She found three good options and arranged for test drives the following day. She was thorough in her description of each car and how it would be priced. She did not pressure me to choose a particular car. When I made my choice, she helped me through all the paperwork and made sure I understood my options. With her help and persistence, I found a car I liked within the required (short) time allotted and it was very close to my budgeted amount. I knew that my 2010 C60 volvo had several potential recalls on it so I brought the vin number to service to see if anyone in the history of this vehicle had ever bothered to resolve them. Turns out that the manager of service does not permit the service writers on his team to search for information of that type. The service writer stated that"99% of the dealerships for Volvo provide this kind of information on a routine basis, this is the only one I know where we cannot access it for our customers. Worst Dealership & GM Ever! David Johnson as General Manager needs fired. Out of a total of 10 emails, 1 of which was just the generic follow up after buying which I brought issues up in my follow up email, David replied back 3 times! 2 of the times was to tell me he was going to "investigate" my issues and never got back to me. The other was to tell me my car was finally ready after I believe the 4th time in the shop, after they finally had it towed to another shop to be fixed properly, and that my sister had been communicating with the service manager Tim, who was hands down extraordinarily too good to be working at this rip off of a car dealership. I work 7-7, 6 days a week so my mom and sister had to continually take the car back and forth for me. We had nothing but issues since the day we bought the car with Ralph Marcum lying to us about the interest rate 2 times while waiting over an hour for the finance manager (there's always a wait no issue there), when he knew we were getting screwed because he lied both times asked and said "well even if it's not a favorable rate you can refinance after 1 year." You can refinance IMMEDIATELY. They didn't even put gas in the car which was addressed with their joke of a manager David Johnson who cared less and didn't even follow up from the thank you from purchasing email. I'm 19 with a credit score of I believe it was 767 at the time of purchase and after the long wait for finance I was exhausted after working and the wait and forgot to ask the 3rd time to the finance manager, 100% on me, but they gave me an interest rate of 16.98%! I was side tracked by all the service packages and talk about how they were already closed as they close at 6pm regardless of the day of the week, so was rushing through paperwork. I take full responsibility of the interest rate and signing those papers. I started the refinance the very next day with Kemba vs Huntington and my new interest rate is 8.49%, still not the greatest but with inflation they more than cut my interest rate in half from these low life greedy people. When I contacted Kemba to refinance it they asked me if Byers told me Kemba was a preferred finance partner with them. I laughed and said of course they didn't because then they wouldn't have made as much money off the interest rate! Within the first 2 weeks we started having issues with the car. Was in the shop 4x I believe. Ended up me paying 2x to have it towed and once they paid to have it towed to another dealership to actually be fixed once I got it to them of course. I was only offered a rental car 1 time in the I believe 4 times it was in the shop! The only time I was ever offered one of course I took it as I was rotating cars with my family and someone was going without every time it was in the shop. Tim in the shop is the ONLY reason they even deserve 1 star. He was amazing. David Johnson the General Manager could give a crap (putting it nicely) less about ANY customer or how they get screwed over! The 3 times prior to it getting fixed by another shop, which btw was because of a lose hose, I emailed David every single time because I would pick it up right before closing or send over my mom & sister depending on if I could get off work early enough to make it there by 6pm, but it would have issues that same night on the way home or the very next morning and have to go immediately back to the shop the next day after picking it up. The last time it was taken there when they towed it someplace else to actually be fixed I was late for work again no response from David, but Tim actually cared and said he'd address it to David which my mom said she laughed and said David doesn't give a crap (not the word she used!). I lost my spiff at work of a little over $4 an hour for the entire work week because stupid me thought of I'll actually try to drive my car to work after getting it out of the shop for the 3rd time in a week and a half or so thinking I wouldn't have issues. I purchased a vehicle from Byers on 11/17/21. The vehicle had 45K miles and on 1/4/22 I had to have the car towed off the side of 270, and was told by a reputable shop that I will need a total clutch replacement. The