Hello Everyone, Jen & I traveled to Pima Az. To attend our grandson's advancement to High School, so after the program we decided to have Mexican Food, we've been here before but no reviews on my part so today was it. The place looks to have had a recent remodel as I don't remember it looking this way, any how the interior is very nice with a few nice murrows, we had to wait 15 min but expected that as it being Graduation night, we got seated and our waiter was very friendly and got our chips & salsa, we went ahead and ordered I had the beef taco with cheese enchilada & rice and beans, as a few of you may know I'm picky with my Spanish Rice, well, sorry to say the Spanish Rice was Awful, tasteless & Very Sticky, everything else was good, Jen had the Tostadas & beef taco plate and she was happy with her choice minus the Spanish Rice. read more

Decent Mexican restaurant - visited with colleagues while in the area for a client meeting. Favorites: - Chips (ask for the flour ones!) - queso - chunky salsa My pork chile burro was passable, and was served with a large salad. My colleagues seemed to enjoy their food. My husband and I had very differing views on our food here. I'd give them 3 stars, he'd give them 5. Everyone was super friendly and efficient. The space was great. The restaurant has lots of rooms and tables and is decorated in fun Mexican decor. I appreciated that they had a few menu items for someone eating low carb. I chose a bowl where I could customize it to fit my dietary needs. They made it sound like a huge bowl (13"), but most of it was a large rim. Still, it was a big salad. I chose shredded lettuce, cilantro lime cauliflower rice, grilled chicken, guacamole, and shredded cheddar. They only had two dressings and none of those were ranch, so I used the salsa that came with the complimentary chips as my dressing. Lots of lettuce, had to search hard for some cauliflower rice, very little chicken, some cheese, and a good scoop of delicious guacamole. Basically I felt like it was $17 for a big salad of iceberg lettuce. A disappointing meal. My husband, however, loved his meal..a crunchy taco, shredded beef enchilada, and a shredded chicken enchilada, along with rice and beans. He says his was all very flavorful. Don't know how this has only 3.8 stars. This is the best Mexican food on the planet. I live in Austin which has amazing food choices but I look forward to Casa Manana food every time I come back to visit my mom. The red chili burro enchilada style is a long time favorite but the green chili is amazing too. So many decades long favorites at this place! Give your taste buds a treat and eat here. Was in the area for work, came here for lunch. This place was packed! Had to circle around 4 or 5 times to get parking lol. They serve chips with salsa, they offered chunky, so I accepted and the chunky was really good! I ate it all lol. I ordered the craver combo and sun refried beans for pinto beans I believe.. the sauce they put on my enchiladas was a bit much, made my food really soggy. The cheese enchilada was good, the tortilla used for it didn't get too soggy but the chicken enchilada was just mush. I'm thinking it's the tortilla wasn't charred long enough to withstand all that sauce. But it was still good, I ended up eating all the protein inside instead. This place wasn't bad, there's so many people that come here, I'd come back and try something else next time I'm in town. The fountain dr. Pepper was really good. Not a bad price either! read more

