This appointment was for an oil change tire rotation a couple recalls and for them to figure out why the 2nd row passenger seat belt/seat sensor wasn't working properly. When the service was done there was mud tracked all down my driver side door seal, the tires had not been rotated at all because the drivers side ties had mud on them from my driveway and they were still in the same spot, what they don't know is I marked the tires to see if they would actually rotate them and they did not. Makes me wonder if they even changed the oil. I mentioned this to the service rep and he said oh yeah we did it we just moved them front to back, that is not how you rotate tires first off. As far as the mud I said is someone going to wipe that off, he goes and gets a wet paper towel and does one swipe. As far as the seatbelt buckle or seat sensor issue, I'm not sure what the problem is because he told me they couldn't replicate the problem I told them about which was the seat belt buckle or seat when someone is sitting in it and it's buckled doesn't register right and dings the entire time like the seatbelt isn't buckled when it is. I said well can you ride with me and sit in that seat so I can show you. The service rep rode with me and the seatbelt buckle/seat started acting up. It was then that he said oh ok now I see what it's doing. I had to do their job for them. I was told that there was a short in the buckle by a service writer not a tech. He claims that he ordered the buckle and I would receive a call when it comes in. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! The only reason I'll be going back is to get my seatbelt buckle fixed. If they ever call. This is twice now that I have had a horrible experience. Get new management or new employees. You're making Honda look bad.

Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. I would strongly caution anyone considering doing business with Coughlin Chevrolet to do their homework, ask detailed questions, and carefully review every document before signing anything. My sister goes & buys a car which not only body damage but the smart key isn't working. She has to manually unlock the car and the car does start but doesn't recognize the smart key. Smart keys are expensive especially for Acura so they promised to fix both. They took the car back and after week body is done but refuse to say when they will fix the key. When called in manager says he will ask owner (who he refused to mention he was related to) for loaner & call back which no call after 3 days. When we pick up car asked about key repair His only response is "when I have time I'm a busy man" this is from the OWNER. When asked for a loaner at least he refused. Wouldn't let us get a word in kicked us off the lot with no solution. Once you buy you are nothing to these people. Beware to thoroughly look at the car & make sure it works before signing because they will not tell you the issues. The manager even had the nerve to sound irritated when obvious body damage was pointed to him after car was sold. I wish there was an option for negative stars. They say they are accredited with the Better Business Bureau but they are not. This company held our registration title until we deleted our bad review. I am now reposting this. I am sure their actions violated Yelp rules & regulations.

However, it was going to need tires immediately, they didn't have the face to the radio that was installed, and the drivers mirror was shattered. So, he took $700.00 off. Turns out, he should have taken $5,000.00 off. I have owned this truck for less than 60 days and this is my out of pocket costs to date. New tires and alignment - $1,275.00 All 4 TPMS - $250.00 Complete front brake system - $1,200.00 Radio - $375.00 Left side mirror - $150.00 A/C (because it quit working less than 30 days in) $640.00 ($320.00 my out of pocket.) Transmission - $1,504.19 - Transfer case motor was bad and needed replaced. Total (with out transmission repairs yet) out of pocket cost thus far - $5,074.19. Again, this is ALL within less than 60 days. And, we still don't know what the cost of the transmission is going to be. The only positive thing is after the tires, radio, mirror, brakes, and TPMS I did call Mose Auto Sales when the air conditioning went out and he did SPLIT the A/C repairs, after I had to wait a week to get in to his mechanic he recommended. However, this is a 4 wheel drive truck, so the transmission is more than likely going to far exceed all the other repair costs thus far. This place clearly does not have a mechanical go through their vehicles they are selling to ensure their are selling the quality of vehicle they are telling you, you're getting. I fully understand that buying a used vehicle there is always the possibility of some problems. However this many problems that are this severe all in less than 60 days is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. This truck has been in for repairs far more than I have had it on the road driving it. I would not recommend buying any vehicles from this dealer. Which when on snapped going down the road at 55MPH it snapped a coolant line, and the Power Steering Air Control Switch. Cause, the serpentine belt was improperly installed. (most likely when HIS mechanic repaired the A/C.) So, a new serpentine belt, and new coolant hose and clamp, and the Power Steering Air control switch $194.09 in repairs today. Brings a total out of pocket expenses to date to, = $5,268.28. Purchased truck less than 90 days ago at this point. 09/12/2020 Edit - This weekends issue is the rear differential has developed a leak. After some some basic cleanup around the differential there has been an epoxy found on the bottom of the differential. After removing the gear oil and the epoxy there were 3 small hole about the size of a pin hole, and a 4th hole about the size of a ball point head pen tip. So, now the truck is on it's way back to the transmission shop on Monday because there is only one way to repair this correctly and that is a whole new rear end. This is more than likely going to start pushing $3,000.00 for this repair Update to come.