repairs to make the car drivable will cost 1/3 what I paid for the vehicle. After reaching out to Byers through every possible avenue, they have not offered any assistance. Not even to inspect the car which is at a shop just 1 mile away. Absolutely horrible customer service. This is the third car I have purchased from the Byers group. I referred my mother-in-law to this dealership who bought a new Subaru, and my brother and sister-in-law purchased their vehicle from Byers per my recommendation. Byers will not only be losing me as a customer, but they will also be losing a family, and probably the business of the 100 or so co-workers that have watched me be forced to Uber and catch rides to and from work. Dustin is a professional, no pressure salesperson who knows the Volvo product inside and out. Came here to buy a used car (2016 Corolla). Found a great deal online and was met by Thomas Ford upon coming here. He was friendly, personable, and made me feel so comfortable during the whole process from test drive to driving off the lot. His attention to detail and going above and beyond for me made me feel important and valued. He even taught me what to listen for when test driving cars and he really wanted to do anything possible to make it a wonderful buying experience. However, the finance manager we met with (I believe his name was Dave?) did not provide the same experience. I understand we ended up making him stay past the hours of operation (although Tom didn't seem to mind much) but his interaction with us was less than ideal. He seemed irritated at us once we declined to buy insurance saying, "well, you were the ones discussing it so..." because before he approached us, Tom was discussing some of their warranties to us. He was moving through the process so quickly that we were getting confused and couldn't keep up but he seemed to get annoyed with us easily, even when we were asking clarifying questions. It felt like he was just trying to get us out of there as quickly as possible. But I do want to note I still gave 4 stars since he was the only employee we had a bad experience with. Everyone else we talked to or passed by us was more than pleasant and they engaged in conversation with us and really made us feel valued and comfortable there so I want to thank them for that. read more

We were looking to sell a very well kept luxury vehicle we bought new in 2013. I had filled out the KBB price thing just to see what they would offer. The KBB price was lower than a couple other dealerships I had previously gotten quoted from. However, Byers acquisition guy called me up and asked me to come in--said they could likely do a little higher than the KBB quote. They're only 10 minutes down the road so I stopped in. We didn't sell it to them that day. We did come back about two weeks later. I called him before we came in to make sure the offer was still good and to get an idea on how long it would take. He told us it would take 20 minutes tops. We were there well over an hour. Another added bonus...because we had a payoff, we wouldn't actually get our proceeds over or payoff that day. Instead, he explains to us that the way they do it is they pay off our lender, then once they receive the title, they give us our proceeds...likely 2-3 weeks later. We were not selling it to get cash in hand that day anyways. Still, this wasn't at all how it was explained to us when we were told how easy the sale would be--just 20 minutes and you're good to go. Byers Volvo is a big rip off !! They state a 30 point inspection to make sure the car is good. Well that is a joke, they do an inspection to tell them what is wrong, but don't repair anything. Make sure you see the inspection sheet before you buy !! I didn't (my fault) and the brakes were at 4 mm and needed replaced. I want back after I had the car 3 days. First off let me say I have grown to enjoy my car. Initially it was aftermarket lowered and just terrible to drive around columbus. Had I known this on my test drive i may have reconsidered. I'm going to focus most of this review on the mind beatingly poor service of the service department. When I bought the car the check engine light was on and the keyless entry wasn't functioning (I should have known better) they told me it would be about an hour wait. 3 hours later I'm still watching hgtv in their waiting room. Fast forward 1 year engine light is still on and I am in need of a oil change so I figure ill give them another chance. Take my car in, get a call the next day saying I'm going to need to replace axle seals. Totally fine but I'm to leave on a business trip the coming weekend (mind you this is Monday I took the car in). They tell me it will surely be done in time. LIES!lol they order the wrong seals and arent going to be able to finish until Saturday. I have to get a crappy enterprise rental shaking me down like $300. I figure ill worry about the car once I get home. Once back in town I find my car is done and had a nice bath. Looks sharp I think to myself. I go in to talk to the knuckleheads in service and ask to speak with the manager who must be some sort