I need to say thank you. This morning I woke up in tears because I was stranded in a town I've…read morenever visited, with a completely disabled vehicle, and was 17 hours from home. My husband and I had no idea what today was going to look like or if/when we'd make it home. I called Statefarm and they recommended I take my car to your shop. When we called we talked to Julie in the Collision Department and she went above and beyond to help us. She walked us through our options, spent a long time trying to find us an available rental car, and at one point was even planning to drive us herself to Hertz after she got off of work. Because of her, we were now on our way home in a rental car and are able to pick out vehicle up at a later time. She completely turned an awful day around for me. Her customer service is beyond anything I've experienced before and I owe her the world. Give this woman a raise, promotion, or whatever you can give her. She deserves it!

had a very frustrating experience with John Hinderer Honda when returning my leased vehicle…read more On March 3rd, I brought my lease in for return and specifically confirmed with the sales representative that I would receive equity from the vehicle and that there would be no restocking fee. We agreed on an amount, completed paperwork, and they took possession of my car that day. Weeks went by and I never received the check. When I called, multiple employees had no record of my vehicle or the money owed to me. Thankfully, I kept my paperwork. I eventually had to go into the dealership myself, where I again was met with confusion before finally being issued a check. The issues didn't stop there. A month later, Honda Finance billed me for a payment due March 15th--even though I returned the car on March 3rd. I later learned the dealership didn't report the vehicle as returned until March 30th. Because of their delay, I'm now dealing with billing issues that shouldn't exist. On top of that, I was later charged a restocking fee that I was explicitly told I would not owe. During a recorded 3-way call with Honda Finance, a dealership representative stated he would take care of the issue and asked where to send the payment. After the call ended, he contacted me directly and said he would not be paying it. I am now working with the BBB, the Ohio Attorney General, and Honda Corporate to resolve this situation. This dealership is extremely disorganized, lacks communication, and does not stand behind what they tell customers. I would not recommend doing business here

At the time of sale for my vehicle they stated the tint was legal in Ohio, but it was not. Ohio law…read moreprohibits car dealer vehicle sales with illegal tint, so they should have addressed this before selling the car. I requested reimbursement for the ticket I received as well as the replacement of the tint on the first and second row side windows, not the back windows. They refuse to reimburse the full amount because the second row windows in Ohio don't have any restrictions, same for the back window. I didn't agree to a purchase of a vehicle with mismatch tint, so I guess my next step if filing a lawsuit.

He offered to walk around the car and video it or take any additional pictures we wanted. That was unnecessary as there were many pictures on CarGurus, and we felt pretty confident as the dealership had a 5 star rating. We live in Kentucky and were visiting family in Pittsburgh area for Christmas, so the drive home made this stop barely out of our way. However, due to van problems with our current vehicle's tires we were later getting to the dealership. We kept in contact though, and Matthew was ready with the vehicle when we arrived. It was a beautiful 2018 Prius 4, and we were ready to buy. Unfortunately, my checkbook had been left at home in KY by mistake and, due to our tire mishap, we were too late to do a wire transfer from our bank. The finance guy was awesome, though I cannot remember his name, and worked something out with us to enable us to drive out with the vehicle that day! What above and beyond service! They were such a blessing and saved us another round trip of about 7 hours, if we had had to come back another day. So thankful! What a super company!

I traveled over two hours to get a vehicle from this dealer. BIG MISTAKE for not doing my thorough…read moreresearch prior. Not only did my auto loan end up being over $100 higher than my monthly budget, but it also took the full timeframe until my temporary tag expired, to get a "title memorandum" mailed to me which did me no good to transfer my title from Ohio to PA (original is required). I had to call the dealer over a dozen times for this issue along with unexpectedly finding out when I went to transfer my title, the incorrect sales tax was calculated by the dealer. The one lady I dealt with said "well, we are in Ohio, so we estimate the tax". Who estimates and does not ensure CORRECT sales tax on an item such as a vehicle??? What a stressor and big mess this is. I will never purchase a vehicle out of state again nor would I recommend this dealer to any customer.