This is the place! In business for 70+ years, they've got it down. Restaurant offers off street free parking. The building is self is meticulously maintain and spotlessly clean. We arrived mid afternoon and the place was hopping. Everyone was doing their part including the bus girl who made a comment about she helps however she can, and that's the kind of attitude I love to see in a business where everyone works as a team. The restaurant offers an extensive list of options that are special, traditional, unique, and just out of this world! We really did have a difficult time trying to figure out what we were going to get. Custom combo dishes allowed for us to sample a number of items that were just all exceptional. Their chunky salsa did not disappoint with just enough heat and a special order of flour chips that made for a unique combination. We also checked out there empanadas, which were so delicious with a picante sauce that was unique, lite, and flavorful. Our server was exceptionally pleasant and accommodate our request for a prolonged meal versus everything coming out too quickly. There is a full-service bar that offers beers and wonderful margaritas. Join the Kasa club and get flour chips for each visit. Membership includes free, birthday gift, one point for one dollar spend, free anniversary, gift, discounts and coupons, and a free appetizer for just signing up. Check out this cool option for regulars at this location. This a follow up Review for today's visit. We had a Birthday Lunch and a different experience. Our large group was seated promptly and immediately had an assigned server, Maleah. The flour chips and queso is fabulous. The service is beautiful. The ambiance is good. I read the reviews and had to try this place. We ordered the birria taco and the stuffed chili relleno. The Birria taco is very good but a little to spicy for me. The chili relleno is different from the normal I am used to but very good. My favorite is the flour chips and queso! Don't forget dessert! This is our first visit! We tried the 3 combo plate and it was soo satisfying! The crunchy taco was fried perfectly and it has a generous amount of cheese, the meat reminded me of the old times when my grandpa, dad and uncles would cook meat in the ground for days - full of flavor and juicy! Omgeeee, i know my daughter would eat a ton of them!!! I might even bring some back to her ! The spicy machaca burrito wasn't spicy at all. It has the same tenderness as in the preparation of the shredded beef taco meat, but you could clearly taste a slight sweetness and smokiness from the enchiladas style we ordered. I asked if the enchilada sauce was homemade and our kind server said yes. The beans were delicious, tasted fresh and creamy and the rice was well... it was ok ; I'm rice picky. We ordered the sour cream and guacamole on the side. I like that they give both flour and corn chips with 2 kinds of salsas! I loved the chunky (not hot) salsa, full of tomatoes and onions, they also offer a bottled salsa. The restaurant was pleasant, nice calming music, and just really a relaxing atmosphere with the same vibe by the staff. The busboys quickly bussed the table and everything was nice and clean. It was so calm I forgot to order my margarita! I like that there's plenty of hotels nearby, so maybe I'll walk over for that margarita or two after all !! Overall, we'd DEFINITELY return! I passed this one the way in, and knew it would be on the list. I grabbed the Taco Tuesday Deal. (Was not a fan of the full chicken strip in the chicken taco.) the ground beef as my favorite. Someone had recommended this to me that has been there before. We went in for a late afternoon lunch. The wait was minimal and the staff was friendly. It's a family style location so it was quiet and welcoming. Once we were seated we ordered and the server was very helpful in navigating to make the food and sides just how we wanted it. We ordered margaritas and they were tasty and strong. Definitely a place that we will come back to. read more

As I stated in one of my other posts about the Thatcher/Safford area, alot of the restaurants close fairly early so dinner requires some planning. Casa Manana is located on US-70 and Hwy 191 in the middle of Safford. When we first got in it was supposed to be 40 minute wait but turned out to be 5 mins. The staff was very friendly despite it being busy. The place was a home that was expanded to a restaurant. At the entry they do have a menu from 1952 (see photo) the prices from back in the day are hilarious. I posted 3 photos of the current menu. With the chips definitely take the salsa they offer as it is award winning (see photo). We got the chicken fajitas, quesadilla, spicy machaca burro, and fish tacos. All of which were great. One step above Taco Bell. I highly DO NOT recommend. This is not authentic Mexican food! Even a taco truck will give you bigger portions on your plate. They didn't even have green salsa. Everything was from a box or can from Costco or Walmart heated just enough and served on a hot plate that barely looks presentable... The waiter was nice but the lady at the front had a stinky dirty attitude so bad that you could smell it from across the street. Not one Hispanic person cooks or works there, no wonder the food is terrible. As for being the highest rated restaurant in Safford their food sucks, immensely. read more

We stopped in on our way through town, it was really yummy. The beef enchilada with red sauce was very good. My son tried a green chili pork burrito enchilada style and he loved it. It was huge and filling! My daughter tried a crispy beef taco and a fish taco and both were really good. All in all this is a solid Mexican option! read more

The service was the worst. I sent my tacos back as they were cold. I could easily see them sit for 10 minutes. The waiter was too busy talking to customers not in her section. I ate two out of three tacos before she served my wine. The food took a total of 50 minutes, 10 of those on the steel table waiting for pickup. Not sure of the issue - Casa Manana does not pay enough or does not want to hire enough help. My husband's enchiladas were warm and average at best. It was a struggle to give 3 stars. read more

