Homely - a term used to describe someplace comfortable and cozy. In this case, it includes their food. Our portions were enough to feed three people, even if we were only two. This was a gratifying linner with extras. Come hungry and leave full. We received fast service. Luckily, they weren't too busy at the time we dined. Our drinks were brought over quickly after ordering. I think it's no more than three minutes after ordering, when you should get at least water or soft drinks. They met the timing. There's a menu with nice selections and hot flavorful food. Gotta have the fried okra!

Best Fried Green Tomatoes ever!!!! I don't have one bad thing to say. Our waitress Angelica was the sweetest most helpful server we'd had in a while. I wasn't sure what to order and I asked her opinion and she gave me recommendations without hesitation and she was spot on. Kept the drinks full and did a fantastic job. The food was soooooo good. Beef tips and steak were cooked perfectly and juicy. Chicken fried chicken and tenders were very tasty and veggies were fresh. All in all it was great! We'll definitely be back before they close. Hoping they stay in temple after the mall closes.

The food was great! Everything was hot. We even sampled to trio with chips, queso and salsa. The chips were hit and fresh.

Sunday ROASTED TURKEY & DRESSING

I'll start off by saying service was great and the establishment looks good inside and out. The reason for three stars was just quality of food. When we first sat down we had rolls brought out to us and they did not taste fresh and were slightly warm but pretty close to room temperature. When they brought out the second basket of bread they were warm and fresh and delicious. My fiancé ordered the blackened tilapia and it was ok. The fish was very bland and not seasoned well. The rice that came with it was very good and flavorful. I ordered the Sunday roast which was turkey, stuffing, broccolis rice casserole, and garlic mashed potatoes. The turkey was bland and dry. Everything else was delicious. The stuffing had a good consistency and flavor. The broccoli rice casserole was amazing and my favorite part of the main meal. The garlic mashed potatoes were delicious. We ordered the Dr Pepper cake for desert and it is amazing. Definitely can not go wrong with ordering this desert.

Really enjoyed the brisket street tacos with chips, salsa, guacamole & queso. The tacos were just the right size to enjoy the peach cobbler warm w ice cream! Yum!

Fried mushrooms are AMAZING! The potato soup was cold. Server did not refill my tea. She was nowhere to be found when I needed her.

My wife had the special, Beef stew with Corn Bread. The catfish was very good and tasty both sides were good. The beef stew left a lot to be desired my wife was looking forward to it. Then she started picking out the meat with all the fat and grizzle on it, which ended up being 85% of all the meat in the bowl. we told the waitress about it and she seemed put off about it. She told the cook and the manager. A little while later she brings a small bowl out with " what she said the cook said had lean meat on it." the first three pieces I took off had more grizzle on it. Sorry not cutting it, the manager never came over to the table to say anything or acknowledge the problem. A little concern would have been nice. went to pay the bill and the girl at the register said she could charge me half price for the food. I guess that is the best they can do, so it would seem all they want is your money and not trying to fix the problem. we will never cross this threshold again wishing you the best in the future.

First she took the drink orders and turned those in. Then she took the appetizer orders and turned those in. Then she got the meal orders. We hit just before the lunch rush. Self seating. Our waitress took our drink order and after that came we waited a short spell. She was friendly and answered our questions about the menu. I wasn't very hungry and settled on a chilled cheese dog. My wife, a true southerners, ordered the lunch chicken fried steak. I just don't know if it's the world, our timing or us. But lately we hit places with wonderful reviews and they disappoint in either service or quality. Be warned. You never know if you are getting canned hormel chille or home made. I really hope this was hormel. The hotdogs had the texture of being neither boiled or grilled. So I'm guessing it was microwaved a bit too long as it was tough and chewy. The chicken fried steak edges came out too crispy and inedible although the meaty portion was ok. I notice a lot of the chicken fried stuff came out of the kitchen a bit crispy on the ends. I had to flag someone down for a refill on my tea. They did have great unsweetened tea. Remember. This place is cash or check. Only. I might want to go back on another day and try something else. Seems like everything was rushed but nothing was coming out fast. To their credit, by the time we left, there was a line out the door and the place was packed.

Walked in, was greeted and invited to find a table. Friendly people and just a feeling of welcome to your hometown diner, where the food and all the people here accepts anyone wanting to visit. My hubby who doesn't typically eat onions rings ordered them with his grilled chicken sandwich and can't stop raving about them. The salad could have used a little more green leafs, but the ranch was great. The tea was another great choice. Loved the Chicken fried steak, minus it being put on top of the gravy. I should have asked for it on the side, so my batter wasn't all mushy. Would definitely eat here again. Loved lunch crowd vibes.

Inside you'll find some booths along the perimeter of the room and large, round tables with wonderful upholstered chairs in the center. Can't say enough about the comfort of the chairs- very upscale. Our server was very sweet and efficient- there when we needed her but not hovering. The food is glorious. They are a bit on the expensive side, but the food is so good we did not mind the prices. I had the chicken and waffles - nicely crisp chicken breast with very tasty waffles. My husband and granddaughter-in-law had the steak and eggs - with really good potatoes and onions; both were SO impressed with the flavor and the preparation. (I will be having this next time!). My grandson had 'Hong Kong' French toast, which I believe was made with Japanese milk bread and had berries and a custard. Also came with eggs and bacon. He could not speak highly enough about it. The portions are LARGE. We all took food home. I shared my plate with my great granddaughter (2 yrs) and still took food home! Honestly, we had booked another restaurant for the weekend of Mother's Day (day before) and we canceled that reservation so that we could go back to Farmers Commons! It's that good. Also, all the folks working when we were there were very sweet with my great granddaughter; we appreciated that. HIGHLY recommend for brunch. Now i want to try dinner too!
