Let me start this by saying I am genuinely not a picky person. We arrived and were seated quite quickly. It took about 10 minutes to have our drink orders taken. One of the waitresses took our drink orders, and then about another 10 minutes later we received our drinks from another waitress. After giving us our drinks she asked us, "What do you want?". I began feeling very uncomfortable and we all felt rushed to give her our orders. I made a mistake with my order and she rudely corrected me. When she refilled my son's drink she pushed past him with a carafe and then shoved the carafe on the table in front of my other son. She then later asked if we needed refills in a very brusque manner. I don't know if anything I can say could really depict the horrible service we received. All told, we were there for approximately 55 minutes, and only received drinks. I spoke with the manager on the floor and stated that we would like to just pay for our drinks and leave. She had asked me previously if anything was wrong and I said, "No.". I did not want to cause any trouble. She then proceeded to get smart with me and ask me why I didn't tell her before. My suggestion is give it 20 minutes, if it doesn't get any better, leave cause it's not going to get any better. As you can see, we're not picky people we were there for almost an hour. Is it possible to put up a negative star rating? I'd give it a -2. That's a very generous rating. read more

Great traditional place. Great staff. Had the special, Maryland Crab Soup with a grilled Swiss Cheese and Corn Beef sandwich. Good stuff.

It was Friday night and my sister and I were starving but really wanted some down home cooking food. A guy at Home Depot recommended this place. It did not disappoint. My sister had the broiled flounder with sautéed squash and sweet potato fries. Best flounder she had and it was a good size. I had the Maryland crab cake with delicious homemade mac and cheese with white cheddar. Yum yum yum. Good prices and great service. You must eat here. The view of the lake was a bonus. read more

We enjoy eating in the mornings we stick to the breakfast and we never had a bad meal. We like to little country feel.

I've been here a few times, and each time I say never again. But due to lack of choices in the area, I have no other option. This place is very overpriced and under flavored. Ketchup comes in packets, with a side of a disgusting explanation as to why from the waitress, followed up with an incredibly rude hostess type person. But to end with a positive, the busers were very polite and helpful. Terrible! read more

Definately the best option in the area for breakfast. The sausage is perfect and doesn't hang around the whole day reminding you it's there. The home fries are the best thing on the menu and worth stopping in for! My kiddos love the orange cows, but what kid wouldn't love ice cream with breakfast!?! The lady who seats you is definately a downer. Try not to pay attention to her sour disposition. The servers are sweet and kind and usually there with everything you need. Arrived at early afternoon mid-week and were surprised to only see 3 other occupied tables. Once we sat down and waited and waited, did I say waited for a waitress, it was easy to understand why there were so few customers. Ordered hot sandwiches and of course waited and waited. Of course this wait gave us the opportunity to note the layers of dust on everything in the corners as well as a general grubbiness all round. Frankly I really wanted to leave but I was hungry. The food when it finally arrived was not worth the wait. Lousy service, questionable cleaning and under-average food = find another spot. read more

Had breakfast here Sunday morning after church. It was busy, but was able to get a table after a short 15 minute wait. Order was taken promptly and food came out as ordered. The bacon was cooked perfectly and pancakes were delicious. I would love to visit again and maybe get a seat with a view of the lake. read more

Stopped in for a light lunch. Waitress appeared right away to take drink orders--coffee which was excellent. Ordered chef salad and combo tuna chicken salad. Both presented well and tasty. I waited 45 minutes for an omelette that never arrived. In the meantime, the waitress refilled my (weak) coffee twice. She never said anything about when my food would come out. Two other tables waited just as long as me for their food. I left after 45 minutes. I figured that if I had to wait that long for my order, I wouldn't want to pay for it. While driving through the area and with the help of YELP reviews we stopped at the Countrie Eatery for breakfast. We were not disappointed. Atmosphere was nice, right on the lake. Food and service were excellent. We would defintely go back if ever in the area again. read more

Great home style breakfast. The best sausage gravy I've had from a restaurant and I consider myself a professional judge of sausage gravy. Friendly atmosphere...even to out-of-towners. Lunch and dinner options look great, with specials throughout the week. Definitely worth the trip! read more

My wife and I are visiting from out of state and decided to give this place a try for breakfast. I had the Eggs Benedict and she ordered an omelette, and both were excellent! Went there thinking that this would be a local place we could go to instead of IHOP and beat the crowds. I went with my husband and were seated immediately. Once seated we noticed everyone was white and over the age of 70. Which is odd as Dover is multi cultural due to the air force base. My husband said, I don't feel comfortable here. Just not good. Not at all. The staff was nice and even gave my son a toy, but this girl is a southern country girl and the food is just not country. You'd get more country at a Cracker Barrel. The food was mediocre, no flavor, very bland. I've been on the search for a good biscuits and gravy in town, so we tried this. Nope. I will just make it at home from now on. I will go to Waffle House or IHOP, or heck even McD's before you will catch me here again. The food to me was just gross and the place is very cramped feeling and the tables are too close together. We were the only people in the restaurant and they sat us in the very back where I had to try to navigate my two small children trough the tiny spaced tables. Carrying one of them in a carseat. Not fun. Chairs are hard wooden and rock back and forth, don't feel stable. I will never go back. It seemed expensive for what we actually ordered too. read more

The food is decent, but the management needs to get a clue. I have been here twice and both times I witnessed the manager yelling and screaming at employees in front of customers. I can only imagine how horribly she treats them behind closed doors. I won't be going back. My husband and I took his mother to dinner here last evening but will never go back. After being seated we waited 10 mins before someone came to take our drink order, then waited another 15 mins before it was delivered and it was not even busy (maybe 6 other people there). We ordered the Clam balls as an appetizer, hubby ordered Meat loaf, I ordered the Crab cakes and my mother in law the fish. The waitress asked if we would like our appetizers first...WTH? Yes we would. As we waited for our food someone started hammering on the floor in the kitchen right next to where we were sitting and after 5 mins I asked if they could stop as it was very loud and irritating. Waited 20 mins before they brought out the appetizers and they were horrible. Bland and swimming in grease. Finally our dinner arrived, my husband meat loaf was cold and the gravy had a layer of skin on it from sitting under a heat light. The Mac & Cheese was a sliced lump of cold jellied mush that he said did not taste remotely like Mac & Cheese. The Crab cakes where bland and I could not taste much crab and my baked potato was bad inside, it was sliced open and I saw the black inside right away so whoever cut it open should have noticed it too, We would have complained but our waitress disappeared and after sitting waiting for our bill I had to take my mother in law outside as the chair was hurting her (she is disabled). The chef needs to add salt & pepper when cooking and train the wait staff not to call their female guests "Miss" but instead use "Mam" Its ridiculous to have a 20 something call me and my elderly mother that. read more
