To me, there is something funny about saying that I'm going to the Cotton Patch. At first, I thought the place was going to be super lame. I don't know why. Maybe it's the cheap looking pink lettering with the name. Or the fact that they are usually in strip malls. Then again, everything lately is in a strip mall. But, despite all my outward judgements, I really have enjoyed the CP. The food is decent, the service is decent, and I get a full belly. Once finished, I can waddle myself over to Target for shopping. I've noticed a lot of CP's around Target. I think this is a scam. I don't know what kind of scam, but nevertheless. The Cotton Patch is a chain, is like a Chili's or a Denny's... but that doesn't mean it doesn't deserve 4 stars. Or to be reviewed. Great place for a burger or a yummy salad. I like it. Service was extremely slow and food was over cooked. The grilled cheese was less than desirable and the fries were cold and soggy. The place had two other families there so I'm not sure why the service was the way it was. Will not be back to this location again. read more

This has been our group's weekly get together spot for a long time. The staff are extremely friendly and the food is wonderful. The value, quality of the food, the friendly staff makes this a wonderful experience. The food whether seafood, Bar-B-Que, or southern has always been made with fresh and well prepared ingredients. This is the spot if you're craving country cooking like catfish, chicken fried steak, or fried ocra. They also have a text mex part of menu. I had the salmon Caesar salad. I had the salmon tonight with sides of rice and steamed broccoli. Honestly this was the best, most perfectly cooked piece of salmon I have ever eaten. It was moist, flavorful, and had a perfect smoky char on the outside. I could have eaten 5 more of them. The broccoli was simply steamed broccoli and good. The rice was a little bland. When we walked in it seemed like the entire staff was at the front - it was very awkward. The chips we were served had grease dripping off of them. and we found a hair in the queso... we were given new chips and the queso was taken off our bill.. the waitress we had was wonderful!!! Ordered the Bacon Cheese Fries for the appetizer. They were delicious as you would guess by the name. The Baja Fish Tacos & Fish & Chips Basket were brought to my table for my wife & I. The fish was over cooked & saturated in oil which soaked into the fries on the Fish & Chip Basket. The tortillas for the Baja Fish Tacos were hard & the fish was dried out as if it were the left overs from another meal. The waiter caught on that I didn't enjoy the meal & sent a manager to my table. She was very apologetic & comped the meal. This location can do better, they just need a new cook! read more

I just went here tonight actually. The place is quite small for it being a chain restaurant. It was my second time going to a Cotton Patch, and my first time was terrible. I decided to give it another go because my boyfriend wanted to eat here. The staff was quite friendly, and we were seated fast. It was probably because we came like an hour before closing but that's still pretty good. Overall, I would say the place is mostly clean, family friendly, and a small restaurant. They had lunch specials and everything was 8 dollars and under, but it ends at 3pm I believe. They also had like daily specials also; Monday's were $8 chicken fried steak/chicken as an example. For food, we decided to order queso and salsa with chips for our appetizer, that was around $5. I ordered a sweet tea and my boyfriend ordered just water. We ordered a chicken tenders plate for $8.99 and a chicken fried chicken plate for 10.99. Each came with 2 sides, and we both got mac and cheese for one side, french fries for the tenders plate and broccoli and rice casserole for the other. The food didn't take too long to arrive which was good. The taste wasn't too bad like my first experience. The queso, salsa, and chips were good. The tenders weren't too bad, they tasted average, nothing too special and decently sized. The fries didn't taste like store bought fries and the mac and cheese was too liquid-y. It was definitely the worse part of the plate. The chicken fried chicken plate definitely wasn't worth $11. The chicken tasted like fried chicken from KFC and not like how chicken fried chicken is suppose to taste in my opinion, but the chicken was juicy and not dry. It was bland though, and the broccoli rice casserole was my favorite part of the dish. TL;DR: Like any other chain restaurant, staff was friendly, place was small and food was alright. I'd recommend the sweet tea if you don't like overly sweet teas, and the broccoli rice casserole as a side! Would I come back? Probably not, but we'll see. read more

