I was riding East Sunday on my 2020 Harley RKSpecial Hwy 14 heading for Willard and Trout Lake wen I remembered Sunday was PRIME RIB at the Country Cafe in Lyle. I changed plans and arrived here at 1130. I had a prime rib sandwich here last year and it was absolutely the BEST. And today I had prime rib, eggs, hash browns & toast. BAMMMMMM. Absolutely the BEST I've EVAAAA eaten. Tender. Flavorful. Great staff. Put this on your HOT LIST. Nice clean bathrooms.

Terrible food and service. Wouldn't eat here again for sure. The prices were exorbitant as well.

First of all, the drive into the town was gorgeous and scenic. What a restaurant with a view! Easy parking and plenty of seating on the inside. Second, the staff were incredible. From the moment we walked in, the young lady taking our order was friendly, welcoming, and helpful with our questions as non-locals. Another co-worker was helpful in helping us to get seated and bringing out food/drinks. Wonderful service, thank you! Third, the food was AMAZING! Everything we ate was fresh, hearty, and so flavorful. We shared a cup of clam chowder and it was so creamy and delicious. My husband got the fish and chips with the Cajun seasoning and it was so scrumptious! And very filling! I got the smoked salmon po'boy and it was so decadent. I loved every bite and walked away stuffed! And, on top of it all, prices were so reasonable for such fresh fish and ingredients! If we are ever in the area again, we are going to be sure to stop by Brigham Fish Market. It is worth every minute of the drive, every dollar, and every bite! Thanks for an amazing lunch!

The food was SO good and filling, and honestly really affordable for how much food you're getting!! They had a great selection of beer and non alcoholic beer as well, which is a huge bonus when you don't drink alcohol but want a cold beer with yummy food. The ambience was also just chill/cosy. Not a big deal at all, but a simple sign to indicate that would be helpful. That being said, our server was very attentive and friendly the entire time. We ordered a variety of burgers, including a the Impossible Burger as I'm a vegetarian. It was great to see a vegetarian option on the menu as you never know in smaller towns. The food was well received, with the brisket and smoked mac n cheese being the major highlights. My family could not stop raving about how tender and flavorful the brisket was. My Impossible Burger was really good and although I try to avoid the processed meat alternatives, it was a good cheat meal. They have a few TVs inside, included a big screen TV that was playing the Sunday Night Football game. This would be a great spot to watch a sports game while grabbing a bite to eat or a beer/cider. The price point was reasonable as well. Definitely a spot to checkout if you are in the area.

My fiance planned a wonderful mountain getaway for us, and lucky for me- we had dinner reservations here. It was so chilly in December, We had a cold mountain day, and we bundled up to go to our dinner reservations and I have to say- I wasn't expecting much when I heard the name "Grill". I was thinking- burgers, fries, your typical post-ski grub. I was wrooong! We strolled into the coziest little restaurant and were greeted by the two lovely people working there. Felt like I very sweet family vibe. They steered us in the directions of the pasta dishes we ordered, and we had the Soup of the Day to start- I believe it was some kind of Tomato bisque and that hit the spot. The Hazelnut pasta was a hit for my fiance, and I loved that he got to try such a classic Oregon flavor in a pasta- how fun. My chanterelle ravioli filled me up so fast, I also loved being able to try chanterelles in this format. Both dishes felt very creative and full of so much Oregon pride! Delicious!

Prices are pretty high but we've found that the quality is consistently good, though this year felt a bit less. I enjoyed a patty melt with sweet potato fries. Kids grilled cheeses also were enjoyed. Hamburger was good, though I liked the patty melt more. The alfredo and cod were just average. For desert, I got the chocolate torte, which was a big letdown (especially since it cost $15!). I may decide to try a new place next year.

They only have large picnic tables to sit at so that wasn't real comfortable either. There aren't a lot of choices in Maupin so we continued with our order. We were sweating from the direct sun, blinded by how bright it was with no shade or respite from the sun, and now we were batting flies off of our food. It made for a pretty disappointing meal. We asked to be moved inside, which they were able to do eventually but it definitely made for a frustrating dining experience. Our drinks were not refilled without being asked and there was a decent delay in getting our food. Our food was decent. The star of the show was the desserts. The berry crumble and blueberry cheesecake was to die for.