We've heard amazing things about this place so excitedly we went during lunch time to take advantage of their lunch specials. My husband loved his chicken Caesar wrap and the portion size was huge. My plate on the other hand lacked flavor. All of it was pretty bland. Nothing stood out including the cheese enchilada which was lost in a whole bunch of sauce. The saving grace for me was the corn chips. They were delicious and they let us have two servings with pico de gallo. Also the decoration of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. We will come again to try the chimichanga though. Sounded like perfection. read more

Stopped here for pick up while driving through since the reviews were great. Not only was the food fantastic but the service was amazing on the phone and in person despite being incredibly busy for lunch. Refreshing to experience that these days at a restaurant. I got tacos with shredded beef, chicken, and machaca. Very good. My wife got an enchilada plate. That was very good. And my kids got the kids quesadilla. Highly recommended. read more

We didn't have the best experience but I would come here again if in the city, since it seems to be one of the better restaurant options in the area. I had the fish taco and really enjoyed it; I added a side of guacamole that was really delicious however we did notice it was just under $7 on our bill (seems steep). We did a combo. I wanted to try the spicey machacha- which we did burrito style and instead of much spice it had more salt (I do know it's naturally a salty dish but this was A TON of salt). The chicken cream enchilada thing just wasn't the style/taste we really liked but not bad. Chips and salsa were good but not great.. they have thicker chips if that's what you enjoy. *SKIP THE MARGARITA... unless you are prepared to add shots of their mystery tequila, just stick with beer. We stopped here for lunch on a day-long road trip through the area. We were not disappointed. Arriving around noon, the parking lot was nearly full - a good sign. Since we had our dog with us, we chose to sit outside, near the main entrance. Initially told (because of the lunchtime activity) we'd have to order food "to go," were pleasantly surprised when two servers brought us water, chips and salsa. A server then took our drink order - a standard margarita and a bottle of Pacifico beer - so it was now apparent that we were being served! We ordered a shredded chicken quesadilla and a bean burrito. More chips and salsa were also provided. The server was attentive and friendly. The food was plentiful and tasty. The bill was reasonable - $35 not including the tip. It was a beautiful day in Safford (sunny and 70°F) and we picked a good place for lunch. I would/will come back here again. FOOD: very good. I had the chimichanga burrito, enchilada style. Well made with delicious hunks of meat and good green sauce, though I had asked for red sauce. I like the chips as they give you both corn and flour. The salsa was tasty, thick and chunky. It also was hotter than I expected. The rice was disgusting, hard and dry with very little flavor. The beans on the other hand were bomb. Smooth and lardy, just like I like them. ESTABLISHMENT: The restaurant was very clean and decorated very cutely. It's a lot larger on the inside than it looks from the outside. The restaurant was half full on a Thursday evening, there was room for everyone without feeling crowded. The staff wear masks. The first fully professional restaurant we've encountered so far in Safford. Hostess and server were prompt, informative, and courteous. The rooms and tables were clean and attractive. The place was packed with locals, always a good sign. The menu had a surfeit of options that all looked tempting, it was hard to choose between them. We both settled on the machacha chimi, sauced differently. What got placed in front of us was huge, well over a foot long. I was a bit put off by the carbonized meat at the tips, but after ensuring it was only the tips, I let it pass (truth to tell, I do enjoy the crusty ends of meat cuts). The rice was clearly homemade, seasoned and sauced properly. The refried beans were smooth and tasty. Extra points for offering Coke, Pepsi *and* Mountain Dew, *including all the diet versions* -- so rare! There was no hunting down the server for refills, she was on the ball. We'll patronize these folks anytime we're in Safford. read more

This place had high ratings and very packed when I went in. But I was shocked when the food and drink came. Nothing was memorable. It reminded me of the first time I ever tried to make any of the dishes myself and didn't know what I was doing. This did not taste like good Mexican food to me and my margarita was the worst one I've ever had in my life. Sorry to say, I do NOT recommend it.
