you go for breakfast, lunch, or to grab a snack for the road, you will be happy with Meg's!

Thanks Waze for taking me on this route. It was getting late and I saw the sign so time to stop and get something to eat. The inside is supper clean and split with convenience gift store on one side and restaurant on the other. I loved the wood tables. So now the menu was great and I was excited to see the Indian tacos with green chilies. Well let me say that I move six months ago to kentucky and I have never been so happy to have real green chilie again. The taco was huge and delicious. And I will say the price was cheap compared to what you get. Everything was fresh. I did end up getting a plane one with honey and powder sugar to go along with a pecan cinnamon roll. Both were fantastic. It would be worth the toad trip to go and visit them.

We were moving my daughter home from EAC, and we HAD to stop here. This cafe is nothing you would expect to see and taste on a lonely road in rural Arizona. The inside decor is cozy and clean, and celebrates the local heritage and it's past. The food is something I would expect only to find in a gourmet kitchen (and for at least twice the price). I knew the baked goods are amazing, but I'd never tried anything from the cafe. Just as crazy good! I had the BLT. It's seriously the best one I've ever had. In addition, the fries were perfect and the fry bread was just right. I made the "mistake" of going to the bakery counter alone after lunch. I came back with a bag full of goodies. The cinnamon roll was lights out. Moist, gooey, and smothered in that famous frosting. I also loved the hot chocolate cupcake and the gingerbread (we came just before Christmas). Meg's Place is a national treasure and a must-do for every serious foodie road warrior. I will find a reason to come back.

You've got Forbes on one corner, Ugly But Honest Pizza on another, and Café Desta / 5 Points Market nearby, each are great for very different reasons. Chef Brian's absolutely belongs in that conversation. I came in with a friend who's spent a few years in the South and takes collard greens very seriously. To our surprise, the collards here are vegan and excellent. Great texture, deep flavor, and not an afterthought at all. Chef Brian told us it's something like a 20-hour process, which definitely shows. A quick heads-up: they do not have mustard, ketchup, ranch, or pickles. If those are must-haves for you, bring them along. Service was good, especially considering it was essentially a two-person operation. Chef Brian was upfront that things were running a bit long due to earlier guests, which we appreciated. We took the opportunity to grab a drink nearby and came back, no issue at all. The food was outstanding. We ordered the fried chicken dinner with fried potatoes and collard greens. The chicken was phenomenal: crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. I initially assumed a pickle brine, but Chef Brian explained it's actually the herbs he uses that give it that depth. Whatever the method, it works. Excellent food, honest service, and a smaller, no-frills space. Chef Brian is clearly an accomplished chef, with appearances on Top Chef and Bar Rescue, among others, but more importantly, he knows food and community. Definitely add this spot to your list.

Well, unfortunately, I only made it to the bathroom and I understand the restaurant is from 1966 and I love old things, however, this establishment was not a good fit for me. I happen to love old things; I love old Antiques, I love the old ways, I love old places , but when it comes to eating, I guess I'm a little on the picky side. Unfortunately, I didn't even make it to the booth or table because when I walked in, I walked right by a server who was sitting down at the counter which I was really excited about, I wanted to sit there because it reminded me of when my dad would take me out to the local Walgreens (or sandwich place) and we would get a little bite to eat and a sundae in a sundae glass!! Granted it is the lull of the day for a Saturday, but I was ignored and then I tried to get the attention of the guy behind the counter by walking straight past the server (whom I thought may have been off shift) but he also ignored me??? I'm not sure maybe he has a hearing impairment? I said, "excuse me " a couple of times and that's when the server Finally said she could help me. I have a sibling who is Deaf - I also know sign language so I'm not judging, I was just puzzled because I was completely ignored. It was very quiet by this time. The server who was sitting down on her phone maybe doing paperwork then turned to me to help. I asked if they were closed, thinking maybe I was too late since they were no hours posted on the door ? By this time, I had already driven over an hour or so to get here so a quick bathroom break was needed. I had seen another review that was positive online so I thought I would give it a try for a burger and some fries - pretty simple order. After going to the bathroom first and seeing the condition of the bathroom, I just decided it was not for me. I think I'm overly picky when it comes to restaurants, so I'm sure it's just me. For the first time, I decided not to take a chance and I'm seeking elsewhere to find a burger locally! I will say there were plenty of people that were here when I arrived, and they seemed happy, I just think I'm going to pass on this experience.

SENTRY - WATCHING RESTAURANTS…read more Judy's CookHouse 2280 E Hwy 60 Globe, AZ 85501 Companion and I were exploring mining towns and came across this restaurant. We stopped for lunch. On entering we found a thoroughly modern fast food restaurant. We were seated immediately and offered menus and drinks. Quick inspection revealed a quiet, clean place with waitresses ready to be of service. The menu was 3 pages long and had lots of favorites on it. It was nice to see a fair number of senior items listed. Companion ordered the bacon burger done medium. It was cooked perfectly and appeared to be homemade and about a third of a pound. It was graced with nicely cooked bacon strips, american cheese, lettuce, pickles, tomato, onion and BBQ sauce. It came with a nice side of creamy cole slaw. For myself, I ordered the green chile burger done rare. Unlike many other places they will cook the burger the way you like it and mine was cooked to perfection. Again, a nice big patty with jack cheese melting over it along with lettuce and tomato and a large green chile draped over it. This was one of the very best burgers I have ever been served. It was dripping down my hands and arms, but that is why there are sinks in bathrooms. An outstanding burger served with perfectly cooked onion rings and an extra side of cole slaw that I ordered. There were huge sweet rolls that were just put out on the counter, but I didn't have the room to eat one, and companion couldn't even finish the burger that was ordered. If I am ever back in that area again you can be sure I will stop there and order the same burger again. Service was fast and sanitation was excellent and spotlessly clean. My only regret is that we don't have any place even close to this in the Phoenix area. An outstanding lunch. 5 stars