IF I COULD GIVE A ZERO RATING I WOULD! RUN! RUN! RUN!…read moreDO NOT BUY YOUR VEHICLE FROM HERE. BUYER BEWARE. Unacceptable. Dangerous. Unresolved. I purchased my 2020 VW Tiguan from John Hinderer Volkswagen in October 2024--and from the start, the vehicle has been plagued with electrical and battery issues. I've now had to return this vehicle multiple times, losing days of work, interrupting my child's school schedule, and STILL--after months--my car is not functioning safely. It doesn't accelerate properly, which is a serious safety hazard. My 6-year-old son and I were nearly hit while turning into our own home because the car refused to pick up speed. I've reported this to service and all I've received in return is indifference, blame-shifting, and outright lies. The so-called "Carvenience" program they advertise? Never offered. No loaner car. No rental reimbursement. Just days without transportation and zero concern for the hardship caused. They've bounced me around from VW to Honda to Jeep service departments, acting like separate companies when it's all under the same ownership. It's disorganized and unprofessional. Not only have I had to find my own answers for a problem they should have handled, but I've now been told to take my car elsewhere entirely after they discovered a larger electrical draw. That's AFTER all the missed days, tows, jump starts, and stress. I wouldn't recommend this dealership to anyone--especially not families or single parents who can't afford to be ignored, lied to, or put in danger. The lack of accountability is staggering.

FALSE ADVERTISING AND BAIT AND SWITCH EMAILS! WATCH OUT!…read moreBelow is the whole email (it will not include the one picture that was in the email) that was sent to me by Nissan. It clearly states paying over market value and paying off your existing loan! NO DISCLAIMER IN THE EMAIL! I went into the dealership (I even bought this car from them last year) they tell me they will only give me about $20,000 for my car, (Kelley blue book is $22,000) when I still owe about $24,000. I didn't have time to fight with them that day so I left. I call back into Nissan and talk to Charlie, he says he knows nothing of the deal and has me forward him the email. He calls me back later that day and says well it should have a disclaimer on it, we don't make the emails..., I get emails like this from other places all the time and I just pass by them... he totally blew me off and didn't want to help me at all. Once I told him I was going to file a report against them he said he would talk to the owner. Three days later I have to call him back and he says well there should of been a disclaimer and Kevin Cramer (operations manager) will not give you the deal in your email! I made a phone calls to Coughlin Nissan and was put through to Pete in the sales department. I explained my dilemma and he asked me to submit an application online and they would see what they could do, he did not make any promises (unlike a competitor) but said they would put forth their best efforts. After about an hour he called and explained that they were still working on it but kept me in the loop and I decided to make the drive up to look at a few cars while I waited. I left figuring they were not going to have any luck and was just pulling into an oil change place to get the oil changed in my older car when he called and told me they had an approval and to come up at my pleasure. I told the oil change guys who had just popped my hood I was going to pass and went straight to Coughlin Nissan. The sales manager gave Pete two stock numbers of cars to view, and I went and looked at them. I was really wanting a car with more features than the ones they were showing me but the bank would not approve anymore money due to my credit history and the payment I wanted to stay with-in to be affordable to me. So between the two, I picked the color I wanted, took it for a drive and 45 minutes later after the paperwork and final approval on my trade I was driving off. They made the buying process easy, was able to get me financing at a rate I could afford and there was no pressure at all. I would buy from them again.

I am usually not very big on rating business. Let's face it, most people don't rate businesses…read moreunless there is a problem, but I will rate them at 5+ stars. I bought a Toyota Highlander from them at the end of May, around the time the Corvid lockdown was getting lifted. I also traded in my current car. It was a cash deal and the price was definitely below market. What happens next was totally out of the control of the business. 3 weeks after I got the car home the owner called about a problem with getting the new title due to issues with the previous owner, but they were working on fixing those issues but needed extra time due to the backlog at the state level from the lockdown. They gave me an option to return the car with all the miles I have added and get full refund as well as my trade-in or keep the car while they work on getting the new title. I kept the car while they worked on fixing the issue with the title and even got a call from Ohio highway patrol a couple of times giving me updates on the title. The owner of Moundbuilders overnight me a temporary tag when the original temporary tag was a week from expiring and when they finally got the title they overnight the title to me. They went over and beyond in explaining everything and went over and beyond in making sure I have a valid registration through the whole process. I will highly recommend them and they will be my 1st choice for my next car. Thank you so much for your help and for a great deal.
