Counter Point Cafe is located inside the Diplomat. The spot is clean, inviting and convenient with great coffee. To be honest I wasn't expecting a great brew as I'm a bit of a coffee snob but the beans were smooth and not bitter. The customer service was friendly and my only gripe was the paper straws! My straw getting mushy and sticking to my lips isn't my favorite so I took the top off and gulped it like a cavewoman lol. read more

This cafe is inside of The Diplomat and the only one available. It looks really nice inside but I wasn't thrilled about their iced coffee (which was $6.42 for a medium). I thought this cafe would have better coffee than the one that was given throughout the day at the conference. It tastes exactly the same and is probably from there. It's bitter and tastes burnt--had to add milk to it which I typically do not prefer. The line is really long in the mornings and there's only one person working the register (however, the staffs are friendly). read more

Tried this place a couple times during my stay. It checks the boxes for breakfast or a mid day snack. Large selection of HUGE pastries and lite food options. Nothing crazy but food and drinks were decent. What made this almost 5 stars was the staff, they were amazing! So friendly and enjoyable to talk to. We stayed at the Diplomat hotel, and there's not a lot around as far as food choices within walking area. The Counter Point Café is a high-quality choice. Everything is prepared on site and well presented. We had breakfast and lunch there and enjoyed our choices, fresh and nicely prepared. What was especially nice was the team there, everyone very friendly, and there never seemed to be a long line which worked out very well. There was one person in particular that stood out, Dorothy was great! She handled a concern with grace on the spot and kindly welcomed me back the next morning. You could tell Dorothy and her team took pride in what they did. The culinary team outback also did an amazing job, they were proud of what they presented, and it was delicious! read more

Counter Point is a great spot to grab a bite in The Diplomat Beach Resort, but it won't be cheap. While staying at the resort B and I walked down to this spot one morning for breakfast, we each got a coffee and a breakfast sandwich, and our total was $30. The sandwiches were hot and tasty, and the coffee was ok, but I couldn't believe it was so expensive. I know it's in a nice resort, and you're on the beach, etc. But, $30 for two microwaved sandwiches and plain coffees is a bit much. I ordered an iced coffee, and it came without any sweetener. I like my coffee sweet, so when it was handed to me I asked if they had simple syrup. I was told a pump of syrup sugar would be $2.00, or I could use the packs of sugar located on a small counter behind me. C'mon.. you know regular sugar won't disolve well in iced coffee. I couldn't believe they wanted an additional $2.00 for a pump of syrup! That's just really too much. Overall, we did enjoy our meal, and the baked goods looked tasty, but based on the service and price I just can't give this spot a higher star rating. If you're looking for a breakfast spot on the cheap, this ain't it. read more

I stayed at the Diplomate resort and during check out the counter point cafe was the only thing opened that Sunday morning to pick up breakfast on the resort. I almost didn't order but couldn't wait to eat. I was pretty hungry. I ordered with caution because I saw the Yelp reviews before I went lol. However I had an extremely good experience. My phone died so I didn't get a chance to snap it up while I was there! The place was packed full of people. The line was long but it moved fairly fast. It was two people taking orders and about three more people assisting in getting orders out. I order the ham, egg and cheese sandwich on a croissant. The sandwich had been toasted in some type of grill. It was delicious! Nothing was cold. It took a while for it to come out but was worth the wait. I also ordered a glazed donut and one of the detox juice. I got the D4 juice. The glazed donut was good as well. It was less like crispy creme donuts and more like Dunkin' Donuts. It wasn't light and airy it was a little dense but good! The juice was also good and exceeded my expectations. The order cost me a little over $30. I would order the stuff I ordered again. I ordered to go but I also wouldn't mind dinning in next time. read more

I stopped in for lunch while I was attending a convention at the Diplomat Resort. My experience was pleasant and nothing out of the ordinary. The coffee and sandwich I got were both really good. The prices are high - but it's the Diplomat Resort, so what do you expect? Maybe I hit it at a good time, but I don't understand the lower reviews. The Cubano sandwich was incredibly tasty. I would eat here again if I found myself back at the hotel but it's not somewhere I'd go out of my way to visit. read more

Located in the lobby of The Diplomat Counter Point is a quick service option. Another creation from Food Network's Geoffrey Zakarian and I would consider a sister restaurant to Point Royal (literally it's next to it in the main lobby). I stopped in for a quick lunch in between spin class and a spa appointment. (There is literally so much to do at the new Diplomat). I picked up one of the fresh salads. It was with kale, quinoa, sweet potato and onions. At first I was weary about the onions but they were sauteed and seasoned so well, I really enjoyed the pairing! I felt the staff was pleasant there are also a few baked goods available and different drinks and coffees. There are a couple of tables there if you want to eat there but I say grab your food and head to the pool area for a nice view of Hollywood Beach! read more

I had read the reviews and set lower standards but my bagel cream cheese and pickled onions and greens breakfast sandwich was delicious. A colleague got the breakfast sandwich with bacon and she thought it was good. Their cold brew with its milk is illy brand, it's decent. Definitely stay away from their avocado toast as it is not fresh. It's from Costco. Service was excellent, the lady in the front takes pride in the work she does. read more

The small, simplistically decorated, cafe is conveniently located in the luxurious Diplomat Hotel. I wish my review could reflect my wonderful mood as I had spent my entire day sun bathing and enjoy the hotel's wonderful amenities- but the food was not up to par. The espresso was bitter and tasted nothing like the Cuban Bustelo that this Cuban/Miami Native is used to. The "Banana-nut muffin" was really a banana muffin with three walnuts sprinkled on top. The interior design, convenient location, and decent service was the basis for my generous two stars. read more

With a $30 credit for breakfast, I headed over to Counterpoint. I ordered the Green Verde Smoothie ($8), which was perfect. I also got the Greek yogurt parfait ($11) for my daughter, which was loaded with juicy berries on top. So far, so good. I picked up a bottled water for the pool (price not marked, but $4.50 ouch). I also got a medium cappuccino (no prices shown but must've been $6.50-another ouch.) Service wasn't bad, it was a simple counter transaction, though I noticed no smiles or actual show of friendliness by the counter staff. I didn't stick around to eat-in. I headed to the beach but learned that "convention guests" did not qualify for beach chairs so it would be $15. REALLY? There were hundreds of empty chairs. SO amazing!!!!! This coffee spot is near the north tower elevators in the lobby, and let me tell you guys, it was incredible. James & Brendan were amazing with the customer service!!!! HUGE shout out to them. They were so kind, so genuine and served us as people, not just customers. My friend and I tried the Organic Banana & Peanut Butter Smoothie (10/10!!!!) and the White Chocolate Iced Latte, both were incredible. But what made it the best experience was the customer service provided by James and Brendan. They are the best!!! read more

The first time I went to order a cappuccino, the lady behind the counter had such a nasty attitude and gave me a regular coffee instead. After much huffing and puffing she gave me what I had ordered. The day after that I needed a quick breakfast so I ordered a cappuccino, a chocolate croissant and an almond croissant. They gave me a latte, one almond croissant and a plain croissant instead. We stayed at The Diplomat visiting from Boston and loved this cafe! Freshly made muffins, scones, and sweet treats. They also make fresh juices and gourmet coffee. They have $5 chocolate donuts, but they look fresh and delicious! The space is bright and modern, with no outdoor seating. The service is OK. Since it hasn't been open very long workers seem a bit overwhelmed. I expect that to settle down over time.
