I traveled over two hours to get a vehicle from this dealer. BIG MISTAKE for not doing my thorough research prior. Not only did my auto loan end up being over $100 higher than my monthly budget, but it also took the full timeframe until my temporary tag expired, to get a "title memorandum" mailed to me which did me no good to transfer my title from Ohio to PA (original is required). I had to call the dealer over a dozen times for this issue along with unexpectedly finding out when I went to transfer my title, the incorrect sales tax was calculated by the dealer. The one lady I dealt with said "well, we are in Ohio, so we estimate the tax". Who estimates and does not ensure CORRECT sales tax on an item such as a vehicle??? What a stressor and big mess this is. I will never purchase a vehicle out of state again nor would I recommend this dealer to any customer. read more

I purchased my 2020 VW Tiguan from John Hinderer Volkswagen in October 2024--and from the start, the vehicle has been plagued with electrical and battery issues. I've now had to return this vehicle multiple times, losing days of work, interrupting my child's school schedule, and STILL--after months--my car is not functioning safely. It doesn't accelerate properly, which is a serious safety hazard. My 6-year-old son and I were nearly hit while turning into our own home because the car refused to pick up speed. I've reported this to service and all I've received in return is indifference, blame-shifting, and outright lies. The so-called "Carvenience" program they advertise? Never offered. No loaner car. No rental reimbursement. Just days without transportation and zero concern for the hardship caused. They've bounced me around from VW to Honda to Jeep service departments, acting like separate companies when it's all under the same ownership. It's disorganized and unprofessional. Not only have I had to find my own answers for a problem they should have handled, but I've now been told to take my car elsewhere entirely after they discovered a larger electrical draw. That's AFTER all the missed days, tows, jump starts, and stress. I wouldn't recommend this dealership to anyone--especially not families or single parents who can't afford to be ignored, lied to, or put in danger. I have had my 2019 Ram in there 2x and now going for a 3rd to fix leaking antifreeze. This truck has been leaking from day 1. The first time I brought it in they said there was no leak? The second time they found the leak . The radiator should have been changed under warranty but they stated they couldn't get one for a couple weeks. Then suddenly the truck stopped leaking. I am assuming they put stop leak in my truck with 35k in it instead of fixing the problem correctly. They didn't order the radiator or anything?!?! No follow up, just left it like that! read more

Said they fixed the relay switch on my 2018 Jeep pulled out of parking lot stopped and got gasoline and lo and behold the relay light is on after I paid $283.00 and still couldn't figure out the problem. Called said to bring it back In kept it for a day and a half mechanic said he thought it was the relay switch or maybe the auxiliary battery and that they would order me one, but they could not say when it would be there and now it's five months . Still waiting for a part for a part that service writer stated my vehicle needed. Haven't heard anything back from them. Tried reaching them several times. No one will answer the phone. Or to busy on personal phone calls. DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THEM. Staff is young and immature. I would give this business a zero if I could . read more

Purchased a new 2025 ram and when I got done signing all the papers. Thy only had one key fob to give me. They said "No problem we will order you one and send it to you. You can take it to your local dealer and have them program it and we'll pay for it." They sent me one I took to my local dealer I had to pay 115.29 out of pocket. I want to start off by saying I initial was mostly pleased with my experience, but then found that I was misled on a few things, but as the consumer, and the guy signing the papers I should have done better research and pay closed attention to a few items they slide in on the deal and by the time you notice its too late, one being Apex and the other being Pulse which totaled 1500 added to the deal, none of which can be refunded even if you cancel either service. I even asked the salesman and finance lady if they were subscription based, and if I could cancel any time, they both said yes, but failed to tell me I was being charged, not the costs. In fact the finance lady said if you done use or need them to cancel them. In typical sales fast speech the slid them in as I was quickly signing and did not show me the costs associated with them. I will fault myself for not paying better attention. But that being said that is not the reason for my post. I purchased a truck to tow daily and was told the truck I was buying would tow without a single issue. I even asked it there was anyway to take the truck home real fast to make sure before I bought it, which they denied. Once again I fell for the fast talking manager with great regret. The very next morning when I connected to my trailer I realized It was going to be an issue with severe squatting. The sales manager had said the a cheap set of air bags may be all I would need at most, because I was on a budget, and made it clear. I called several shops which informed me of how expensive it would be to properly fit the truck with air bags. I then reached out to the dealership to ask about a 3 day exchange policy I had seen on the web, which did not clarify which division of Hinderer honored it. A couple days later my salesman finally reached out to me and said he would get with his manager and see what they could do. I figured if they allowed it I knew I would loose my taxes paid, doc fees, and the bogus Apex and Pulse, and maybe a little on the truck seeing that I did have it for a couple of days. I was prepared to eat between 4-5k, but I had found a less expensive truck they had just gotten in that was 5k cheaper, so I figured it be close to a wash. Boy was I wrong this place wanted to take me to the cleaners, even after talking about how the appreciate, respect, and honor their customers for life. The deal they proposed to me, that was a 5k cheaper truck, not only cost me all my 16k of positive equity I applied to the 1st deal, the decided to nearly double the warranty costs for the same exact warranty, it went for 3200 to 5000 for the warranty, they decided that they would also cancel my warranty for me that the bank already funded and keep that $3200 as part of the deal, my payment for the same terms for a cheaper truck would jump between $160-200 a month. I have never in my 54yr felt so disrespected and attempted to be taken advantage of. This to me shows their true character and how they really feel about their customers. Seemingly in the end the lower priced truck by 5k was going to in the end cost me more than 15k additionally all because I drove the truck for 3 days. I may have put 300 miles on the truck at that point. I even changed the cabin filter on their "certified" truck that I was assured was gone thru from top to bottom. I took me telling them I had another dealership putting a deal together that blew theirs out of the water for them to come back and say "give us another say, we value you as a customer, let us see what we can do". No thank you, I will never buy another car from this dealership again, nor will I ever recommend them to anyone. I will be sure to tell people what they attempted. Service Department is way Over priced. For a heater core the doubled the price of the part. OEM says the part is 250.00, They charged me 569.00 for the part. On top of that, I was hit with an additional 1,900 labor charge. Make sure you see the quote before confirming any work you want done and ask for a breakdown of what is being charged. If you have issues, reach out to the service department director. His name is Jason. He is about the only good person to work with. read more