I surprised myself and really liked this place. I guess I had some preconceived notions because of the name of the restaurant, but the food is very good and so is the service. We've actually been to this place several times and tried several different entrees. The fish plates we tried are good and fresh and so are the steaks. We especially liked the fried pickles. The restaurant has a pleasant, quiet atmosphere (no tv) and is clean and well-serviced by friendly waitstaff. The cost is very reasonable. Recommend. read more

Ate here for lunch. The food was very mediocre. The mac & cheese either used powdered or processed cheese. The baked squash tasted good but had a mushy, unappealing appearance. The fried okra was ate a good temp. and had a good crunchy quality. I wanted to have the black eyed peas but as a vegetarian I could not eat them when the server informed me they were prepared with bacon; fyi, vegetarians stay away from the rice too as it is prepared with chicken broth. read more

We eat here a lot. The managers are nice and we always go when our favorite waiter Julio is working. They have a lot of different choices on the menu. I tend to always stick to the vegetable plate but my son has eaten everything from Cobb salad to a burger. read more

We have frequented this Cotton Patch since it opened. We have had many great experiences here, but we got here tonight and two of our favorites from the menu are gone. We were told that the pot roast was removed because they were "trying to make this a nicer eating establishment." Feel that I have to let you and others know about our experience last night. Had the worst food in my life last night. I was excited to get your special turkey and dressing ( my favorite ). Well not anymore. Your turkey was so dry the dressing was so gummy and the mashed potatoes being dry also needed the gravy on them. Wish I had enough but no I didn't. My sister ordered chicken fried steak. It was huge eyes deceived us as she cut into it to find it is was mostely fried batter covering a small steak. Another disappointment. Just finished dinner here. What an awesome place ! I had the tortellia soup along with grilled pork chops, steamed veggies with an additional side of black eye peas. First and last visit! Party of 8 and this is where my granddaughter picked to celebrate 1st communion. Given a wait time of 35 minuets. At 45, we saw several 4 seat tables empty but were told "we dont push together" and we only have 1 table to seat 8. The people at that table were seated just before while we were waiting. This is my first time at this location and my last. First , today is Veteran's Day and one would think that the host or waitress would ask or acknowledge Veterans. There were so many Vietnam Veterans that came in with their hats and the hostess didn't acknowledge them. My husband is a Veteran of 15 years in the Army. We placed our order and our waitress Cassandra never came back again until it was time to pay for the bill. I ordered the shrimp and asked another waitress if she could get me some tartar sauce and cornbread well you guessed it she never came back. I decided to wait until I got home to finish my meal since we were being ignored. We paid the bill and my husband showed our waitress proof of his service in the military and of course with no surprise she still didn't acknowledge my husband. When we were leaving the restaurant we decided to thank other veterans for their service. I didn't make a big deal about it in the restaurant because I wanted my husband to enjoy his meal but I will never step foot inside this location again. Veterans deserve respect. We've eaten here for years and enjoy the variety and freshness of their comfort food. But recently we've noticed the service is slipping. Once it appeared they were short staffed so we cut them some slack. Tonight didn't seem terribly busy. There were open seats and we were seated right away. But it took forever to get our check. We had a mobile (email) coupon, which meant we had to fill out a form to use it. (Only place I've encountered this) OK, so I filled out the form then once the waiter came back, he had to get someone else to ring it up. Then he came back with the check, when we immediately gave him our credit card to speed things up. Then we had to wait for him to ring it up. I can't necessarily fault the waiter; he was apologetic about the delays. It just seemed like the first two steps slowed things down. Then we discovered our coupon, an Anniversary coupon, was applied to our cheapest entree, not the $12.99 entree. Not really surprised, but disappointed, because nowhere on the coupon did it say it would be applied to the cheapest entree. At that point, we were just ready to get out of there. We enjoy the food, and seemed to go about once a week or two. But I think we'll take a break for a while. read more