But there were 2 potentials here at Germain Mazda, and several more at Honda Marysville if Germain didnt work out. I met my son at the dealership and met with Alec who had our two choices ready for their test drive. He was personable and did not try to upsell us. Both cars were nice but the newer one clearly stood out. It was clean, loaded with stuff that were in my son's wish list and it had lower mileage. Description and pictures were accurate. Yes it had a tiny scratch that was repainted that you could barely see but I was looking for that. We had arrived before the dealership opened and all of their used cars were sparkling and ready for their new owner, we just wanted a Honda but we looked around just to kill time. Everything on the lot was clearly labeled. Buying the car took some time, not unreasonable, and we were offered tea, coffee and water. There were some strange questions related to financing that apparently Huntington Bank wanted answers like do you plan to transport a pet. Any kids riding in the car? We once again purchased the gap insurance. It is a really pretty car. I'm jealous. And Germain has been around FOREVER. And they filled up the tank. Our Son wanted me to have something new, my Ex wanted me to have something older, and I just couldn't find the right color. Rain again. Kris looked like he had been swimming when I told him to wait inside while the three of us over-talked each other. The vehicle I researched turn out to be too big for me. Our Son tried to convince me to get a different model and my Ex insisted that I would be happy with an older model. More rain. Kris was still so patient. Probably wishing he had taken the day off, but still so patient. When he pulled up with the car my Ex chose I nearly fell like the rain. The SUV was "cute", but it was red, the only color in the box of 64 that I do not like. My Ex assured me that I would like it if I looked closer, because it is not really red, it was "Soul" red. Poor Kris, with that frozen smile wondering if he should take the car back or give me more time to see the soul in the red. We had been there for an hour already. I walked up to the vehicle an something about the color drew me in. I wondered if my ex was right, but had he ever been? We took it for a drive. It was so different from my Sonata. Different but better. I decided that my ex was right. Of course I did not tell him, even though he already knew. When we finally drove off in my new vehicle, the three of us were happy, wet, and tired. Poor Kris was probably all three. He was so very patient, polite, understanding, and he even invited me to come back if I had any questions, concerns, or in need of anything else. I've since gone back three times, (by myself), and He was absolutely right. He is so knowledgeable and he makes sure that all of my questions are answered while keeping a smile on his face. He even smile when he saw that I was blinging my vehicle out with RED accessories.I tell everyone to go to Germain, and about the staff who probably clapped when the three of us left, because of our conversations going back an forward like a ping pong match, and our Son who seemed to walk away from us like he had PTSD. I had it repaired elsewhere and it was not the windshield. It was the ROOF. So, you wanted $250 more of my dollars to do what to the windshield? GM David Johnson, maybe you have a cooler head than Shawn Bell does. Or maybe the ownership group does? Byers, you had ONE CHANCE to make a good first impression with your service department. You failed. It took me 4 times trying to call your department, once even being transfered from another dealership, and STILL ending up on voicemail. I had to walk in to make an appointment. Here's where the crap gets better, but first, backstory... My sunroof opened and wouldn't close, likely due to a leak which was allowing a small amount of water directly through the roof panel above the rearview mirror. I manually closed it one time, then the bolt stripped, so I couldn't do it again. I bring it to you - BYERS - and tell you all the above details. I ask right then if you can simply close it. You, Bob, and your team say, no. Then you check it and quote me $2500! to repair the 2 motors that weren't working. I say no, then you come back and say, oh joy, you found used motors, and all it will be is $912. All... But you don't fix the leak, you tell me to see a glass repair shop. You don't replace the stripped bolt either. Within a week, the roof pops open again, YESTERDAY - so I bring it back. NOW you can close it. But you still can't fix the leak, you only put ONE motor in, and you tell me today, it would be $2000 to fix the motor, NOT the leak, NOT the bolt, just to put a motor in, which isn't even the REAL ISSUE! But you'll take the $2000 huh. But you're not done. See that puddle in the pic, there was no water in the car when I brought it to you. And you didn't care to check after you did whatever work you did if there was. You put my car by your dumpster. You didn't bring it around like you did after you got your money. In fact, you all - was it you Collin? - seemed irritated that I was irritated about your customer service and your professionalism. Here's what's going to happen. You're going to answer for what I said. Call me, you have my number, have someone with authority to make good on all this reach out. Or I'm not going to stop. Yes, I'm that mad. I thought you might finish strong, but my last encounter left me more pissed than I was already. Even if you make good with me, I'm never coming back there. I'll never say a good word about you. But you can at least say you made good. Those are your choices. If you choose to ignore me, I'll be forced to take other measures. If you had cared about those consequences, perhaps you wouldn't have given me my car back with a DAMN POND on the floorboards, after taking my $900 to only CLOSE THE ROOF. The car is in your lot, so to speak. UPDATE: Shawn called me Friday. He was pleasant and apologetic. But the resolution he and the GM came up with left a bad taste. They offered to clean the puddle in my car. They offered to do what they did not offer initially - fix the leak in the windshield - at cost to ME - or tape it shut. That was it. He mentioned that, "well, it was a lot of work to put the motor in," the implication being that they EARNED that $912, so I shouldn't expect it back in any form. Partner, you're only calling because of this review. But since you all care about money so badly, and not customer service or professionalism, and because I gave you a chance to make good and that was your attempt, let's try again. GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK. That you did the work on something that didn't fix the main problem is irrelevant to me when my car is the AMAZON RIVER upon return. Give it back, and I'll come here and tell everyone who reads such things that you did. That's what you get from me. I can take it elsewhere to have it cleaned, taped, fixed, whatever. You asked me to change this review: doubt this is what you had in mind.