However, instead of taking care of me as a loyal customer, they decided to sell me a vehicle starting at $6,000 over sticker price. Be wary of the sales people here. They stole $1,000 from me. Here's the story: Bought a used truck and was outright lied to by Peyton that my car care plan (which I was highly pressured into buying at the time of purchase) was fully refundable if I decided I didn't want it within 30 days of purchase. I called back a few days after purchase and notified Peyton that I didn't want the plan, and he assured me the plan was cancelled and I would receive a $1,000 refund check in the mail for the purchase price. Months went on, and although I attempted to get in touch with Peyton on multiple occasions (as well as other managers) as to why my refund check still hadn't arrived, I never got any reply, and the John Hindered dealership pocketed the money (it's been 6 months). Couldn't even manage a "give me one second" or a "be right with you". I was inside for nearly 30 mins waiting to pay for a diagnostic service. My husband and I were very hopefully in buying a car with a trade-in and a down payment. We made a conditional offer which consisted of them fixing a rip in the leather and a hole in the back of the rear seat because metal was showing. Their fix to the ripped leather was mediocre at best. Any tension and it was giving way. The hole in the back seat was sprayed with texture spray rather than just an iron on patch. We decided to back out of the CONDITIONAL deal just to be told the deal was done (however the deal was in fact conditional and they did not have my car in their possession yet). After speaking with a main sales rep he agreed that the patch job was garbage. They told us our deposit would be sent back in 5-7 days. After not receiving within this time, we called back to check to see what the hold up was. We were transferred to a male, then the finance department where we were told they would call us back. After no phone call back, we called again a few days later. After being given the run around multiple times and speaking with multiple people someone called to let us know they cant send the whole check back because they had cashed it (prior to the deal being complete) and also paid my loan off through our bank (which was still in my possession ). According to the bank our loan was paid off the day after we had we had told them the deal was off. Throughout this whole ordeal Dennis has seemed to think it's funny and make jokes about how we don't understand how a multi-million dollar company works. The take away from this is PLEASE do NOT give these people your time or money. They've been nothing but malicious. We have yet to receive our money or the title to our car. read more

Hi, I am writing to let people know about the terrible service I recently received from John Hinderer Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. I have a 2015 Dodge Ram ProMaster 2500 utility van that I use for my business. I purchased the van brand new with less than 500 miles on it. It has been a great vehicle up until last year. Out of no where my van's rear brakes started squeaking but not a normal squeak. It isn't a continuous squeak rather it makes the noise as the tire rotates and only does it as the tire makes a revolution. I brought my vehicle in to have the brakes done and paid almost $2000 to have the brake pads, rotors, and calipers replaced. I thought this would have resolved the issue with the squeaking but did not. If anything it got worse. Being that it was the rear tires I thought it might be the E brake. So when I was going about 5 MPH I pulled on the E brake to see if this would do anything. To make matters worse my emergency brake had no tension on it whatsoever. I contacted them and they said to bring it back in. I did this and they said they took it apart and lubricated everything and it was OK. I got my van back and it was ok for a bit but started squeaking again. Again I tried the E brake and the squeaking would stop until you hit the regular brake and then the squeaking starts again. I'm no mechanic but something didn't seem right. I contacted them again and told them what was happening. This time I dealt with the service manager Nick. He assured me that they would get this resolved. I took it back in for the same thing again. This time I had to pay to have new rear brake cables installed, which Nick assured me should fix the problem. Nope no such luck. I am now out of pocket over $2500 to have work done and still the issue is still there. I took a video and emailed it to Kaitlyn at the service desk but no reply. I called them to discuss the matter and I get sent to random voicemails. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!! Find a different dealer for work!! To top it off I had them look at my left turn signal as it won't turn off by itself after turning. Nick himself said it was working. I bought an extended bumper to bumper warranty which should cover this but I took his word that it was working properly. Much to my dismay it is still doing the same thing. What a joke. read more

Hi ex employee here literally never get your vehicle serviced here. Even when I worked here I paid these dumb idiots to put on a brake line. I know I should have worried when they had to order a 6" brake line because they couldn't bend it themselves. Then when I go and take delivery of the vehicle they never did a proper bleed and I almost got in an accident. Because they only bled 1 of 2 bleeder screws per caliper, no one ever thought to rack the car and check the back of the caliper. I also know it was due to an improper bleed because when I took the vehicle home and bled them myself nothing but air came out of the rear passenger caliper (secondary screw)with the break in the in the line being in the front right. Oh did I forget to mention when they bled them the 1st time they only bled the front 2 calipers.Then tonight I had the pleasure of the brand new brake line they put in going bad because they never sealed it properly to my caliper. Thank God I now manage a mechanic shop with actually competent mechanics. They screwed up something as simple as a brake bleed. God knows what happens when they take on something complicated.
