I love coming here for comfort food. We always order a steak or the Cajun duo. The chicken and dumplings are the best. Customer service is usually good, but we'll occasionally get a waitress/waiter that barely would comes around to check on us. Yes, it's horrible when our appetizer or soup/salad comes out the same time as our main entree. I've even witnessed the waitress forgetting our food and watching her go back to get it, after she gave the table that came after us their food first...lol But we're all human and make mistakes right. read more

Not very good. Went during $6 chicken strip all week promotion, so that's what everyone at the table had (5 people). Apparently they had run out of rolls and were making more, which only made the wait feel that much longer. They only brought out rolls when the entrees also came out. Every piece of chicken was completely burnt, not as in charcoal, but way overcooked, and the taste confirmed that. The fries were also completely saturated in grease, see pics. The manager came over and even admitted right away that the food was screwed up. It was just so obviously screwed up that I'm dumbfounded as to how/why they sent it out in the first place. Nonetheless, the manager said he would remake the food himself. 7-8 minutes later, he brings out much better looking/tasting chicken, the difference was night and day. However, same problem with the fries, just soaked and puddled in oil. The manager did give me a voucher for 2 free meals and soft drinks for my next visit, which to me is okay, but nothing was taken off the bill, and only got 2 free future meals for 5 messed up meals. But they did remake it nicely, so I'm not up-in-arms about it, it was just inconvenient. I would stop there and give 3 stars, since they fixed it, but I'm taking one off for one of the rolls. Decide for yourself, but it sure looks like a bug or fly. Waitress insisted that it was only a burnt piece. How is there one little burnt piece but the rest of the roll is cooked perfectly? Leads me to believe, if not a bug, that they're using dirty pans with little burnt bits in it. read more

Judging from the other reviews it seems there is a wide gulf on quality of food and lack of or excellence of service. I tend not to be bothered by lack of service unless it's rude. If it's good to exceptional service I tend to make mention of it in my review and tip accordingly. Since I didn't mention it in my December review it was probably a non factor. The best way I can describe this place is if you took a Dennys and added some soul. The comfort-style food is decent and the price is always right. We get there and see a picture of fried pickles on the table and immediately got the craving. Our waitress comes over and we order our drinks and the fried pickles. A little while had gone by since we last saw our waitress, but then she came, with a smile on her face and a food try in her hand! We could not hold in our excitement for these fried pickles.... yet when she put down our food tray the pickles were nowhere in sight. We were so disappointed. Usually this is a fine choice for a casual sit down dinner with the family. Unfortunately this past Saturday afternoon things were off for us. Our waiter forgot to bring our Fried Green Tomato appetizer (was really looking forward to trying them!). I brought it to his attention and he said he was sorry but seemed very indifferent and did not offer to still have them sent. We blew it off and decided to enjoy the rest of our meal. I ordered the potato soup and side salad. Soup was very good. Kids ordered their normal hamburger/chicken tenders and hubby ordered the dinner portion of the Chicken and Dumplings. Unfortunately it was not even close to enough food for his dinner sized appetite. The bowl was not very large, it was the same size bowl that my soup came in. I guess he figured since it was on the actual dinner portion of the menu that it would be a generous size. He said it was fantastic but he just wanted more. :) We actually had room for dessert which is rare for us so we ordered a blackberry cobbler and a peach cobbler to share. The blackberry was wonderful...tasted very fresh. Unfortunately the peach was not good at all this day. The crust was burned and there was NO actual peach slices...just the juice and crust. Disappointing. I understand places have their "off" days and this seemed to be an off day for them, or at least our waiter and some of the kitchen staff. We will be back, just won't order the Chicken and Dumplings as a main dish nor will we order the peach cobbler again. I was trying to be "good" and not get my normal Chicken Fried Steak. Food was good. Service wow. There were a lot of ppl there but we didn't get our drinks until after the meal was served and the. We had to ask for them. We had to listen to a 10 min rant about how the waitress wanted to go home and she hoped it was soon. She said it would take longer for some of the food because they had a new manager and he sucks. She also thought it was a good idea to use colorful language "calling bs(edited for this review) on that" We found out about her parents birthdays and how she can't remember them. All of this is why she forgot the drinks and someone else bring our food out. She did check back once when she was by trying to flirt a tip out of a guy eating alone. Sad this place was really nice but most ppl f the wait staff looked tired and very uninterested in being there. We just finished dinner at Cotton Patch Cafe off of 377. We had only been one time before and enjoyed our experience so we went again today. Today I ordered a grilled shrimp and catfish plate over a bed of rice. It was good initially but the catfish tasted fishy. I was on my way home, made one stop and when pulling up to the house I literally had to run in the house to throw up my whole meal. It was horrible and I still feel sick. I had been told by a friend that I had to try this place. What I found was some typical southern family style food with really great wait staff and service. I ordered the simple Beef Tips and rice with black-eyed peas. The food was good not great but the service provided by Kelly was amazing. From the moment I walked in I was greeted. While waiting for my food I was also checked on my two other team members to make sure I had been taken care of and to check if I needed anything. The location is very family friendly. We had a great experience here tonight. It was Monday night so that means special on chicken fried steak/chicken. There was a 15 minute wait but we only ended up waiting 5 minutes. Our server, Katherine was awesome. She was attentive but not overbearing and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was very good as well! We started with the chips and queso. It was good, not too much salt. I got the chicken fried chicken and my significant other got the chicken fried steak. We haven't been able to come out to eat since quarantine and were finally able to visit after getting our vaccines. After not interacting with people in so long, we were waited on by Alex. I cannot recommend this server enough; in fact, he is the reason we will be coming to this restaurant regularly from here on out. He was friendly, professional, and made our experience both comfortable and enjoyable. He was engaging with all of his tables but still made us feel as if we had all of his attention. If you get the chance to come on a weekend, ask for Alex if you can; I promise you will have a better experience for it. read more
