Apparently, my car was already winter ready and my car really only need an oil and air filter change. The total was completely reasonable and they didn't try to sell me any extras. I tried calling at 4:30 and was on hold for over 20 minutes. I finally got a text at 5:00 stating my car was done. I spoke with Denise at checkout and told her the wait was not acceptable. She explained that they had 15 cars towed in that day along with all of the appointments. Uggh. She offered me a discount for my next service. Great value with the coupon. The car stopped starting all together, so we had it towed here. Being a AAA member, I had sole trust they could diagnose a pretty simple problem and resolve it relatively cheaply. Their diagnosis was it was a bad battery. When they called to let us know, I explained that was likely the least possible scenario. Surely they checked the starter? Anyway, they charged me over $100 to pay for a diagnostic fee, to tell me the battery was bad - a free service at any auto parts store and also on a brand new battery. I had no choice but to pay because it was a weekend, and was closing soon, and I needed to get it towed to a different shop to get the starter replaced. I called the service manager to explain, and ask they refund the diagnostic fee since it was wrong and poorly diagnosed. He was too busy to talk and said he would call back. Still waiting for that call. I don't think they intentionally tried to take advantage of me, but that was a pretty incompetent diagnosis of a car that wouldn't start and will not rely on them again.