of leprechaun as I seem to just miss them every time. I merely wanted a little compensation for having to flop over cash for that rental. They say they ever so sorry and will be in touch. Its now 5 days later still no call still no compensation. I finally took the plunge, got rid of my junker, and bought very nice used car from Byers. I had a great experience! We found the car on the internet, and asked for more info. The internet sales rep, Eric S, contacted us in about a day and gave us more information. He wasn't pushy, just informative, and I appreciated him taking the time to contact us. He was our salesperson from start to finish - none of those bait and switch tactics here. I felt he was honest and upfront showing us the features of the car, and I liked that we could test drive by ourselves; have a little privacy to discuss the pros and cons. Also, no weirdness when we asked to see the title history reports. I wouldn't call the sales process 'high pressure', but we did have to haggle. Personally I like playing that game for a bit. Ended up with a very reasonable price and good trade-in value for my old shark car. I feel confident that I got a fair price. We finalized the deal and then came back in the morning to pick it up. It was sparkling clean, with a full tank of gas. Even rolled out a "red carpet" of sorts when we got in it, and took our picture. Kind of cheesy, but kind of sweet too. Let me start by saying that this dealership is extremely hard to shop. The layout of the lot is very small and cramped. I stopped by to look for a used vehicle for a family member and was shocked that there are no prices on any of the vehicles. This makes it very difficult to shop. Also when the sales person came out they were clueless about the prices without running back inside to look up each car. This is very frustrating and takes way too much time. The cars we all locked as well making it hard once more to decide if I was interested in a particular car. When I asked sales why they were all locked they said it was for security purposes. The lot has multiple sales people and customers on the lot so I would think it would be safe to leave the cars unlocked so people can look at the interiors. Sales people were also not very knowledgeable. This was a chance for Byers to earn a customer and they failed miserably. Ended up leaving and buying a car from another dealership. Won't be back to Byers Volvo, EVER! read more

The Sales Manager was horrible. The sales person (Courtney) was awesome, even the finance guy was awesome (he want to touch base on extended warranties and finish the paperwork). After buying my Passat, the plan was to return with my wife to upgrade our SUV. NOT GOING HAPPEN!! After negotiating the price for the Passat, I was told I could not use any outside financing. I decided to purchase the vehicle with cash instead of using their financing. First I was told I could not use my card and I had to get a cashiers check, no problem. But for the first time in over 30 years of buying cars, no handshake or congrats nothing from the sales manager, even though he walked pass us several times. NEXT, the car was supposed to be ready for pick up the next day by noon, then I got a text stating closer to 3pm. Then I was told closer to 5pm. That was terrible for me since I was leaving to go out of town. I had requested for the tank to be full. Courtney said it would be. When I arrived just at before 6 pm to pick up my fully paid for vehicle, it had slightly more than a 1/4 tank of gas!! The next day I received a text from Courtney the sales person stating that the MANAGER said only 1/2 tank of gas. It wasn't even close to a half tank of gas lol. That lack of professionalism is easily the worst experience I ever had buying a car. ONE person ruined my buying experience when everyone else was fantastic! read more

Took my Volvo in for a simple light bulb replacement. They broke a seal when changing bulb. On my fourth trip back, met with the General Manager, Dave Johnson, and the service manager Tom Beard so they both could tell me it is just a coincidence it happened the second i brought it there. I've been lied to, deceived and made promises that were all broken. The service department seems to be unorganized and without integrity.... I called and made an appointment last week. I explained on the phone that my car was part of my income and that needed it back the same day. "It shouldn't be a problem" Robert said.so I brought it in at 730 am yesterday. The service associate, called last night and said. "We won't finish it today. I'll call you in the morning" the morning came and went and no call... I drove to Byers. Robert said , my tech should be back in an hour, the car is finished. I came back an hour later and Robert said "the tech just had a baby and is opening his box now, it should be another hour" I waited about a half hour, them Robert called me inside the garage where the tech showed me all the issues with my car. Oddly there was oil all over the engine. I had just looked at the engine a day or two ago. This was in 2011. I thought id posted it. read more
